1:42 if you actually listen to what Tony is saying instead of focusing on the heat of the moment. He’s 100% being a father figure here. The fact that he’s taking the time to personally call him and tell him how good he was doing was nice.
Also, in their two talks, Tony mentioned the lady who gave Peter a churro, and knows that Peter quit the school band. He WAS listening the whole time, just didn't think he needed to spell it out. That's when he realized he's repeating his own father's generation-gap mistakes and made the call in the first place.
The thing that confuses me with the call is that Peter can see Tony’s face, but then what is Tony seeing?

I love this whole sequence because it dhows how inexperienced and full of tunnel vision Peter is. He put himself in a position where he had a major disadvantage despite knowing his opponent can fly and a spot where it’s very easy for other people to get hurt. A mistake he never repeats again going forward.

I'm not sure if anybody has made this known, but if not, then I would like to underline just how impressive Peter holding the entire Ferry together truly is. The Staten Island Ferry that Peter held together for several seconds or so is called the Spirit of America (it's name is also displayed around the 4:00 mark), a real-life Ferry one can ride between Staten Island and Manhatten, and according to George G. Sharp, Inc., the company that designed said Ferry, it weighs 3,200 tons. Peter managed to hold together 1,600 tons of metal with each hand! That's f*cking insane. He had some help from the webs that were still attached to each half, but still impressive. I learned this from the Imaginary Axis's "How strong is Spider-Man?" video starting at the 8:18 mark.

Tony being a father figure to Peter is just bliss
If he wasn't in the middle of an ambush, Peter probably would have over the moon over having his favorite hero and mentor proclaiming himself his father figure. Low-key, I would have loved to see Tony and Peter interact more and see how their bond developed to the point of Tony actually allowing Peter to be near aliens in IW
Curious how this would have gone that much differently if Spider-Man had not been there. The FBI would have been seriously out gunned against Vulture and his group. Even if Tony had been there they would have seen massive collateral damage
Maybe but the other thing is if the FBI busted it then the vulture wouldn’t have been able to get to his suit because they were alerted of the bust by Spider-Man so he got down early before the FBI showed up

These were the ones that impressed me a lot:
-Peter webbing the split ferry together
-The last battle with Mysterio on the bridge
I think there pretty good web slinging scenes, but in my opinion Andrew Garfield has the best web slinging in any Spider-Man movie

If 50 webs were unable to deal with the less drastic starting position, the 2 that he throws out afterwards would snap immediately.
This scene is fantastic, under every aspect. Acting is perfect , gotta love that Morty-like accent. CGI is top notch and doesn't look fake at all. And let's not even start talking about the directorial style finesse, cause i could keep going for hours.
This movie clearly deserves the success it had, and it should be forever regarded as one of the most classic movies ever made.

I just realized we can deduce how tony managed to be there. He just got back from India and was en route back to the avengers compound. When he heard the boat horn, he tried to locate peter's suit (which didn't work obviously or at least he was calling peter to discuss why the tracker wasn't working), he then had Friday figure out what the sound was, and when things got really bad he went directly to new york city.
also, he could've been in regular contact with the FBI over the investigation. Meaning he knew about the ferry deal, and they asked him to be on stand by in case he was needed.
If Tony knew about the ferry deal (which high chances are yes since he made the call), it’s possible he put the pieces together after hearing the boat horn on peters call. It doesn’t take a genius, and Tony already is lol

I grew up on Tobey’s movies and I’ve been a Spider-Man fan since 2008 and watched all the movies and cartoons, read some comic books here and there and played the video games and with all of that I know that Tom is the most accurate Peter Parker and Spider-Man. He’s witty, he’s charismatic, he’s enthusiastic, he’s awkward, he’s shy, and he’s funny that’s what Peter Parker/Spider-Man is supposed be and Tobey and Andrew lack that. I’m not going to be bias on nostalgia and say Tobey’s the best because he’s not! And Andrew is definitely not the best, he wasn’t Awkward or shy he acted cool, he rode a skateboard in the hallways and definitely was not a nerd. But Andrew was a decent Spider-Man he was definitely funny but that doesn’t make up for his Peter. Tobey was a good Peter Parker by being awkward and shy but he wasn’t a good Spider-Man because he was too serious and would rarely make jokes. Tom is GREAT at both Tom is awkward and shy and gets nervous about small things like in Homecoming how he acted around Liz, he was dork by getting excited for building legos with Ned and hanging out with the Avengers. Tom acts the most youngest out of the 3 like Peter Parker should. His Spider-Man is the BEST OF ALL TIME (along with PS4 and Spectacular Spider-Man) because he was the most friendly neighborhood Spider-Man out of the 3, he helped old lady with directions, he saved a cat from a fire, he fought ATM robbers, he stopped someone from stealing a bike, he tried to stop a car thief, he fought thugs, he tried his best to save innocent peoples lives on the fiery. After all Stan the man Lee who created the character himself said Tom’s the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker and his personal favorite.

Experiencing the Ferry Fight Scene from Spider-Man: Homecoming with captions was absolutely riveting! 🕷💥 Tom Holland and Michael Keaton's performances, combined with the intense action and added context from the captions, had me fully invested in every moment. What a ride!
This scene reminds of The Amazing Spider-man issue #27 when Spider-man fights a bunch of criminals at a dock and fights the Green Goblin, this scene also reminds me of The Amazing Spider-man issue #11 when Spider-man puts a tracker on Betty Brant and Doc Ock and it leads him to a boat where he fights Doc Ock and then they end up crashing the boat and destroying it like similar to how Spider-man and Vulture fought and destroyed the ferry.
Turns out if he would have been 100 successful in his web shooting he would have saved the ship successfully

Now that this trilogy is complete I’m satisfied with this scene and how it played out. However it would have been really cool if he was honest with tony , and took on vulture and shocker for a little while. To the point where he gets overwhelmed, and tony arrives on time. Then vulture and shocker would have left by destroying the ferry. Pete would have 98% saved everyone but iron man had to help him still. Then Peter would have stressed about not being able to be good enough. And be hard on himself. Maybe tony would kind of advise him he can’t be perfect and save everyone

idk it messes too much with the main point of the movie which is that peter has to realize that he shouldnt take vulture down bc he wants to be an avenger but instead bc he genuinely wants to protect people. he wants to become a hero for the wrong reasons and taking away his suit makes him fully acknowledge that (and emphasize his willpower to do the right thing)
