I find using the plastic bag method starches it too much, my preferred method is to hang it on the clothesline and spray away. This method works particularly well for larger pieces of fabric, I only pray one side of the fabric which gives me just the right amount of stiffness in my fabric for cutting my blocks out. Fantastic product.
Oh, excellent! I love this idea for a lighter spraying! It would also limit wrinkling too I bet? I am going to try it and report my findings! Thanks so much!!!
Could you consider making a fragrance-free version? I used it on some knit fabric and It worked well for stabilizing, but the fragrance was overpowering. I am sensitive to fragrances so others may not have this problem. I'd like to try it on rayon for a garment next but I would love a fragrance-free version,
Does this work for machine appliqué on a quilt? You mentioned raw edge and reverse appliqué but I have my piecing done on my quilt and now I need to add the appliqué and it will have a satin stitch. It's a baby quilt and the appliqué birds are fairly large. Terial Magic sounds perfect since it will not make the quilt stiff as some stabilizer's would but I'd like to make sure it will hold up to lots of washings and also that it will not smell. I noticed a couple of others commented on the smell but I cannot tell if it goes away after washing. I bought the product several months ago so doubt it is the new one. Thanks in advance!
Ok, I have looked EVERYWHERE for a hint on whether we should iron dry or with steam. Looking at various sites, your Faqs section, etc. , none of them say which method to use. Some stabilizers say steam, others dry iron. Based on what I hear when you iron, it sounds like you are using steam, so that’s what I’ll try.
Yes it can. If Terial Magic is left in mister for months without use though, you may need to run it's nozzle under hot water if it clogs. Thanks for your interest!
Hi-great question! Rinse or wash out after your quilting is finished. The Terial Magic helps keep the fabric to lay smooth and flat and not pucker or curl when quilting.
I don't rinse it until after it is quilted. The Terial Magic keeps fabrics from puckering and folding during the quilting process. Thanks for your interest in Terial Magic!
Oh yes it does keep the fabric edges from fraying! We have flower patterns at terialmagic.com so you can see how well it works for fabric flowers! Thanks for your interest in Terial Magic!!!
Hi, I have used Terial Magic to embroider terry towels, but they were not super thick. I hooped them after treating with the Terial Magic, they embroidered beautifully and then I washed the Terial Magic out of the fabric.
Thanks for your love for Terial Magic! Sorry the smell is not to your liking! The compound is from natural source which has a less than pleasant smell; we add a fragrance so that it smells more like a laundry soap which disappears once dried. I guess the smell is reappearing when fabric is pressed or steamed...hopefully it stops once fabric is pressed?
I find it less offensive than the other commercial starches and sizings on the market. I have asthma and a sensitivity to perfumes. Once Terial Magic is almost dry I have no problem with the odor. While it is wet I wear a mask while hanging it and that solves any odor issue. Again, I am extremely sensitive to some odors so I have searched for years to find a product that works for me and this is perfect for my needs.
Yes, treat an area large enough to encompass the hoop...and you may leave it in, but know it may change the color a hint darker until it is washed out (lighter fabrics).
Hello :) I would first would love to know, if Jersey is still strechy when you saw it with Terial Magic on it, or is it just stiff and inelastic? Second, can you savely really wash it out c o m p l e t e l y? But my most important question is: How does it work on strechy rolled up Jersey? Because it annoys me so much that the selvedge of my 4m long jersey fabric allways rolls up on both sides more than 2 inches and no iron helps :/ And so I cannot use this jersey the way I wanted to, because I cannot cut it properly. Really nothing helps to unroll this freaking fabrik :/ Have you any experience with these jerseyrolls? Any ideas for that problem? Perhaps I can put the whole fabric on a big table, then I just spray it on 2 inches selvedges the whole 4 m length right and left, then I let it dry on the table and then I could try to unroll the sprayed rolled selvedges and try to iron it flat? Hope you can help me :D (Btw. sorry for my poor English) Best wishes from Berlin Germany
Terial Magic will stabilize your fabric and keep it from stretching while you cut and sew. It is not so stiff you cannot not stretch it if needed while sewing. And once your garment is finished you can wash it out or soak in in warm water for 10 minute to get the Terial Magic to release. It really make sewing knits easy!
If you’re gonna put out a video for your product, you could at least answer the questions. I came here looking for answers before I spend $30 on 16ounces of liquid. Seeing how much you used , combined with the fact that you didn’t answer any questions, I’ve decided I will not purchase this.

6:10 Do you use Terial Magic Full strength or do you dilute it? Are you using a dry iron or a steam iron? Thank you.
Do you have a playlist for your Japanese quilt?
Can I use it for a washable heavy satin for machine embroidery?

Our latest Terial magic has much less fragrance and is barely noticeable~hope this helps! Terry
@@terialarts This is great news, thank you!

What kind of iron are you using in the video?
What does Terial do on wool?

Can this product be used in the newer mister spray bottles? They tend to dispense more evenly.
Yes it can. If Terial Magic is left in mister for months without use though, you may need to run it's nozzle under hot water if it clogs. Thanks for your interest!

Have you used it on terry towels? I'm not sure that works because they don't hoop very easy or at all, any suggestions?

could you put some in a bowl and then soak your fabric and dry in the dryer like you can with Sew Perfect
You could, it is a water soluble safe stabilizer! Thanks, Terry
Is it possible to use the TM just on the section you will embroider on and leave it in? (ie not wash it? afterwards)
Yes, treat an area large enough to encompass the hoop...and you may leave it in, but know it may change the color a hint darker until it is washed out (lighter fabrics).
can you dry it in the dryer
I do not put it in the dryer but many of my students do with good results. I hope this helps?
Seems like you have to use a lot..how much fabric does one bottle cover?
I just bought some - it says 16oz does 2 - 3yds of fabric. Im hoping this stuff will avoid buy tons of different stabilisers !
