How is it possible that you find the absolute best fabrics for all of your projects. The hardest part of starting a project is picking the fabric. Too bad we can't buy little kits from you 😂
You’re a sweetheart. Your videos are encouraging me to try something I never would have had the confidence to try. I’ve only ever sewn simple clothing and curtains.
Thanks again for your wonderful tutorials. I made this bag today, with your help! Love the bag. So grateful to have your guidance. Much less frustrating for me to follow you than using written directions!
The level of energy you have for all your videos never change and your excitement for making bags are my kind of level I need in my life cuz my kids are driving my crazy during this COVID STAY HOME SCHOOL 😂🤣😂😂
Wow, this is gorgeous! I have that Bonnie Christine print, love how it looks with rose gold. Lefties always feel left out with bag tutorials, you can pretend your zipper direction oops was for them 😂
Always love watching your tutorials. Quick request…when you sewed the wristlet strap, it would be great if you could show us how to fix that type of error. I believe if you remolded outer part so the accent is truly in the center you may have to shave a little off the outer piece but it would work. It might be smidge smaller than the swivel hook but I think that would be better than a wonky strap. I love how to keep going and aren’t striving for perfection, we all need to remember that. But I’m wondering if this would be a great opportunity not to be perfect but to help us learn how to hack or fix errors. Thanks for the great channel!!
I can't tell you how impressed I am by this tutorial. I have watched many but this is the first one done by Jess. I will definitely follow her from now on - her tutorial is excellent and the way she explains every detail is remarkable. I have sewn for years and anyone who has not will be able to follow with no problem. Your a winner Jess - so glad I found you!! Great advise and resources as well.
I love your enthusiasm! This was a great tutorial video, and I love that you still make mistakes like the rest of us 😀. I ordered the pattern, thanks for the discount code, and can't wait to make these as Christmas gifts!
I love your metal labels! It was about time to take a step up from your cloth labels. I love how much you have progressed. Congratulations on everything 😊 now you look super official and even more professional
Cute bag! I feel like the front panel zipper installation could be done much easier and faster though and not change the overall look much/at all. Its so nice to have these videos so we know what modifications we want to make before cutting everything.
Hi Jess, nice bag and really good tutorial 👌 About the Rowenta iron, I have that iron for several years and I really like it, it is really good, lots of stem and no issues so far 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this bag. I've learnt so much from you. I'm deeply grateful. Still struggling on my top zipper, but so so love this pouch. Yes super cute. Thank you
Love the bag....so cute and so unique with the zippers going the opposite directions. I might do the zippers the same way to add character to the bag. Got the pattern and going to try to make some for gifts.
Thank you so much for this video , this purse is so cute. And thank you for the code to get a discount. I went right to the site and ordered not only this pattern but also one for my iPad. Also in case not everyone knows, there are quite a few free patterns on her site also.
Me yelling into my screen when you say you put the zipper on the wrong way: Jess you can still take off the zipper pull and put it on the right way! You still have time! 🤣
i really like this bag i have brought the pattern so i'm looking forward to making this bag also i saw a bag called Zip-N-Grip by Sew Yours i was wondering if jess would do a tutorial for this bag
This bag is so adorable! Thank you so much for all the tag ordering info. I almost ordered some earlier in the year but chickened out because I'm not sure exactly what I want and the process seemed intimidating to me. Now I feel more confidant to order when I am ready.
Thanks for this tutorial! Gonna need to make a few for Christmas gifts. Pretty sure I’ll sew at least one with that special, unique zipper feature too! I’ve done that many times with past bags. NBD
Hello Jess, I am really enjoying your channel. I have been a sexist for many many years, but have not made bags (except totes for groceries) but I. Am Going to sew one very soon. I know that you have a math degree, but did you ever teach? If not then you are a natural. Your directions are clear and easy to follow, and you are very entertaining too. Keep up the gppd work
Thank you for another great tutorial!! This is so cute and just the right size...I just printed out the pattern I can't wait to get started😍 Thanks for the promo code I love to save!
You are awesome! Your instructions are some of the BEST, and I appreciate all of the extra helpful links for where to purchase items. Thank you so much for posting your videos!!! 💜
Love your tutorial’s you give great instructions on how to sew these projects I just have one question for you about sewing over the zipper teeth. Can you do that on a regular sewing machine or are you using an industrial sewing machine? Thank you so much, you are so adorable.
