Recorded live at 'Jan-Douwe Kroeske's 2 Meter Sessie' for VARA Radio, NOB Audiostudio 1, Hilversum, The Netherlands,5 March 1994 In 1994 the '2 Meter Sessies' was a radio-only show, airing on Dutch VARA Radio and presented by Jan-Douwe Kroeske (height: 2 meter), where artists/bands could do a alternate live in-studio performance without audience. Tool chose to do a loud-louder-loudest performance (notice the amp-noise!)without any alterations. None of these tracks are officially released. In 1994 only 'Sober' was broadcasted. At that time of recording this session, there were no television broadcasts of the '2 Meter Sessies', so it's very plausible that this performance is not filmed. In 2001, Jan-Douwe Kroeske, now on Dutch Kink FM Radio, had to do some serious searching for the original DAT-recording after massive requests by Dutch Tool-adepts. This resulted in broadcasting the complete session twice; the first broadcast had some annoying radio station ID's that spoiled the track intros/outros, the second broadcast didn't have any radio station ID's. So the latter was used for these flac's.

You can hear some Hertas in there i think. I imagined there was some of that in the studio version but nothing really stood out for me. It's clearly audible here which is nice

@ Joel Graham - This was done in a radio studio session, as it's stated in the title. Everything is unique to the session, including the vocals. There have been quite a few bands that have done this. Just search for 2 meter sessie. They do a couple takes of each song, then play the ones they like over the air. It's about as live as you would get in any radio recording situation like this. there's even video of them recording intolerance for this, which is where the screen cap on the video comes from. Maybe YOU should actually do a bit of research on this before calling someone out for bullshit.

there are no video's fom this session. my brother emailed the producers for the footage and they told him there is only audio

This version on intolerance actually made me fall in love with. I kinda brushed it off as my least favorite song on undertow. This quickly changed that

There is no video, only known live proshot is the sober one, they will be in the vaults some where, Danny has recorded all live shows from the 90s tours and never released those either.

This is from 94, Paul was still in the band. I saw Tool a few times in California '94, Paul was awesome live! This is a perfect document of Tool from that era. I love it! Amazing!
Paul left because he wanted to play guitar not bass. Him leaving probably caused the band more trouble than Paul, considering they were halfway through making an album. They are still on good terms to my knowledge

this isntt tool live. it sounds like someone put guitar and or drums to the already recorded vocals.id have to listen to the whole thing,but i bet$ this isnt a live show. even in the studio live.the vocals are from the record it sounds like.but i only listened to the first song and some of the 2nd. whoever put this up doesn't know sh**
