i have this hour long personal video that i recorded of myself from obs. when i watched it back some months ago it worked just fine. today it only plays 30 seconds before it ends and tells me of a missing codec file. i have tried everything and i mean everything. i have downloaded many different media players including vlc to change the format but it only processes the first 30 seconds that ive been able to play since this issue.

Really it’s very good
The problem is the file name is too long. .mkv file is within too many folders with long names
nothing worked for me , so i remeberd i used to use "k-lite codec pack" , works like a charm

This does not work, even Advanced doesn't work. If you accidentally delete and recover your MKV files, you're positively screwed.
