My new Franchise on Madden 20 is underway with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a team that has seen very little success since their lone Super Bowl win, and they've been chasing the NFC South competition for long enough. It's time to take control of the Bucs and build a winner once again.

@@adamd5849 Yes. The first one was CRAZY deep. People actually complained to EA about it being too deep. Haha how the days have changed. There is no reason why this shouldn't be the franchise mode on current madden's. The consoles could easily handle it and you would control the players also. Also you would have the ability to turn on or off all the different tasks and things you have to do. Do it EA!!!!

@@reidbenware909 yeah but they can do more of a GM game. Kinda like how the show has a fast paced my league where you do all the gm stuff and only play during important moments. At this point I'll take ANYTHING over madden and the unrealistic crap they have been putting out for years. Lol
@@Jrseydevil they legally couldnt. I wish they could, but a gm game is directly under the sim umbrella. They'll likely make a game similar to backyard football or something like nfl street
@@reidbenware909 I'd be cool with an NFL street type of game with a heavy focus on offline/franchise mode. Could they hypothetically make a realistic football game, but not use real teams? Like how doug fluttie has the Canadian college football game? That's what I was saying when I mentioned the mlb the show fast paced franchise mode. Just asking because I'm not well versed in all the background info and you seem to be more knowledgeable than I am

Insane how the graphics were so detailed for a 2008 game. You have a customized cutscene for every team with even the Miami skyline behind the dolphins facility. How can they not create something even similar to this with so much technology nowadays
I love listening to Cane real time reacting to the Diggs trade news... As a Bills fan I reacted very differently
In my first season of a campaign, I usually don't spend any of my skill points until after the draft. You get a chance to see who has the most development to gain to reach their ceiling, as well as which staff member is the worst that you will need to support more. For instance, if your OC has a hard time developing OL, and your OL coach is your worst specialist coach, you could put 2 into phys and intangible development for OL. Just a tip! Good luck with Miami, they're extremely tough.
If this ends up being a multiple season series you're really going to regret not taking Ambition to start
Love this game! It is one of the most underrated sports games of all time. Super in-depth coach sim for those that do not want to play the game but manage all the aspects of building a team through the draft or free-agency. This is what franchise mode should be like in Madden. Keep rolling this one out!

If you look on Amazon you might be able to find it it's tough to find a copy of itself I was lucky to find one after my original one broke. I looked into the Mom and Pop's gaming stores around the area I found one

This is exactly the type of game I want right now. Absolutely no interest in controlling players on the field. I wish they still made this game.
This game was very buggy. But had a lot of potential for being a follow up to 06.
Since EA refuses to make a playable franchise mode, the NFL should at least alter their license to allow someone to make this sort of game. An OOTP/head coach style game is sorely needed for the NFL

This is one of my most played games of all time. I loved it and I'm still so disappointed that madden hasn't implemented any of it. If they ever made a franchise mode anywhere near this good I'd be so happy.
I always played as Miami too. Calias Campbell at LE is a HoF in this game.
The skills:
Physical: The natural gifted talents of your players, things like speed, agility, strength, acceleration.
Intangibles: More of the skills related to the position, catching skills, route running skills, blocking skills, pass rush skills, etc.
Playbook Knowledge: Kind of explains itself, helps players learn the playbook quicker. Important if you plan on making a custom playbook or switch your team's default playbook to a new one that is a completely different system.
Playbook knowledge is VERY important in this game. Even great talents can mess up and make penalties or miss assignments if they don't understand the plays.
This was my favorite football game of all time. Such a work of art.
If this series is good I'll add this to my list of games to get when I get my new ps3. Vintage games are amazing

My father played against Matt Roth throughout highschool, from what I hear, that was a scary team to face in the early 2000's.
little did he know while grieving our loss of Diggs that it was an actual upgrade.

This video shows just how much madden has taken steps back in their franchise sim... level of detailed tracking in this is insane.
Very interesting Coach Build. One thing I love about this game is the ability to make your own decisions and try several different builds so you can focus on being a DB Coach type or an OC coach type depending on what you want and each team.
I typically go with Leadership and Motivator special skills personally and focus on special skills. So it’s interesting to see some different completely different styles and approaches. Fun. Can’t wait to see the rest of the series!

