Lyrics:
Tuesday morning now
I gotta have somewhere to go
I call up Tommy now
I call him on the telephone
Won't you wake up and come with me now
I'm going to the pawn and loan
Walking down thirty three
Walking down thirty oh
Well what am I supposed to think
I drop a nickel in the sink
I love people like a brother now
But I'm not gonna be their mother now
What if someone walked up to me
And like an apple cut right through me
I'm not just gonna stand there grinning
Cuz I'm not the one who's sinnin'
Screwdriver
Now that you have heard my story now
I've got a little ending to it now
Whenever you go out alone
Take a little dog a bone
Think about your little sister
Then you got to drive it home
Screwdriver
I got a little feeling goin' now [12x]
Now! Now! Now!

i love how at the end jack just awakens from his lil trance like "wait when tf did the audience get here?" lmao
Definitely in his own zone
Somewhere deep in a closet I have this recorded on VHS. This was a huge moment.
Please share it with the world 🙌🏼

Ya don't say
I made an American flag out of Legos when I was in kindergarten and for some reason they thought I should go see the principal. Mysticism is real folks
I had to make a website on George Washington Carver because my teacher was named Ruth and born in Panama. She was born with blonde hair but it changed to brown. They taught us Blooms taxonomy
That little Southern Can break was amazing. Jack. Meg. I love you guys.
Fuck yes.
His reaction at the end when the crowd cheers is like he didn’t know there was an audience.
I noticed that! Now he can command an arena audience of 75k with ease!
The reunion we all want more than anything...
They were beyond their time, that's for sure.
Timeless band. Infinite energy. I listen to them every day!
retro fetishist not beyond anything.
@@sloburnjo i was talking about the music, and yes, their retro clothes are awesome
@@gabrielbauer5595 I think what was being pointed out is that this music is in many ways a retro throwback to the '60s. Things like Velvet Underground, MC5, Iggy & The Stooges, and bands I don't know of so well. Oh and Led Zep. Doesn't make it bad, just means it is not exactly new in any clear way. :-)
beyond their time......that song suck bad
Before their time? Right on time
The good old days
still getting goosebumps
20 years later…
What a huge difference in Jack's style from then till now!! Both eras and all bands between are amazing. Total ear candy.
Jack White is the best. He’s also in The Raconteurs who were a supergroup. They were so good. Nothing for ages from them. Plus his solo stuff is pretty good.
@@TheRealCaptainFreedom Dead Weather?
@@wurlitzer78 Yeah them too.
candy? i bleed....
@@sebg2086 ?
One of the all time great TV performances! So raw, in your face, and unapologetic. I love how they are here promoting White Blood Cells by playing songs from their first two albums!
Classic Jack
Bad songs Bad playing Bad gear Bad outfits
@@jaystay1514 ok
@@jaystay1514 what ever you say
@@jaystay1514 subjectivity ≠ objectivity. you sound mad, if you don't like White Stripes why you watching the video? :)
Who would think a duo out of Detroit would dominate Rock for ten years by playing on a kiddie guitar and playing garage rock? Incredible! And I am grateful they came along and basically kept Rock going after the death of Cobain. From 2000 to 2010 they kept it alive.
Man is it dead now though. Closest thing worth listening to is neo-folk.
Can someone recommend some good actual bands to listen to?
@@cachivache52000 well, I think, black keys is still going
@@cachivache52000 I have more fun discovering great unknown bands from the past
Check out The Stripes from 1979/ ecstasy
@@cachivache52000 Dry Cleaning is the last band that I got excited about.
The greatest band ever raw honest talent
Lmao that’s a great joke, have anymore?
Not the greatest in my opinion but one of the bests
True greatness. Maybe they'll reunite one day... 🤞
They have but not for an album
@@rondasportrayal573 Cause Meg is being a pain
@@pilsplease7561 Meg's perfectly entitled to not want to perform again
But there is also something beautiful that they want to keep
Effective rawness, literally
Best Rock'n'Roll Jack White & Meg White ,🎸🥁🤘👍
I still absolutely love this song...
I hope Meg is doing well.
Why
she is the most rich female drummer
@@numero-tj2sb you can actually be rich and not be doing well 🤷🏽♀️
@@numero-tj2sb I’ve got thousands in the back and I wish I was dead.
Edit: I also hope she’s doing well the sexism towards her that I’ve seen in the fanbase always left a bad taste in my mouth.
me too
people used to shit on meg white's drumming for being "basic" or "uninspired" but goddamn she knows exactly how to complement every single track with her energy to bring it over the edge and if that's not the ideal drummer than I don't know what is
@ Joe Dolan : well said.
she is a real original. her style is her own, it's primitive but raw and it makes you wanna bash on your belongings to the beat. unique but as good as any drummer.
her not having much technical skill ≠ her not being good, and the people who say that don't properly listen to music imo. she's a talent in her own right
Those people are fools
I miss you Meg. One of the best drummers in rock music history. Meg rules!!!!
Your kidding. God awful.
I agree with you Doug. At seventy years old I've seen and heard all the greats and what sets them apart is style of sound and play and damn Meg has got a sound, style and technique like no other in rock history. I miss her also, but she's made her mark.
Pretty basic rythms, posture is pretty bad to look at and I don't think she hit the snare once in that entire performance...
Her drumming has an X factor like untrained vocalists who have an X factor (think Bob Dylan or Kurt Cobain). It's raw, it's honest, it's elementary, and it's unique. You can't quite put your finger on it. Meg's got that X factor.
Meg is so bad
Amo the white stripes ❤❤
até as garotas de anime gostam de the white stripes
BR com bom gosto 🤝🏼
Take me back to that time!
You're taking me back, Jack. Rock on.
Music cut out

Jack and Meg definitely brought that justice for rock music again! 🎶 🎵 🪕
10 seconds in and I'm scrambling to give it a "thumbs up"...lol
So unique and inspiring in so many ways.. damn

So raw, so good!!
It's always inspiring ❤🤍🖤
Such amazing raw talent, this shows when trying hard looks effortlessly natural. Never saw before and never really went to earliest works but hot damn am i now enroute.
First song I fully learned on guitar love it.
Almost 40 years ago i started to learn english, and i was absolutely convinced the word "SCREWDRIVER" had to be some metal band name...sounded so badass !
Screwdriver is a band name. It's a skinhead band.

Welcome to the world. Nice of you to join us.
AWESOME ✊👍👍🥁🎸❤️💎
Friggin cool
Epic.
awesome!
Amazing how locked in they were... it's almost like a single player that has 2 separate bodies....or those stories about twins that have ESP with each other
Rebecca and Megan Lovell of Larkin Poe are like that, too.
@@charlesbolton8471 I love Larkin Poe! I remember when they were the Lovell Sisters with their other sis.

Brilliant tune 😜
It's great to know that some people who probably never get to see great live rock and roll, got to see it.
Screwdriver is how my sister calls me❤
Hi, sis!
The fuzz is so warm and fuzzy 😍 💕 ☺ 💖 💗 💓 😍
Very Good Song
In my estimation, The White Stripes were an anomaly, but not an unprecedented anomaly. I strongly dislike noise rock, but I love The White Stripes and Neil Young's noise rock facet. Raw.
I only like it if it's great.
What do you think of Black Keys (ie the White Stripes nemesis)
A comeback would be epic, raw rock blows minds.
always love the line ''Meg's got a little feeling now'' 2:55
カッコよすぎる💗🙈💗
i Love your Dame....
