  • Here's a new telemetry capable Flysky MICRO receiver that sends RSSI values over a channel so you can put it on your OSD. I could not get this to failsafe in all my testing. Could be the best flysky receiver I've ever tested.

  • @mtbsomi

    I've just killed my Flit10 so this was the time to change to the Fli14+. Setup process was finished successfully, but sometimes when I turn on my quad, however I can see RSSI both on my transmitter and on the OSD, it won't arm. Turning off and on 1-3 times, and I can arm again. I have RX info / RSSI every time so the transmitter and the receiver linked successfully! Do you have any idea what can be the problem?
    I've checked the Betaflight "status" command (with props off, battery on) and it says: RX LOSS CLI MSP, which means "Your receiver is either faulty or has no link to the transmitter." It's linked. Is this really a faulty receiver, or I miss something?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @mtbsomi
      @mtbsomi 6 лет назад

      Unfortunalety no. Gearbest didn't help. I filled their form (gave them every info about the order, the product, gave them YT video, etc), I got back a message to fill their form... Heard a lot of bad things about their support, which seems to be valid :/
      Yesterday I went to a little forest, where I could fly about 25-30 meters away before RXLOSS. Happened 3 times. In open space I flew about 50-60 meters away, and was everything seemed to be ok, but I'll change it as soon as I can to something else.
      The Flit10 was absolutely ok but shipping cost would make it expensive from HobbyKing, and it's out of stock at Banggood, as well as the X6B and/or it's antenna. X6B is way too big to my 3 incher, but I rather fly with it attached outside and got a working receiver for about 5-600 meters than build something inside to be in safe for 30 meters :P

    • @BrigzyFPV
      @BrigzyFPV 5 лет назад

      I had that too, I fixed mine. Go into SUB TRIM in your TX and bump the throttle down a beep or 2. Then you will find that it realizes your Throttle is "closed", mine was a beep up and appeared OPEN so wouldn't arm, that fixed it. Try that. You prob fixed by now.

    Hi, interesting video. I'm a bit confused. I have a Fli14+ FlySky RX and my new Diatone R349 HD has no IBUS but does have SBUS. Can I just use the SBUS wire from the FC to my RX and select SBUS in BetaFlight? I am used to having quads/FC's with IBUS so I am a bit confused as to whether it will work or not.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +1

      The whole iBUS/SBUS topic is somewhat complicated but I think if you can't get it to work on the SBUS pad, you can use either RX3 or RX5 and enable IBUS on one of those.

    • @BrigzyFPV
      @BrigzyFPV 5 лет назад

      Ok thanks for that, yes it confuses me alright. When I do that and say I soldered to RX5, would I enable IBUS on a UART or am I over thinking and making it more confusing? Thx very much. @@AlbertKimTV

    Hi Albert. I have Fli14+ and i get failsafe at 200m max. Is the normal Fli14 better range than the Fli14+?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  5 лет назад +1

      Fli14+ should have better range in theory because of the diversity antennas but other factors like antenna placement and your RF environment may also play a role in range.

    • @brianevans4
      @brianevans4 5 лет назад +1

      @@AlbertKimTV Yeah. I had practically perfect placement of the diversity antennas at a right angle on the back of the quad. Many other people have also claimed to only get between 100m and 200m with this receiver. There is a thread of complaints on RCgroups. I think it is a manufacturing issue with the Fli14+. I will order a Fli14 and see if it is better

    I've tried both Fli14 and Fli14+ in combination with a Turnigy Evolution TX. But .. I found the range really not good. No idea how you managed to get such a good reading with the Fli14 and that standard antenna, lol, but I can't get near those numbers. Even when you fly 10microwatt, that looks more like my experience by range (perhaps a bit further max 300m) but I don't think an Evo has only 10 microwatts?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  6 лет назад +2

      The Evolution is at 60mW. I was using the Jumper transmitter so maybe my antenna is better? I have the Fli14+ now and just did a flight to about 250m and no issues too on that one. My bad video link prevented me from going further. Might have to test this on a GPS quad and go all the way to failsafe. I think I saw someone take the Fli14+ out past 1KM on 100mW with 30% RSSI.

    • @remcovos4241
      @remcovos4241 6 лет назад

      Thanks, I was looking for the wattage of the Evo but couldn't find it the other day. I started already thinking the problem might be in the Evo. I still have a modified i6 with better antennas and I might try that one to see how it turns out and if it makes any difference. 300m is more then enough for me, as long as RSSI stays high and not dangerously low. Once I had a failsafe at 125m and that's not normal, some trees and bushes as usual but not in a suburb area or buildings in between like concrete stuff.
      Would be interesting to know how far you will get with GPS, yes.
      I'm lurking for the Nirvana but I find it too early to buy. Just want to make sure it's good and tested. I'm not gonna be the first version buyer this time :D

    • @genivos
      @genivos 6 лет назад

      In the meanwhile I've tested it with the i6 but that makes totally NO difference. So, I thought it was my Evo but I guess it's not the problem. I have really no idea why this happens. It's the same on another setup with the Fli14+ and that's why I was so surprised to see your result, lol.

    Why do you run your motors in the opposite direction of what is considered "normal", and thus have your props oriented differently? I think there is one toy grade manufacturer that does the same thing, but I see no obvious benefit other than to possibly cause confusion.

    • @Vincedt
      @Vincedt 6 лет назад +1

      Bill Somrak some people say that you have less dust on the camera. And since there is no downside why not

    • @vincentholm326
      @vincentholm326 6 лет назад +1

      The pro is that if you hit something, it will push you away rather than drag you into it, but the con is that if you clip a lot of grass, you will get a dirty stack instead of a dirty fpv cam.

    • @billsomrak
      @billsomrak 6 лет назад +1

      I see the 'theoretical explanations', but I doubt that any significant science based studies have been done on prop rotation of quadcopters. So, I would say that these theories are 'subjective' at best. However, as the saying goes, if it works for you .. go for it.

    • @vincentholm326
      @vincentholm326 6 лет назад +2

      Bill Somrak Yeah, Guess it's pretty subjektive, but works for me, especially on hard surfaces like trees or walls, not so much in scraggle👍

    • @billsomrak
      @billsomrak 6 лет назад +1

      As I said, "If it works for you .. great". However, my last comment on the topic might be, if there were any science based studies proving advantages to this method, then "The 800 lb. gorilla of quadcopter manufacturers" would likely be using this technique, as would dozens of other quad manufacturers. However, AFAIK, only one toy grade quad manufacturer uses this technique. There are also some quad manufacturers who invert the motors and have the props pushing, reversing the thrust vector. Some even have two motors upright, and two motors inverted. In these latter cases, I would propose that these orientations are merely cosmetic, rather than well thought out performance based decisions. Bottom line, I guess it's "personal preference" more than anything else. Cheers.
