I love that unlike most aquascaping videos, Aquarium Co-op strives to explain to beginners and help the hobby get more people rather than just showing the end results
3.5 years into the hobby and I didn't know about the magnet trick. That's pretty cool.
Thanks for another great video!
Do you watch MD fish tanks? All he does are aquascapes and they are very pretty.
I’ve never had to clean algae and I’ve had my tank going for 4 years. There’s a minute amount of green dust algae on the windows direct sunlight spot
Plants are the secret. Rhizome plants require some water hardness. Floaters are the most forgiving and eat any and everything. Water and a lightbulb in the room they grow like wildfire
This is my kind of idea for my dream aquarium, I like the idea of having a open area with just sand at the front at the same time having a oasis at corner where plants are thriving.
The magnet trick was the best part I'll add that to my aquarium tool bag
Lizzy does a wonderful job, explaining what she is doing and giving us great tips.! I really enjoy these nano scape videos. Thanks!
I appreciate the little tips and details in this one. The magnet trick is great! You could also use polyfil wedged in ghe rocks go keep the soil in place.
Showing how to grip different plants when planting nis also useful. Certain types of plants need different angles and its really helpful to visually see that.
Thank you Lizzie!
I love how this tank turned out.
Excellent video and beautifully done. I always appreciate Lizzy’s scapes and explanations. This has inspired me to rescape my blue dream shrimp tank (loving the rock and formation). Can I also say how VERY much I appreciate the soft relaxing background music, which fits so well for what I’m looking for in an escape video (as opposed to most other channels whose blaring fake-drumbeat stock music is overly loud for the content and makes my sensitive ears have to watch on mute 😢). Lizzie, you are a gem ❤
My favorite kind of comments. 😊
I never knew about the magnet trick! Awesome tip and content! Keep up the amazing work!
Yep 😊 you created a beautiful aqua scape 👍
Absolutely beautiful. I want a Cherry Shrimp tank.
So pretty! I wish I had more space in my apartment for a tank like this.
I wish I could make videos for the coop like this. It would be great working with Cory, making his vision into fruition. 10/10 shrimp tank!
AMAZING QUALITY...VIDEO AND TANK
Beautiful scape! Thank you for the video!
I just found this video by accident. That Said, I've placed an order with you 2 days ago and can't wait for my new plants to arrive Tuesday! I'm setting up my first tank and have decided to go with a long shallow desktop tank myself. I had seen another youtuber (Tanks for Nothing), and he inspired me to try a build so I googled aquarium plants and found your site! I fell in love immediately and will soon be back to fill a Used Oceanic Cube tank I found on Facebook! Love the video! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!
These scapes always inspire!
Thabk you for breaking it down so well for a beginner.. very helpful ❤
Looks great
What a great video! Appreciate the step by step
Beautiful shrimp tank. You are so good at tank decorating. I would love a shrimp tank with yellow shrimp. The plants I get do not live long for some reason. I can keep java moss though. Very hard water here. Thank you! Beautiful tank.
wow amazing
The part where she pulled aquasoil with a magnet blew my mind.
Very nice. Thanks for sharing 💯💗💗✌️
I see details of some of the products but what about the actual tank and glass top? That size looks perfect and having a lid to help eliminate evaporation is a great addition. Any info appreciated.
More videos like this.
Hey Lizzie!
Very nice
I did build a shrimp tank like that one but I also added a piece of spiderwood
I like buce, buce is always cool.
loved this. it's so beautiful
Adorable
Looks amazing, thanks for the video and great job.
The tank looks perfect. My only change would be to add a few chili rasboras.
You could easily add 6-10...they like groups
I had a thriving colony of about 40 shrimp, then within a couple of months I'm down to 1. :( I loved my shrimp.
Thx for the idea
Nice setup😊
Awesome!!
Can you please do a saltwater aquarium version?
How do you keep the shrimp population in check in a tank like this? Id love to do a smaller tank like this one with only shrimp and maybe a snail, but i've heard about populations exploding without something like a beta to keep them in check.
man i wanna care for some shwimps so bad, theyre so cool!
I would have used media bags or stocking to help save material in the back and keep the nutrient soil in place ... but this is nice 👌
What kind of rocks did you use? I want to add some to our shrimp tank, but am worried about them changing water parameters.
saw that HOF the part while you add the sponge to the tube which is hollow , isn't the shrimp will be suck it??
I think my next new setup is going to be shrimp. I've wanted them for a while now and have a great source to get them.
