- Hayyyyy!!! How is your summer going? ♥ We drove to California all the way from Maryland! It took us 5 days / 2,730.6 miles :O It was exhausting but fun! In the vlog we haven't gotten any of our applications approved but we just heard that we did get approved on the house I keep mentioning at the end, so we are super excited! :D We'll be moving in this coming weekend. Woohoo!

Brian Lloyd This is why we're so cocky. Our ancestors escaped England's rule then traversed across treacherous territory. The U.S. is comprised of many different temperate climates and local accents. Each state is like its own country with its own laws. We have rivalries but bind together as one. ☺
Marie Maidyn our accent also changes and does by traveling 30 minutes to another area somewhere, the fact that US have different laws in each state can be both a good and bad thing, and isnt america like super divided right now?

All these comments are saying you shouldnt live in california, but you couldnt have picked a better place in CA to live. Sacramento is a city but its much smaller than most. Its two hours away from the mountains one way and two hours away from the beach the other. Also the amount of russian speaking people here is quite outrageous, sometimes i think theres too many of them. I hope you enjoy living here just as much as i do😊 We welcome you with love!!!!!
Marcia, yes, these are the exact important things that we found very enticing plus the weather! No humidity!!! Lakes, mountains, ocean all in under 2 hour drive!!! We are away from the busy area, it's in a quiet suburbs of Sacramento that is more affordable and private. 😍
Marcia I know everyone hates on Cali their just jealous. You are going to love it here.
Also prepare yourself for 100 degrees or higher during summer.

They say that when your root chakra is blocked (so when you feel scared, lost, like you don't belong anywhere, or are under so much financial stress you don't know how you'll pay for food and bills) then all the other chakras get blocked up, too, because the root chakra comes first. So when you don't feel secure, you can't even start being creative, productive, loving, expressive, reasonable, or spiritual. All you can do is just be anxious. Not being able to do all of that makes you feel so LOST because all of that makes you who you are. You are absolutely safe and loved

Sacramento is a garbage town. Statically it's one of the worst towns in california. I've lived here for 15 years and have lived all over california and the west coast and the only people that say Sacramento is a nice/cool place to live have never lived anywhere else.
The Game Zombie there are way worse towns in Sacramento!! Stockton.. Fresno.. Bakersfield.. anywhere between Sacramento and LA is trash😂

I've lived in California all my life and the Sacramento area for most of it. Sacramento is the best area in California in my opinion. Just a couple hours from the mountains or beach, and the city of Sacramento has a great feel and energy that I haven't found anywhere else in California. I hope you both love it as much as I do!

I commented on your last video about my own cross country move, and you replied (which was so exciting!). I actually was born and raised in the Sacramento area (specifically Davis) and am still living here until Sunday, when I move to South Carolina. I can't believe you're coming to my neck of the woods! If you're stressed out, you need to check out The Rind wine and cheese bar in midtown! They make fancy grilled cheeses and mac and cheese and serve delicious wine and it would definitely cheer you up if you're still feeling down! Deveres is a great Irish pub, there's also one in my town in Davis. Selland's Market is really delicious! Make sure to check out Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe once you're settled in, it's so gorgeous :) OH and Apple Hill is super fun to visit in the fall! It's near Placerville, which you must have driven through on your way in to Sacramento.

Masha, I have so much respect for you and Darryl! A few years ago my fiance and I were in a position where we had to hit the road and move to a different place. We had to run because we didn't have a home to come back to, we had each other and not much else, but it was all that mattered. By sharing this incredible journey with Darryl you will become so much stronger and it will bring you closer to each other, I am sure. It's hard to find a new home, to start from scratch, but you came through! You two are incredible individuals! I hope you are going to be happy in sunny California, please vlog! Love love love!

My husband and I went on vacation to Las Vegas one Thanksgiving and didn't think to book a room. Everything was sold out. Luckily we finally got a room in a funny motel with red velvet walls. We were lucky because it was the only thing available in town! Anyway, welcome to California! My mom lived in Sacramento as a girl and my grandmother when I was very young.

You didn't stop at the big weird tree statue right before entering Nevada...? 😉 I have taken that drive to California so many times! I recognize the tunnel in Battle Mountain, NV. Aren't the Sierra Mountains gorgeous?? We ALWAYS roll down our windows when we reach the "Welcome to California" sign to breathe in the California air. Ahhhhh! Isn't it amazing?

Congrats on your move! I am from Stockton, CA. You should stay away from there. Too much crime. Read the crime and 911 reports on www.recordnet.com. That's their daily newspaper. You'll see why we moved. Sacramento is nice, and so is the Bay Area. San Francisco is so much fun. You can catch the BART in Pleasanton and ride it in so you don't have to worry about traffic and parking. Happy adventures! Stay safe!

I'm glad you're happy with your move but I would never drive somewhere with no plan, lol. That's a recipe for a panic attack. California is so busy and full of way too many people.

lucifer's lettuce Eh, I moved to NYC with no plan and it worked out just fine. Slight learning curve because I was coming from the West Coast, but I knew everything was going to be fine and I found a place pretty quickly.
southern california is, northern california, particularly the north coast in mendocino and humboldt counties, are some of the most beautiful places in the world. Ive been to over seven countries, tons of cities, and Arcata, Cali is still the most beautiful. Go visit and you'll feel differently.
I moved to Toronto, Canada at 19 alone, not knowing a soul. I lived in a motel for a month before finding an apartment. I ended up buying a condo 3 years later & enjoyed the diversity of the city. My Mother & her Sister moved from Ontario, Canada to LA when they were in their early 20's. My Mom ended up coming back, my Aunt has been there 60+ years now. My Mom moved back to the LA area when I moved to Toronto. My own 21 yr old Daughter booked a plane ticket to Calgary, Alberta from Ontario not knowing a soul as well. She ended up getting a job over skype before she left which had accommodations. She's been there for 2 years now, in Banff, Alberta. So 3 generations of women who just followed their hearts & moved on a whim.

Maria works strictly off RUclips. I think daryl has a type of job that's everywhere so he will find something good. I thought they were moving to Virginia because they loved it so much and that's the only place I heard them say they wanted to move. But I hope Cali works out good for them

I've lived here for almost 5 years and I want to move so bad, lol. The bay area is probably worse than Sac but I doubt by much.
Almost 50 million people statewide, a diverse climate from dessert to beaches to mountains, and an economy sixth in the world: there's a reason people come here and why it is pricey. Every place has its good and bad. California is pretty awesome and pretty crazy.
I've lived here my entire life. It's okay. The beach and State parks are about 1 1/2 from where I live. So whatever way you go you'll find something to do.
Violet Ann I actually thought the same thing...I live on the east coast in southern New England, and California is the absolute last state I would move to ! Waaaaay waay too expensive and much too crowded, even worse than here if you can believe it! I also think its crazy to go to a new place without housing set up ahead of time, I would never do that in a million yrs....Just my 2 cents that's all!!
I'm originally from MI and I lived in NJ. Then I moved to Southern CA and it was my best decision. Everything has to do with location. There are less crowded places and less expensive places. You have to do research. It was more expensive in NJ than here.

My husband and I drove across the country together 4 years ago, from Connecticut to Oregon, and your trip reminded me of ours so much! It was really fun, and we made a lot of cool stops along the way, but yeah, moving 3,000 miles can be stressful and we also didn't know anyone out here. But since then, we got married, and are loving our new life. I'm excited for the two of you to start having your own west coast adventures. Much love, muahs!

I moved from Florida to California 2 years ago by myself. It's a huge adjustment and still feels lonely at times, but I love it here and glad I took the chance. You guys will be fine ❤️❤️
