Just spent a few hours on the Air 2023, awesome scooter! I have the Max G2 as well but the Apollo is way more enjoyable to ride. Even without the rear suspension.
I like the easier left break for smoothly adjusting speed as well as the handle grips that won't move. Seems like they are baking a lot of nice stuff into the scooter without raising the price.
Thanks for the review. Rider Guide has become a trusted source on all things e-scooters and rider gear. I am currently leasing the Unagi Voyager going into month 3. The 2023 Apollo Air is high on my list for all the reasons Rider Guide has tested. I ride BART daily so this would be a great upgrade getting me to my destinations in the City. More importantly, weight and ride comfort is major factor for my needs. One more thing. The visual and local landmarks are awesome! Thanks for repin' The Bay!
That is one smooth and sleek looking ride. I would not mind attaching a wheelchair to that. FYI I use a wheelchair. At the moment I attached one of my old wheelchairs to a Evercross H5 with four ubolts and a forearm crutch. I will be emailing yall a picture just incase anyone who is always in a manual wheelchair wants to ride.
This was one of the scooters that I was considering when buying my first scooter. Sadly I didn't choose this one wnd ended up regreting it. I want this one now!
I appreciate you putting the £ equivalent on your reviews. However, in the UK, the price turns out to be the same as Dollars. Example : Kaabo Mantis King GT is priced at around $2200, (a scooter I really like) and in the UK, it's about the same as a dollar price : £2200. ($2670)
Seems like a nice commuter option. You want a smooth ride and braking - nothing worse than being around cars and having a scooter that jumps at starts or stops
Thank you all for not just reviewing any and every new scooter on the market. Love that you vette the cheap brands. So when’s the new Mantis King coming out???
I bet you guys are super pumped to check out the new model "rover" that slots between the air and the city for power and weight. I'm sure you will have a pre production model by March. It will be a dual 350W motor with a top speed around 27-28mph and only 5-8lbs heavier than the Air 23.
Hi you are one off the best professional scooter connoisseur 👍🏽 I would love to buy the scooter only thing is missing option to change your handlebars to be smaller and the option the speed up to 28 MPH. As an option put in a code and you get that speed it would be a win-win
Seeing what they're doing with the city and the air, I think the new phantom is gonna be interesting to see. I suspect the phantom will get the tubeless self healing tires as well. My guess is the 2024 phantom will get these upgrades.
Thx for the great info. I went by purely customer reviews buying a scooter for my son last year and regret it. In literally weeks, my son’s hiboy seemed to have issues. Flat spots on tires, throttle sporadically changed what top speed was possible depending on the day, cheap plastic parts falling off, just a poor choice. This one looks like my choice to replace for him for Christmas. Thanks again.
@@aidanscracked831mine only lasted 16 miles on full throttle. I wish I had known that scooter companies over rate their range dramatically. Brand new gota return it and just go with the emove cruiser
I like the inclusion of bar end signals, you don't really see that on ebikes or scooters even though they should, I'm wondering though is the one included commercially available?
When the Uk finally legalise these I have a dilemma, Segway g2 max, Apollo air/city, or pure advance (be great if RG could get hold of pure). My one gripe with most of the commuter scooters is the lack of folding handlebars making them as wide as a bike so not as portable. Perhaps the folding handlebars from the navee n65 could be implemented! Other than that really like Apollo design and fact they go for ip66!
Hi thanks for taking the time out for us. 🎉 With all of the scooters 🙌🏽 I like the Apollo but top speed needs to be 25 mph price is good handlebars too long for committing need more lights 🚥
Is this a worthwhile upgrade to the ninebot max g30? I love mine but there's a lot to love about this new air. The range is a pause for thought, but I like the lighter weight(20kg is my limit), speed, tires andlove impressions from any who have ridden both?
omg the reliability is finally added to the review section!!!! I believe some new brands will be really bad on this part, like NIU, have seen so many posts on reddit say that no customer service at all in U.S. 😂
If you had a choice as a new scooter owner would you recommend the G2 max or this scooter? I have the option to buy either as they are around the same price atm. Thanks in advance.
I just ordered this scooter tonight. I had a bad experience with the roadrunner RS5 and just want something simple to ride around the neighborhood on. It’s a downgrade from roadrunner but it will suffice for the simple paved riding I want to do.
A screw went into my tire. I took the screw off and the scooter seems to be running well still. Is there anything i should do about it to make sure the tire stays in good condition?
No, just make sure you check your tire pressure regularly! On cars and motorcycles they say punctures reduce your tire's speed rating by one-rating, but that doesn't really come into play here. Glad to hear it sealed itself! -Paul
I'm not sure we'll ever get to the single motor version. We have one, but have never fully tested it. The one criticism I have of the single motor version, is that because it only has one regen brake instead of two like the dual motor version, the over all braking feel isn't as good as the dual motor version. The single motor Apollo City we have is a very early model though, so the drum brakes may have gotten stronger since then. -Paul
Im having trouble going faster than 22mph on my apollo air 2023, i tryied to change my max speed in the setting to 28mph but it didn't work. Am i just misunderstanding what it means?
Do you have a phone mount on that side. I ran into a problem where the phone mount was moving over and contacting the lever. Definitely reach out to Apollo and see what they say. -Paul
Do you know how steep the hills are? During the range test, most of my hills were 4 to 6% grade (6ft of elevation gain per 100 ft forward) and it kept its speed pretty well with me (165lb rider) on board. The test hill you see it on is 10% grade and it slowed down to about 8mph up that one. -Paul
They're pretty close. The Air 2023 is a little faster and goes a little further, and feels a little nicer in terms of the over all finish, but they're both great scooters. The one performance difference that stands out is the F2 Pro has a fairly long stopping distance from 15mph at 17 ft. -Paul
I'd have to ask Mitchell, I haven't ridden the NIU Air yet, since he tested that one in Germany. My guess is that ride quality is better on the Apollo and of course, weight is better on the NIU. Style points are high for both. -Paul

I was surprised how much further it went. I think part of it is due to the tubeless tires. -Paul

This may be a silly question, but are there aftermarket seats that can be added to this model? I have seen other commuter scooters that offer them
We have not seen the aftermarket seats!
How is the suspension? And will you make a Apollo City 23 single motor reviews
I'm not sure we'll ever get to the single motor version. We have one, but have never fully tested it. The one criticism I have of the single motor version, is that because it only has one regen brake instead of two like the dual motor version, the over all braking feel isn't as good as the dual motor version.
