This stuff is great ... I use it on my quilting cotton to run through my printer to make quilt labels. My husband has banned me from using the freezer paper technique .. found out about this stuff and it works! NO MORE FABRIC JAMS! This stuff turns your fabric into paper like material and it runs through very smooth.
I bought some of this when you first mentioned it. It's awesome. It smells a little funky but well worth it. It works really well for stabilizing fabric for machine embroidery.
Will use this on my heirloom sewing projects as it acts as a stabilizer, so I wouldn't use the wash-away stuff which is not easy to apply. I''ve had 2 bottles of it for months, forgot about it, now I will bring it out and use it. Thanks. ☺
Hey Jen. I’m watching this again, trying to decide what happened. I purchased this about 6 months ago and loved it. I haven’t used it Shaun for a couple of months until yesterday and it left a dark stain around the outside edges. Have you had this happen? It stained 4 separate blanks
Hi Terry, real pleasure! Thank you! I'm a fan of the product and it's helped a lot with machine embroidery more recently. I did work with Imagine International last year on a few videos and the company sponsored Sewing Report live for a month. Feel free to email me sewingreport@gmail.com and check out my WORK WITH ME guidelines: www.sewingreport.com/contact-us/submit-newstip/
I make earrings using the Free Standing Lace process on my embroidery machine. Sometimes the earrings curl a little on the edges and I was wondering is I can use this on my earrings to keep them from curling? BTW great video. Very informative.
This probably wouldn't be the best product to accomplish that (if you're using polyester thread), I have noticed it works better on natural fibers like cotton or rayon. The more synthetic fibers, the less effective.
@@SewingReport I am using polyester thread. I may try doubling my stabilizer to see if that helps or just iron them using a pressing cloth. I appreciate your quick response. Thanks so much!
Hello :) What's about useing it on strechy rolled up Jersey? Because it annoys me so much that the selvedge of the fabric allways rolls up more than 2 inches and no iron helps :/ And so I cannot use this jersey for boxer shorts the way I wanted to, because really nothing helps to unroll this freaking fabrik! Have you any experience with this jerseyrolls? Best wishes from Berlin Germany
@@SewingReport Thank youu, it's 95% Cotton and 5% Elastan :) But is the fabric stiff then or is it with the stabilizer still a little strechy, so I can still sew it with a little pull? Best wishes from Berlin Germany :)
Chiffon might be too delicate of a fabric - particularly if it's a synthetic chiffon. Give it a try on a test swatch first. It has to be both machine washable and able to be ironed.
That's not really the primary purpose of the product, and it's only temporary. It might help with fraying (but no guarantee) but remember that once the Terial Magic washes out, it will NOT hold the stiffness anymore.
“I’m saving it for a different project…I don’t know” We’ve all been here 😂

Been thinking of trying it out but we have a laser printer. Might do a test run to see if it works.
We have Ink Jet .. so I don't know if it would work.

So can you hand it machine stitch through it??????
I've got to get some of this and try it out. This is the first time I've ever heard of it. Thanks for the video, Linda D.
One bottle does go a long way and it's been a real lifesaver for me!

its basically starch spray right? You can combine 5 cups water with about a tablespoon of corn starch :)
off topic but... I really miss your sunday live shows.
Aww thanks Nancy! I've been trying to live stream on Twitch about once a week showing me making various things! www.twitch.tv/sewingreport
This looks like it would be really helpful with light rayon challis!
It's SOOOOOO great for that!
Love the video! It's Terry from Terial Arts, I would love to collaborate!

can I use the big shot with my dies to cut fabric?

When I dry freestanding lace I will sandwich it between towels and something heavy on top
@@SewingReport that's a great idea! I'll try that. thank you :)

It does work if the knit fabric is cotton or mostly cotton but will NOT work on synthetic fibers like polyester.

It's going to be mostly stiff but will wash out. I'd experiment but it WILL work with a cotton/cotton blend.
Does it works with polyester chiffon?
Hi... does this work with stretch fabric... as in if I spray it will the fabric lose its stretch?
Yes, as long as the fabric is mostly/all a natural fiber like cotton. Does not work super well on synthetics like polyester.

@@SewingReport What would you recommend for hand washed silks instead?
what about Rayon?
Can this prevent fabric fraying?