Love this game, I still play this game ever since it came out! The A.I sucks though that's the most disappointing part of the game. It's so awesome that there are other people out there that enjoy this game still!
NFL Head Coach 09 is my favorite football game all time I sadly have never done more then two seasons, mostly because my game crashes and I forget to save more then every half a season 😭
Also side note this game was miles ahead of every football game

Cane, just listen to the trainer with sitting players. You’re not gaining anything but sitting players with less than 70 fatigue, it doesn’t negatively influence them getting injured until it gets much, much lower and they just won’t learn the playbook
Burnt a lot of hours in 2008 on this game. My buddy and I did a franchise I remember. Drafted Cooper Hooper because how could you not with that name?

I'm a dolphins fan, if I remember correctly this was the year Brett Favre came out of retirement played for the jets and the dolphins got Chad Pennington from the jets. Went very well finished 10 and 6 that year I believe

Also, your overalls for players CHANGE based on the PHILOSOPHIES you select for EACH POSITION. So Ricky Williams is a 78 based on how you want overall to be judged. SO if you want speed rbs(waste of a philosophy), you set it to that. Then overall favors speed type ratings for that positon. It doesn't change how well someone plays, but it helps you prioritize the kinds of players YOU WANT on your team.

IRL this is why the Fins brought in Chad Pennington, because they knew their QB situation sucked. Favre suddenly deciding to be a Jet for one season helped a lot too.
Saban didn't get the QB he wanted, because the Docs wouldn't clear him. So he dominated in New Orleans instead.

Use to love this game, made a playbook with wildcat plays and always drafted McFadden and sub him in to play QB for those. Was so much fun, can't wait to watch this, may even dust off my copy of the game to play
Josh Johnson as the QB, keep McFadden as a RB in that case. The Mobile QBs in this Draft were crazy.
@@theclimbto1 was only used in running and he was great at position. Would put another speedy rb with him. Haven't played in so long though

Nfl head coach 09 had more depth than most madden games. Play creation, playbook creation, pistol years before madden used it, and even wishbone which madden has never had. Also how players progress is better

It's basically fantasy football at its finest. If you just simulate things and play GM you'll be a lot of fun but if you try to play some of the games it's difficult the A.I sucks in this game. For no reason the player will be running straight and then all sudden run right back into the pile of players makes no sense.

Main Tips:
1- Intangible, Physical and Learning development mean very little for the HC. Develop them on the position coaches who are responsible for developing their positions not the HC.
2- Special Skills are very important to the HC but not Ambition. Getting the 3 Passing Game Special Skills is definitely a good move for a Pass Offense build.
3- I strongly suggest anyone starting this game have an idea for their Coach Build before starting. Pick Pass O, Rush O, Pass D or Rush D, or if you want to run Motivator or Leadership builds to maximize the overall team as a “balanced” coach.
4- Always, always, Always set up your Team Philosophy very first thing when you enter the mode, it makes a MASSIVE difference in players overalls and potentials and really changes the entire outlook of the team. Whether you want to set them up to maximize your current team’s overalls or what you want your team to be good at (ideal) always do those first thing.
5- Always prioritize potential first, and then learning attribute in players bc you can’t really upgrade those (unless you upgrade potential using the Philosophy page) so keep those two in mind.

I dont know what you know about the draft classes, they get selected on wed of the last week of preseason(so week 4 I think). Make sure you save before that day in a separate save. There are 4 different 15 year draft paths, one is way better than the rest. All 4 have their strengths and weaknesses but the ones with Jake English(QB) or Ozzie Jones(HB) in the first draft are the best. Its absolutely important to decide if you want better hbs or qbs, wrs are plentiful in all of the paths. QB with Jake English has the most great qbs throughout, the Ozzie Jones HB class has the best rbs.
I know it would take a lot of time but I really think you should play nfl 2k5 and try to make the rosters modern

Also, as soon as you get some more points, you need to go to the BOTTOM of the special skills, there's something called ambition which you didn't get, spent a lot of points on skills. You would have saved money on all of them if you just bought ambition first. Would have started with less points for the development but you save so many points on special skills the rest of the way...
