Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I'm gonna fight 'em off
A seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I'm talking to myself at night
Because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
[Pre-Chorus 1]
And the message coming from my eyes
Says "Leave it alone"
[Instrumental Chorus]
[Verse 2]
Don't want to hear about it
Every single one's got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the Hounds of Hell
And if I catch it coming back my way
I'm gonna serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear
But that's what I'll do
[Pre-Chorus 2]
And the feeling coming from my bones
Says "Find a home"
[Instrumental Chorus]
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 3]
I'm going to Wichita
Far from this opera forevermore
I'm gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding
Right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will sing no more
[Pre-Chorus 3]
And the stains coming from my blood
Tell me "Go back home"
[Instrumental Chorus]
I just have the feeling that this song will never die
Never ever! This is a classic. Like Stairway, like Satisfaction, like Like a Rolling Stone.
People feel it
No but this is a one hit wonder
instant classic like step brothers the movie
@@DaRedeyeJedi808 how can it be a one hit wonder, when the same band have very recently released a compilation album called white stripes GREATEST HITS which has 26 tracks. Sure it is their most known and popular track, but it’s not their only famous song. (Hardest Button to Button, We are gonna be friends, Icky Thump, Fell in love with a girl, Death Letter, Apple Blossom, Dead Leaves and The Dirty Ground, Ball and Biscuit, Black Math, etc.)
Always liked how these 2 people could make so much noise live even tho they are literally half a band. Musically and lyrically they are amazing and I'm so glad they exist
Check out the song Black History Month
Thank jacks unreal guitar tone for that
luckily they have since remedied that
I could throw a set of drums down a flight of stairs and get a better performance than Meg could muster on her best day.
@bradcrosier1332 If you'll do that, I'll drag a guitar and amp down a gravel road.
6 notes, 2 people, 1 of the great songs of all time...
You gotta be kiddin me
No shit Jose!
7 notes?
@@ali_m_ 7 if we count repeated notes.
@@frcstyyy doesn’t make sense why we wouldn’t
How can they sound so loud for two people... LESS THEN HALF A DAMN BAND!
50% of a full band. 10000% song.
White stripes: we have no bassist
Also white stripes:* literally breaks my sub woofer*
Haha ya he uses a pedal and i believe his top string is tuned to low a
@@valleyboy3150 he is using a whammy pedal that has a setting where you can take your guitar down and octave and his guitar is tuned to an open a
Try glitch mob remix of seven nation army
Lol 😂
This is great!
To Meg......we, the White Stripes fans, hope you're doing great in your life. We love you!
Gotta disagree with you there big man
No she’s terrible
@@jobsanchez5768 She has millions of dollars and played in one of the most iconic bands of the last 20 years. And you are commenting on RUclips vids...
She plays with so much passion and emotion. Her chemistry with Jack while playing was amazing. any hate she gets is undeserved.
@@eoyguy Spoken like someone who has never picked up a pair of sticks in his/her life.
One of the great riffs in Rock and Roll history.
A rocking riff version of Mark Knopfler's "What it is"
it would certainly make the top 40,000
@@SL-vi4tk100%
Even Cruise Ships play this.
I'm 62, been to almost every Bonnaroo. This kid is a genius.
Absolutely!!!
That roar of excitement when they first hear the riff...dammit, I really miss live music
Megs posture is so on point.
An underrated part of this video.
It sounds like he yells at her for speeding up too much around 00:18 and then looks up at her to make sure she acknowledges it. It’s like the “hey” doubles for the crowd and for Megs attention lol
Underrated by who though? Makes no sense to call something "underrated" if no one is rating it.
@@duende901 These people in the comments have no more brain.
@chrisclifton6800She's untrained. Who cares? She fucking rocks.🤷
@chrisclifton6800Chris, if your life is nothing, just shut up.
“My Sister thanks you, and I thank you too”. I miss those days, when they were siblings. Watching from London. 🇬🇧
I love how the white stripes mesh blues and rock to keep both genres alive, all the while making unforgettable classics.
Sonically raw. Minimalistic set. Pure rock spirit
Lady does the #1 job of a drummer.TIME.
She’s speeding up
And she can’t keep it, honestly 😂
I love the way it says Meg on the back of her stool as if anyone but us would be able to see it.
edit: yeah ik we can fuckin see it calm down but i meant who in the audience
We did!
You literally seen it to post this LOL
I mean...you did.
As of now 194k people saw it.
It’s there just in case Peter griffin appears
When "It might get loud" came out, I was really excited, I called my friend up and told him about how it featured Jimmy, Edge and some other guy I have never heard of. The White Stripes dominate my playlists to this day.
My heart stops with every new notification. It's going to be ten years since they disbanded. I still have hope
Same here.
Usually when bands start uploading material to RUclips it means they are "active" or they are in the process of getting there. Keep hoping!
Fun Fact it took 10yrs of them saying they were siblings until they were exposed and they still lied after......

