The GSXR was built for superbike racing. The Hayabusa was intended as the über sport touring bike from hell. Both are good at what they do. Aftermarket support for a 21 year old design has more options.
@Tommy Yuckguts no. There is a GSX-R1000 or a sportier GSX-R1000R (extra R at the end). Same with the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750. The Hayabusa is a GSX-1300R (there was NEVER an R before the number since it's not a GSX-R!)
Small guy Busa rider here. I could see the 1000 being a better dedicated track bike over the Busa, but if we’re talking a street/strip setup I’m picking the Busa all day. It’s more comfortable on the street but can still keep up with the new stuff.
It depends on the preference and application...but in today's time with the support of the aftermarket world, the Busa still is hard to beat.. so the Busa is my choice because it fits my large frame and riding style.
Great Video! Glad that I just joined this channel a few weeks ago. I don't know about drag racing a bike, since I've never done it, but the Hayabusa is too long, big, bulky, and two heavy. The Gixxer, being just as fast, weighing about 150 lbs less, which is a significant difference, much better power to weight ratio, and can out corner the Hayabusa, any day of the week.
I've got both, '06 Busa and '19 Gixxer R, and I love them both! I use the Busa mostly for Top Speed Standing Mile and the Gixxer for Super Street track racing. The Busa is more comfortable for longer hauls and the Gixxer is easier for flicking on corners. I'm not a small dude at 6'2" and 210lbs, so the higher Torque from the Busa helps in launching. With power adders, I think the Busa will be more reliable and there's more aftermarket for the Busa already since it's an older platform. That's why my Busa is turbo'd and the Gixxer is stock :D. I think the Busa's lower HP is due to factory detuning and just an older machine since the '08 Gen 2's. IF Suzuki is even going to do a Gen 3, they're going to have to deal with Euro emission standards which is going to cause them more headaches.
I want. The pusa. Unbelievable creation. Unbelievable bikes. I had the 73 h2 750 cow new . The katana 1100 was a lot of fun. I would like to throw my leg over one of these new missiles they have now. I've owned several bikes in my time . I need another bike.......
I’m 6ft6 and torn between the Busa or GSXR1000, think the Busa would be better in the long run? Commuting to work and ride around would be my use, no track or drag racing at all.
@@dad3562 For comfort, commuting, and general riding: Busa all day. Not as aggressive of a sitting position, wider seat for more comfort (both rider and passenger, my wife hates sitting on the rear seat of the Gixxer), and more low end torque for light-to-light riding.
Here in Europe Old Guys Who want a fast Touring Bike buys a Busa, and the young get die Gixxer for Race Tracks You cant ride the Gixxer normal on Streets ,first Gear goes far beyond the Speed Limit and Cops or Radarboxes give you a Ticket in every Corner.also the Sitting Position is every Uncomfortable on the Gixxer for all day music.its a true Race Bike .The Busa is tame Lion and more rideable on normal streets. Excuse my bad englisch...😎
I got a busa and rode 180mph in like 5 seconds. Im 5 ft 5. Only reason I prefer a liter bike is because its lighter and I feel I can control it a lot better the way I ride. The busa makes my neck hurt because the front is so long im leaning more forward than the liter bike. But the busa is a nice crusing bike from hell.
All the GSXR are reliable. I’m 6’2’’, 205lbs. I have a 2008 750, short wheelbase. I’ve been racing both at the track and strip. Literally thousands of hours of punishment with a few spills. Never broke anything and still runs 10.29@138mph on the 1/4.
I love both bikes.i had a 1000 I love because I was light.but I own a gen 2 now for 4 years.and I love that too.but at the end of the day I'll take the busa.because I never had a problem with it
I’ve owned a 2013 hayabusa and the gsxr1000 my opinion the busa is a better ride tho on the flip side I traded up to a 2021 ZX14 out preformed both bikes…
i like to do wheelies, speed on the street and i'm a small rider so i personally prefer a gsxr 1000 and i tried both before i bought one and i choose a gsxr 1000 and it has been so reliable and fun.
I bought my 2021 GSXR1000R 100th Anniversary bike because it is the sexiest motorcycle I've ever seen. It also happens to be really fast. Low gear roll-ons are brutal! The instant throttle touches WOT, up comes the front wheel. It doesn't merely rise up, either! Stock arm I'm thinking needs to be replaced with a longer one to use low gear and make good time-slips. I would imagine that the Busa has more go-fast parts available making it the best platform for drag racing...
You are merely referring to the motorcycle end. 100th anniversary for Suzuki Corp. Look it it up. "100th anniversary Suzuki GSXR1000R." You're welcome!@@TheWalkingFlu
@@MrSmurfnanne you think you just said something but you literally said what I just said. The 100th anniversary bike is for SUZUKIS anniversary. The GSXR has only been around 30 years.

