      Anybody can drive these motorcycles but this is a lot of problems if you only drive a motorcycle. However, I don’t see any problem to drive a R1 like you drive your car with respect and smoothly, don’t abuse or to be agressive. I am pretty sure some people who are beginner and can drive all motorcycles. The real issue is why you want a heavier motorcycle, with expensive maintenance, less confortable and more expensive when you only make commuting and soft weekends ride at 100 km/h.

    • @BANANAHAMMER420
      @BANANAHAMMER420 4 года назад +2

      @@gijoe5508 100% truth....it does literally depend on the the person and how well they will keep themselves in check. I (like some many others) take to driving/operating vehicles pretty naturally.....not saying I'm any where near a "pro level" by any means but I've seen plenty of people that shouldn't operate a damn Vespa scooter let alone a litter bike....now maybe they get a litter bike from the 80's that puts down what today's 600's put down then ok....BUT...the only reason I say a brand new" 2020 R1" is not a "good beginner bike" is because some many low rent assholes think they don't need to listen to nobody. Don't get me wrong...I've done some incredibly dumb shit in my life and that includes being very reckless on my first sport bike but luckily nothing happened to me or anybody else and I realized I needed to stop being an arrogant piece of shit and listen to my friends that had been riding way longer at than me at that point...whish all people could see their mistakes and change but all to often it doesn't happen....just saying ...so that is why I said what I said.... there's a lot of dumb ass people in this world who think everything revolves around them and won't bother with taking advice and learning

      I find hayabusa gen1 is bit more 'serious' in a boring way. Now a 2008+ with a full brocks and a tune..it doesnt pack any emotion just raw power.
      I have an 06 raven an 09 raven a 16 raven and a busa 2010 . R1 revs your heart;) busa just makes the same business emotionless and fast . Not faster stock just more raw. Once the full exhaust restriction is removed and ecu tune happens r1 dont have any chance with the same mods plus hayabusa engine is forged from factory to go even turbo 260-270bhp not wheels on stock internals dailu ride a real bulletproof machine while a 1000cc high comp motor theres not much you can do without changing internals for real bhp power.. . But i wouldnt change the R1 feeling for nothing else. Busa is mostly for commute anymore.

    Having ridden both back to back on multiple occasions (out of pure curiosity), I’ve repeatedly found the R1 to be stiffer and nimbler but horrendous for a daily commute type of thing, whereas the busa was chonkier but softer and more meant for cruising (very liberal use of cruising I know). Always such a great experiencing riding both! You’re right, these are bought as toys, and not as race machines, but none the less, they’re great buys!

    I quite liked this video. As other commenters have pointed out, I'd like to see a comparison of comfort on these bikes. The busa is a sports tourer, and the R1 as you noted is a pure track monster. Would love to have a video about living with these bikes. Also, I appreciate the effort you put into this one. I can see that you're trying to go for a higher production value, documentary style video. I can appreciate and respect that. One complaint: The video had a really low resolution in some places. Lots of artifacts. Specially in the later smoke shots. Please fix that

    I remember in 1999 getting a Busa in that Iconic Copper color and going to the drag strip. The dyno on it was 156hp which is almost tame by today's standards and I couldn't keep up with the super sports worth a damn on the twisties just waiting for the next straight was enough.

    Jesse from Delaware here Suzuki man just got through putting a 600 through a guardrail at 70 luckily I put my knee on the seat and rolled into the grass should I just have a broken wrist and the flayed rear shoulder blade and Temple I'll be back on her in a week but to answer your question we like to 500 lb Beast we like old tuna he said he was going to be just something about grabbing a hold of that monster straightening her out and letting her take you for a flight you'll never forget staring straight down the barrel it's absolutely fascinating and no one will ever touch Suzuki's engineering the world should have learned this long ago just like the car manufacturers will never touch Mercedes mannequin try and replace convenience for quality and groundbreaking innovation that will never be replicated in a better way there's only been three of these inventions that I can remember ever in history that came out the best the first time this izuki GSXR series is one of the three any changes they make to this can only hurt it the best bike and human could create is the Hayabusa that's my humble opinion from Delaware 1488 anybody have a good medium helmet? LOL I had to ditch my when I escaped from the hospital during covid-19 f*** that I wasn't hanging around I literally had to escape LOL then the cops called me and said man you didn't have to do all that you weren't in trouble the things concussions can do to us LMAO but yeah I have my backpack my helmet and scrubs on with a bruise to heal broken ribs and wrist so needless to say I ended up sacrificing the helmet it was slowing me down so it's in the woods somewhere between here and there LOL all that for nothing it's a f****** cool story though and those words of the great John Doe I regret nothing

    Hayabusa's lower compression ratio means the engine would last longer.
    Also, all these electronic gizmos on the R1 are not conducive to a good riding experience.
    The busa wins hands down!

    There have been times that I've broke the back tire loose on the Busa whether it be unseen water or gravel on the road. As the bike starts to drift sideways under power it's analog capabilities allow me to harness it's power and throttle down back into a straight line every time (with a little kick at the end).

    Superb overview. Balanced and in depth. Love your dramatic intro with the bird analogy (Honda hunting). I’d take the R1 (used to race an ’04 R1). Any fool can twist the throttle, but an R1 can do sooo much more. There's a reason that no one races 'Busas. No one. Take a turn at “damn near” triple digit speeds? I had my R1 cranked over on its side at 140 mph (Turn 8, Willow Springs). For the new R1, you can turn down the electronic controls so they interfere less. The last thing I want when braking hard going into a corner is for the frikking ABS to kick in, thus guaranteeing that I'm going off-track. I might use B mode for bad weather but never C. Never. If you need mode C, what the hell are you doing on an R1 in the first place?

    I wanted to comment on the apparently lower power in the R1 at lower revs. Suzuki and Honda for some reason retard the ignition timing in gears 1-4 and gear 5 is the spot-on timing for max power. I bought a Bazzaz Z-Bomb retard eliminator (I know, I know) and I noticed a big difference. It does sound like Yamaha has retarded the timing in the lower gears. I guess that helps more riders make it from the dealership to the first traffic light. I think the, "Hey man, it's a 'Busa" is the new version for "Hey man, it's a Harley." Both going the way of the dinosaur. Just saying.
    Just for kicks, look up "Not So Easy" on youtube, a motorcycle safety video put out in 1973 with Peter Fonda (run off the road for giving the finger to the wrong guy at the end of Easy Rider) and Evel Knievel (lunatic bike jumper) -- consider the sources, jeez. Anyway, Knievel's bike has a Harley tank but the engine looks just like a Ducati.