Im curious what light is being used? I like the way it looks
Nice...thanks
Where did you buy your rocks
Love it. Where can I get this shape tank?
How do you ensure there is no copper in the water? Or does that only affect saltwater inverts?
What were the dementions on the tank and where did you buy it from because when I look online they are all to short and your looks taller
It's missing a background (black or glass frost film).
Where can one get this tank?
Great video and beautiful simple scape. Nice work
Ohh no heater?
I'd like to see what this tank looks like 2 months after its setup.
Also, why no grow light? Those plants will need a light of some sort. And, why isn't there a heater?
The shrimp will be fine without a heater. You definitely need a light though.
The video literally said it will have light for about 6 hours. And shrimp don’t need a heater. Not all fish and stock you put in a tank need a heater.
@@butkusfan23 The light should be shown and explained. The temperature of the room will affect the water temperature so the room will need to stay in the correct temperature range all of the time. A heater would be a better solution. Remember that this is a beginner's video.
The light is above the tank, as seen at 0:27
@@mattgray9297 it is not pointed out as aquarium light for the plants. this is a beginner's video and things need to be clear.
What was that tool you used to remove the soil from above the sand after you added water ?
It’s a telescoping magnet. You can get them at auto parts stores.
I bought some of the black lava pebble stuff.. the small ones... after a year they turn into like dust o_o
tank dimension?
Could this be done without a fliter? And can tap water be used without treatment or should I use something to make it good for my shrimp? How can I check the water is safe? I am thinking about making a non-filter tank (I live in a really small house and the noise would not let me sleep) but I have so many questions 😫
dont you need an ammonia source to feed the bacteria and progress the cycle? Wont it always be 0 ammonia until you add either some fish food or another ammonia source?
I am your 999'001 subscriber 😊
Welcome!
What kind of lighting did you use?
Whats the source on the lid? I like rimless tanks but want a lid that is lopro like that.
Where do I find the rocks?
i'm guessing no heater is needed?
❤❤❤❤❤
What’s the name of the cleaner you use ?
Pleaseeee help.. i truly hope you can find the time to reply. I used flubendazole in my tanks and I didnt realize it would kill our mystery and nerite snails. Couldn't figure out why they died until i started googling. Apparently people even a year later STILLLLL cant add snails after using this antiparasitic, they've tried activated charcoal and even purigen. Even bare bottomed tanks still will kill them, some have assumed the meds seep into the silicone. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to make my tanks safe for snails again?
If you add the bacteria don't you need a source of ammonia for them to eat or they will just starve to death? Does the FriztZyme have ammonia in it already?
The fluval stratum soil releases a lot of ammonia for a few weeks.
@@Jen.K Ahh okay. thank you
Does aquarium co-op ship cherry and amano shrimp
No, we do not ship live animals. We recommend Aqua Huna if you are outside of WA state. aquahuna.com/
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
👍🏻👍🏻
aquariun size?
I thought plant required root tab why don’t you show us the process of adding root tab or aim I wrong?
U csn filter the water with some terestrisl plants siting at surfsce level
XD u would need a place with sone daylight though and to gill up water shen it gets to low
Very nice but fluval stratum and seiryu stone are not recommended for cherry shrimps as this lowers the GH/KH/PH which can be harmful to cherry shrimps and neocardina shrimps. This scape is best for cardinia shrimps.
I noticed she said "perfect for a few caridina and amanos" and then went to the store and grabbed cherry shrimp 😂
@@poeticsong725 yeah lol.
I used this kind of soil and for the first 2 weeks it lowered the pH, but after a few water changes it stopped having any effect and the pH is 7 which is the same as my tap water.
'seiryu stone' for sale will not lower pH as it often has limestone. it will instead often raise pH, which will go against the buffering ability of the soil, stopping it from becoming too acidic but also may make the parametres unstable if you do large water changes
Neos can actually thrive in low pH if they are acclimated appropriately. I have some in 6.4 pH and they breed and thrive. I just feed a mineral-rich food that helps them with shell production and molting.
Pretty sure these are Seiryu stones and those are not recommanded in shrimp tanks because they harden the water .....
Those are Neocaridinia shrimp
She has soft water
The stone will add some welcome hardness. Not Caridinia shrimp , where she might have used different wood and stone. Lizzie is an experienced aquascaper. She knows what she is doing.
lol
I planted a tank, now it's filled with pest snails.
😍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Awesome 👍🏽 pls update us 3-6 mos from now cute lady
My betta ate me cherry shrimp
that's amazing live food
My cherry shrimp ate my guppy how about that
