- I went back and played EA's NFL Head Coach for almost 50 hours. I know I titled it as a retrospective, but the more I look at it... It feels more likely that it was just my experience playing NFL Head Coach for one season, but that may or may not be a future video. I hope you enjoyed.

I thought the same, but I figured it was either Softdrink or Ryan Moody. Both make really good videos and this one is really good as well.
I actually played this game. I guess I was one of the few that bought it. I enjoyed it for what it was. It was nice to have a different experience and since I’m disabled, I felt a bit like if I was ever going to be in football this would be how so I tried to be really good at it.
I still bust out NFL Head Coach 09 from time to time...I wish they would do an updated version
That 06 draft class was goated yet a lot didn’t leave up to their expectations
I know I dumped a ton of tons into this game around 5th and sixth grade after not touching it much for a year or 2. It was pretty fun and I think I got to 7th best coach. But I lost that memory card… my teams were usually solid teams who’d make the playoffs, but would often get bounced out of the playoffs, I woke back to back Super Bowls with my second job with the Colts… it became much tougher to win once Peyton retired
I remember this game as a teenage kid growing up, I enjoyed it a lot! It was different at the time & fresh
This is for a more cerebral (or thinking persons) football game
This was a remarkably fun game and it would pop off if released today. Basically a more visual OOTP for football

I loved this game it was a great philosophical start.
I play Madden Franchise CPU vs CPU. Would love to call plays, but Madden sucks. I only play it through EA Play.
All this needs to be in Madden 24
as a fan of football manager (soccer) i could translate that game in particular was what EA wanted to go for in terms of market. unfortunately i think this game was a little ahead of its time as madden still had decent franchise modes then. as a longtime franchise fan, i can tell you id love this game now even more than i did then as madden as fallen off (especially if it was at a slightly cheaper price point)

Josh Looman wasn't alone in making this game, but this was one of his babies for sure. I spoke to him about this game and HC09, and he was well aware that the problem of both titles is that the payoff of watching the computer flounder about is a total erection killer. Even if all the work leading into games was fun, which it isn't, the payoff is the worst feeling of all.
I have had more fun with my Madden 2002 franchise where I act like a GM and just let the CPU play the CPU each week than I ever had playing HC & HC09.
Half a million not bad for that kind of game.
From my time playing, I've found that your players regress when your Positional Coach OFF/DEF scheme doesn't match your chosen scheme. The game has a kind of a complex progression system. included in the progression is the amount of practice they get a week and how well (stats) they do in a game as well as other smaller things like age. Awesome game I loved this ! It's a great game for ps2 .. wish madden used some of things in this game into madden franchise..
It was absolutely a fun game. The load times can get annoying after awhile, but there was so much potential here! It's definitely one of my childhood games I like to go back and play every once in awhile.

Yeah, there's a definite learning curve in the beginning. It's much slower than Madden, but I still enjoyed most of the extra detail, even if some of it wasn't useful.
@@dyn-chise that wasn’t really the problem for me, problem would be losing every game i tried & it freezing alot
To be honest, this game is tedious. Fun concept but extremely tedious.
madden 25 is simply the game