Really unique front panel on this pattern. Love your metal tags with your logo! Thanks so much for the tutorial and happy to learn a new way to make a wrist strap. Your the best Jess!! Just checked out the sewn-ideas product page and think The Essential Crossbody Bag for All ages would be another unique bag to make, love it!
Love the headband, it's super cute 😍 the combination of the peach fabric with the faux leather is gorgeous. I'm curious, how you choose which pattern to do next?
You create such wonderful tutorials! I have one question. At the 28:10 mark you are top stitching the top zipper and you say to only top stich where the zipper tape is. What is the reason for that?
Hello! I love how clear your instructions are. Thank you! I'm wondering if you could give me your opinion? I have a Juki HZL DX7 and I was considering getting the Juki TL2010Q for my pouch and bag making. Do you have input you could share with me? I would greatly appreciate it!
Hi Jess, How do you decide between using wovenfuse and decovil? I also see their are light and heavy options available of each. BTW.... your organization on this video is sublime!!
Hi there! Do wovenfuse is nice and light weight, perfect for cotton material to prevent stretch. Decovil light makes fabric almost like a vinyl texture, and the heavy is best for pieces that need to stay absolutely flat.
Thank you again for a wonderful tutorial. You’ve got me hooked on starting to make bags. You make everything so clear. Can you please tell me how you cut your fabric so well. I’m struggling with being as exact as your pieces appear. Do you use a circuit maker or cutting mat and rotary cutter. Thank you so much.
@@OklaRoots Thank you so much for responding. I think you are an incredible woman, upbeat, funny. I not only learn a lot from you but find them entertaining. Stay safe, Jess!
I couldn't resist, but I tried! I love your tutorials so much. I just can't keep up! I was wondering if you have ever done any, or would consider bags by rlr creations? I just started ( for a friend) the tallah mini hipster. It's a small bag with a lot of punch!
Love this but am hesitant to start because of the thickness of materials in some areas. I feel like my machine would refuse to go further or else break a needle. What machine are you using? Thank you for the very thorough tutorial!
I Saved up to get have a Husqvarna Emerald 116 years ago. Wonderful machine for what I needed: Blankets, Christmas stockings, dog bed covers, couch covers, Pillow cases, etc. I’ve done it all. However, I am hesitant to work with faux leather or cork to make bags now. Any advise from you or others?
Chrissy, I have the same machine and I have sewn cork (it is like butter to sew through), marine vinyl, glitter vinyl, and faux leather no problem. I bought her because she is a gear-driven motor instead of belt-driven. Our Viking can punch through almost anything. I recommend a hump jumper and a walking foot to take your sewing to the next level. I bought a third party walking foot because everywhere you look you will be told that there is no walking foot made for this machine, BUT what they fail to clarify is that a generic low shank walking foot with a "fork" needle bar lever and foot clamp for screw works perfectly.
Zipper tape by the yard can have the zipper pulls put on from either end. You could have taken your zipper pull off and reattached it to the other end of the zipper. Just a thought.
So great tutorial! Quick question I noticed your Dring was smaller then your swivel hook. Does that matter. I am ordering hardware for stuff I am making for Christmas and noticed the Dring was smaller. In other patterns I have seen them same size as swivel hook. Thanks a bunch!
Usually they are the same size. However if the bag is on the smaller size, you would want a smaller d-ring so it isn't so clunky. But you don't want your wrist strap to be too narrow, so you need the appropriate swivel hook for that. You can always mix up the sizes!
loooove. Is the zipper tape you're using the Burgundy that is currently on the site? Or was it a different color no longer available? Yours looks a bit darker :D
Where can i buy the flowered pattern material used on the beautiful bag in the thumbnail pic??? I looked on the link in the descript box but no luck...i need that material! 🤣
Did you use a child size panel or big kids panel for the back of the bag you showed at the beginning of the video? I have tons of both and this pouch is perfect for them. And Do you think Decovil light could be used instead of the fleece?
Hi; I bought the pattern, and I am starting to cut out my material. I noticed in your video, you have it cut from the length of the zipper width. Is it 2 inches away from each topside?
I figured that out... lol.. it is just the side of the zipper so it isn't too bulky to sew on the end. Either way I have wrecked my 3rd one now. lol.. Learn as I go...
