Anybody can drive these motorcycles but this is a lot of problems if you only drive a motorcycle. However, I don’t see any problem to drive a R1 like you drive your car with respect and smoothly, don’t abuse or to be agressive. I am pretty sure some people who are beginner and can drive all motorcycles. The real issue is why you want a heavier motorcycle, with expensive maintenance, less confortable and more expensive when you only make commuting and soft weekends ride at 100 km/h.

@@gijoe5508 100% truth....it does literally depend on the the person and how well they will keep themselves in check. I (like some many others) take to driving/operating vehicles pretty naturally.....not saying I'm any where near a "pro level" by any means but I've seen plenty of people that shouldn't operate a damn Vespa scooter let alone a litter bike....now maybe they get a litter bike from the 80's that puts down what today's 600's put down then ok....BUT...the only reason I say a brand new" 2020 R1" is not a "good beginner bike" is because some many low rent assholes think they don't need to listen to nobody. Don't get me wrong...I've done some incredibly dumb shit in my life and that includes being very reckless on my first sport bike but luckily nothing happened to me or anybody else and I realized I needed to stop being an arrogant piece of shit and listen to my friends that had been riding way longer at than me at that point...whish all people could see their mistakes and change but all to often it doesn't happen....just saying ...so that is why I said what I said.... there's a lot of dumb ass people in this world who think everything revolves around them and won't bother with taking advice and learning

I find hayabusa gen1 is bit more 'serious' in a boring way. Now a 2008+ with a full brocks and a tune..it doesnt pack any emotion just raw power.
I have an 06 raven an 09 raven a 16 raven and a busa 2010 . R1 revs your heart;) busa just makes the same business emotionless and fast . Not faster stock just more raw. Once the full exhaust restriction is removed and ecu tune happens r1 dont have any chance with the same mods plus hayabusa engine is forged from factory to go even turbo 260-270bhp not wheels on stock internals dailu ride a real bulletproof machine while a 1000cc high comp motor theres not much you can do without changing internals for real bhp power.. . But i wouldnt change the R1 feeling for nothing else. Busa is mostly for commute anymore.

Having ridden both back to back on multiple occasions (out of pure curiosity), I’ve repeatedly found the R1 to be stiffer and nimbler but horrendous for a daily commute type of thing, whereas the busa was chonkier but softer and more meant for cruising (very liberal use of cruising I know). Always such a great experiencing riding both! You’re right, these are bought as toys, and not as race machines, but none the less, they’re great buys!

LOL I had to ditch my when I escaped from the hospital during covid-19 f*** that I wasn't hanging around I literally had to escape LOL then the cops called me and said man you didn't have to do all that you weren't in trouble the things concussions can do to us LMAO but yeah I have my backpack my helmet and scrubs on with a bruise to heal broken ribs and wrist so needless to say I ended up sacrificing the helmet it was slowing me down so it's in the woods somewhere between here and there LOL all that for nothing it's a f****** cool story though and those words of the great John Doe I regret nothing

The Busa is shaky and rattly" what the heck? I've been on a Busa at 140! and no shaky and rattling! Something is something wrong with your Busa bro! Sorry, but I'll take the Busa all day long! Let's see the Busa can do 200Mph and the R1 can do what 210mph? You'll never hit those speeds without and airplane strip. 99% of us are riding in the streets and need the comfort and enough speed to get out of situations. The Busa is great at those things and then some.

I liked the "top gear" style of this video. However your comparisons left out one key metric that is very relevant for any street bike, COMFORT. Go on a three hour ride with the R1 and tell me your aren't saddle sore afterwords. If the seat is anything like other liter bikes, it's barely better then sitting on a 2x4. The Busa on the other hand, is very comfortable compared to other sportbikes. The seat is nice and large with lots of cushion. Same goes for the passenger seat for those of us that like to bring girlfriends. More of an upright riding position while retaining the ability to tuck in when needed.
Furthermore, you'd have to be mentally handicapped to think that roll-on test was any good. Gearing and power bands are way different on both of those bikes. You can look at the footage and clearly see the Busa starts off at like 3700rpm... Are you kidding me? You can talk about torqe all you want, but the Busa is still meant to make it's power at rpm ranges way higher then that. Next time, go out in the country and do a pull with both bikes from 60mph. Put both bikes as close to their power bands as possible with regards to gearing. Then compare them that way.
But I can tell by the way you guys ride those that you are both obviously still afraid of them. That kind of power needs to be respected for sure. But if your afraid of them, you need to ride them more and experiment with the power until your comfortable handling the bike...
Bottom line, they are both amazing machines. The Busa (zx-14's and the like) are still king of the street. They have the comfort, the speed, the stability. You shouldn't be trying to push corners on public streets anyways because it's a good way to die to general road debris or other drivers. Liter bikes are still king of the track and the corners at the expense of comfort and ride time. No surprise

I have both bikes, albeit in Bimmer flavor: the K1300S and the new S1000RR M sport. The K, like the Busa, is a 1300cc torque monster with about 175 hp. It differs from the Busa with the usual BMW refinements and features, but is about the same speed.
But the K1300S doesn’t compare to the RR in terms of speed and handling. The RR is so much faster, not only infinitely more flickable in the corners, but also way faster in the straights. The electronics on the RR and its numerous luxury features make it a great daily rider. The posture suffering gradually evaporates as it makes you fitter over several months.
I don’t do redlined WOT on the RR on the street. It’s scary fast and will have you well over 150 under ten secs. I take my RR to the track a few times a year (COTA again in July) and also do CSS camps a couple days a year on theirs.

There have been times that I've broke the back tire loose on the Busa whether it be unseen water or gravel on the road. As the bike starts to drift sideways under power it's analog capabilities allow me to harness it's power and throttle down back into a straight line every time (with a little kick at the end).
