Beginner crocheters should know that you can complete many projects with the absolute basic stitches - chains, single crochets and double crochets. Do not be disheartened if you are confused by some of these stitches. I've been crocheting for nearly two years and I haven't used many of these stitches. I have no doubt I will eventually learn them as I progress and work more complex patterns but so far I have been happy with the projects I have completed using the absolute basic stitches. Happy crocheting 🧶
this makes me happy and motivated. thank u for this, i was so close on giving up because i am so confuse and i cant seem to do the other stitches but im glad i saw this! xxxx
A perfect video with all necessary stitches can be seen on patterns and videos. Just enough to learn. There is not any unnecessary information or talk. LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing
My grandmother taught me to crochet/sew during summer visits when I was 7 yrs old. I must have been a very patient little girl & her a patient teacher. she made beautiful blankets for the church. Those memories with her have stayed with me all my life.
A GREAT video. I am just getting back to crocheting after several years. I am now retired and can devote my time to projects. My mother passed a few years ago and I inherited all her knitting and crochet tools, as well as a little yarn. I am proud to be using the yarn for my practice pieces. ❤
this is the most simple and straightforward video that didn't include unnecessary information, I have been looking for a video like this to just remind myself of stitches. thank you so much.
These are some of the best beginner tutorials I have found. I’m just getting started (sadly) on my crochet journey and love this particular video. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
This by far has been the best tutorial for beginners! I have struggled soo much with learning to turn my work. Thank you so much for making this fun again! 😬
I haven't been a fan of crochet all my life as I am left handed and found instructions difficult to follow. Wow!! Your video has solved this! You explain the stitches so well I can easily figure out how to do them in reverse so to speak! Thankyou so, so much. I am so glad I found your video. I have always been able to do simple stitches and taught my sister to crochet and now she has the same problem as I had because, though she is right handed, I taught her left handed!! We always laugh about that. So, Thanks again! I have subscribed 🙂
I just recently learned that I was yarning under instead of over ( didn't know over even existed)..Now I need to go back and relearn everything...This video is where I am starting.
@@kaitlynsoto5212 the end result is different. Yarn over stitches resulting in v-shape stitches and yarn under would result in x-shape stitches. They said yarn under make stitches tighter, too, that's why many amigurumi makers usually choose yarn under while clothes/fabric makers choose yarn over.
Thank you so much! I have seen a little collar with a stitch I didn't know or knew the name of. After some research I found this video, and it's the puff stitch! Finally...
This video helped me so much! I was having a realy hard time learning how to do a half double crochet and i finally did it! She realy made it easy to understand all of the stiches. It also helps a lot if you take some notes. This video helped me so much!
Absolutely the best explained and easiest to follow stitch tutorial I have come across!! Great pace and excellently executed video in all ways. THANK YOU!
This is 100 percent the class I needed to upgrade my crocheting skill.. thanks a lot for this video... so detailed, I tried every stitch pattern except the decreases and I got it all correctly
I’m saving this as a reference, this video is so clear and concise. I love it. Also love that there’s time stamps so I can skip to a stitch I need. Great video, thank you!
Thank you so much for making this! When I first learned how to do basic stitches, most videos just showed how to make the stitches and usually skip over how to end it, so my work often have wonky ends. This video really help make my stitches neater!
Thank you refresh my memory. I learned how to crochet at very young age. I honestly don’t know the basic names in English. I saved your video for years now I decided to rewatch it and learned the names. Thank you again for this video.
This is absolutely one of the best tutorials that I have seen on a teaching somebody the different stitches they are very easy to follow I am super excited that I found this video thank you so much for posting it XX
thank you so muchhhhhh for the tutorial !!!!! im glad you made this video. even i tried in about 5 times to make the classic granny square but i made it at last . i also managed to make the other crochet types ! i wish you'll always have a good life:)
Amazing video; very clear. This was so helpful and allowed me to figure out the pattern of an unfinished project I inherited and can try to finish now. Thank you.
OMG thank you for this video! Now I can delete my others because I finally have all the basic stitches in 1 video (another plus is you are a great teacher!)
Thank you for your basic, simplistic, patient, clear tutorial, offering a variety of crochet stitches. I'm certain there are many others, nonetheless, this 🎥 was to the point, and an easy find!!!!!
This is fantastic! I’m a long time knitter and I’m just learning to crochet. I plan to make some placemats using some of the more dense stitches, but I might make a sampler like this. Or make individual samplers with tags to identify what the stitches are since I won’t remember. So many choices!
This is a great video!!! I have been crocheting for many years…this a wonderful resource to have and learn the most commonly used stitches all in one resource!!! Thanks for creating and sharing!!!
This is the best tutorial on basic stitches as I was getting confused by others I’ve watched for beginners. Thank you so much for making this video so clear and easy to understand.

Rather than stitch in the air between your extended index finger and thumb, just crochet on top of your index finger. Much easier and quicker. There are some videos that use this other technique. It also creates a more consistent tension.

This is brilliant thank you, I was fine with the rows but it's that last stitch that always gets me so I appreciate the details.
So well explained. Wish I had seen this when I first started crocheting. However, still useful to consolidate knowledge. Thank you.

How are we suppose to end the crochet though?

true!!
That's how I do it too. I think the extended index finger creates too much unnecessary movement.