I'm a big guy but I've never owned or driven a Busa I've always gone with the GSXR unfortunately my GSXR a little older and for the most part a little slower. Buy motorcycle was a GSXR 11 from 93 but it was not stock quick itch. Mine had a 1350 CC Big Bore Kit and a little bit of head work. I would eat busa and GSXR for lunch on a bike like mine. So I like the 1100 GSXR lol. But I would go with the busa in the mix your looking at.
Great great video and questions, in my opinion its all about the size of the rider and what he or she feels comfortable on. I dragrace both from stock to full out built and the busa has more of you can feel it in your pants, obviously its the torque but yet controlled movement. I love the 1000 only because you can say I beat a bigger bike.
The gsxr 1000 is engineered as a road racing motorcycle, the hayabusa is a sport touring rig.. The gsxr has to compete on the showroom floor with all the other road race bikes, some of which make over 200 hp at the counter shaft sprocket.
Which utensil is good for eating? Depends on what you are eating! If you have to choose between a spoon and a knife, which is better for eating soup? Which is better for cutting steak? They each can do it, I guess, but one clearly has an advantage over the other when eating their prospective foods! I guess you can TRY to eat soup w a knife but you are going to be there a while!!! I’d ride either bike down the 1/4 as they are both badass bike! #ZukNation
At 6'3" tall, I wouldn't dare ride the gsxr 1000, because let's face it, 95% of ALL riders will never be on the track any more than 5 hours in their entire lifetimes !! Also, at my height, the busa would be more fitting, more comfortable and more durable in ALL weather conditions...
05-08 1000’s clutch is not so terrible as said… it’s incorrect. 05-06 is terrible but there is an easy fix, and dont needed a 500 bucks aftermarket thing, just 3 drill in the clutch bracket and a washer from k7 and it works hell good. All in all 1k to stretch and drag is a waste of money, imo it should goes on curvy tracks not on the straight. Busa is actually the bike for straight! It does and do and will doin all the time better on savage 1/4 mile without really cooling. Busa was built for top speed, it says a lot about the herritage and character of this bike.
I would have to choose the GSXR 1000 it’s a weight ratio lighter bike moves faster can get off the line quicker The Hayabusa does have a bigger engine though
I am lucky and have both. I run them both on the 1/8 and 1/4. Fun to change up... Please... No more of that Numb Skull in the stocking hat at the end of your videos...
For me Hayabusa but my body says no now I have to graduate to Suzuki Boulevard 109 we'll see how long my body can have that bike before it breaks down more LOL shoulder knee back neck I tried the high risers it's okay but still doesn't work all together so now I guess I have to settle for muscle cruiser bikes but I could imagine the GSXR 1000 any more than 10 minutes back to the chiropractor
Suzuki Gave the GSXR 1000 a little more Horse Power to Help sell the Bike. They Knew "THAT" alone Wouldn't make it come off the line any Faster UNLESS the Owner Performed Some Modifications i.e Stretched and Lowered.

But power & customizing Busa the beast
Busa power!! all day has more customizations you can do to it jus sayin but BIG SHOW!! ON JULY 30-31 AUG 1-2 IN INDY
Busa all day just because I love these things Can’t help it

I have both and prefer 1K in town but the Busa for more than an hour ride.
The horse power number don’t be right from the factory. Those number are based on crankshaft rotation. It a difference also
One is super sport "touring",.....one is super sport "racing".

10:14 what's that MTC product..??
hayabusa or zx14r or h2 and which one is the most suitable for the actual fastest drag monster and which one is your choice?
I have had 2 SV's and currently a DL677. Drag raced all of them. So I say the Suzuki V-twins. I'd probably drag race a TLR if I had one. :)