The way he is able to express his passion so delicately yet with piercing detail is captivating. This is evident throughout
his entire music career.
Two people. Unbelievable. Absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!!!! My God. Geniuses, both of them.
Meg’s drumming is art
honestly she loses the tempo several times... dunno since then she has improved that; I hope so
@@marto877 You're having a laugh mate. Seriously?
Every time I see one of these notifications, I always wonder if maybe this is the one where they’re back together again.
same here
same
except they prolly won’t
I'm sorry but they just won't. I'd love it if they got back together and would love to see them live but it seems Jack is always trying to look forward with his music. As for Meg, it's obvious that she doesn't want to perform again and never will. I think it's better if fans just accept that it's in the past and thats it.
Still can’t say it’s disappointing tho. Sad they aren’t back together but this is still awesome
I never get sick of this song
I go to guitar classes I literally asked my teacher if I could play this song on the guitar
I can’t over this song
Jack white is one of the reasons I picked up a guitar 🤘
He is a reason to LIVE!
Same thing
This song is the reason why I picked up bass... oh wait!
@@hedekbass strike one
I honestly can think of so many artists that got me into guitar my favourites are Kurt Cobain , Jack White and Brian May
The part which gives me goose bumps is when the drummer starts playing when there is space between
Wow, two pieces and all that sound, how incredible.
this is the definition of a timeless song.
Hahaha .. chillout
I would do anything for a reunion. Just once please, I never had the chance to see you. Yes I've seen Jack more than I can count. I've seen the Racs, but never my favorite band. I would trade all the shows I've ever been to and never be allowed to go to another just for one Stripes show. Meg, I hope you're well, I hope life is treating you well, no matter where you are at in life if you have the energy to work up for one more show it would make so many peoples dream come true, no drummer could ever fill your role. The White Stripes are the most honest band in the world no one gets at the truth more than them.
Definitely! Would be worth every penny to see them one last time.
yes please, that would be so awesome
I'm sorry but as much as I would love that happen, they're history , they are never coming back.
would be a nice thought but but jack and meg sort of hate each other
@@nikkidevitz Meg was at Jack's last solo show at detroit in 2018, and also at the raconteurs show at detroit in 2019 aswell.
Arguably has becomes the biggest riff of all time.
I love her drumming! Something about it!
Is it the off tempo?
@@iDigress77timesShe plays TO Jack.🙄🤦
It is like she is whipping him. A bit strange. But it works. I used to love this band.
Can't get enough of this version. Thank you for this version of this song. You can feel the energy of this song being performed. Wish I was there.
I love their raw intensity ❤ Real rock'n'roll. I wonder what they're doing now, 17 years on...
few songs are as overplayed as this one but the magic of seeing these two live in high quality agghh, brings joy to my soul
I’d kill to go to a stripes reunion show
we all would
Just wrote that too. Always a chance.
She has too much anxiety. I doubt they will get back
Are you a size 16🤔

absolutely fantastic
Meg plays the drums with such sass 😭
I am here because I just lost a bet. I swore that there was a bass player in this group. Amazed that there is just a drummer and a guitar😳
Ms. White is the reason I started playing drums
Cuz you saw you could easily be better?

I was present at this show. It was a great show; in fact, this was one of the best years at Bonnarroo period!
Immaculate guitar tone and Meg was on fire
It was all over the place.
God bless White Stripes!! {&blue&red} 💙😇💙

Gotta ' be one of the top ten most ingenious performance compositions! Boy gone done killed the cat!
2:50 I think he messed up but good performance but also I don't blame him because it's probably hard to play with flickering lights
Probably because of the fuzz and octave pedal

To the Meg haters: timing is the single most important thing in drumming, she has it. Also, imagine jack white in a two person band with some virtuoso drummer, it makes no sense
