A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero. I’ve watched this movie a good few times. Never noticed the first web ricocheted off the roof of the elevator.
Yeah I had a huge problem with that. 1 is web it should have just stuck 2 he can shoot it make it ricochet and it can catch up to the METAL ELEVATOR WITH 3 people….. But Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man’s web (which is a shooter like Tom Hollands) can’t reach Gwen Stacy in time??!?! Yeah that is something that’s hard to overlook.

@@kellylerma4937Different Spider-Men, different webshooters, different types of webs and different scenarios.
In Tom's case, the elevator had a long way to fall so his webbing has time to reach them + it webs the elevator so no one was killed.
In Andrew's case, Gwen was already close to hitting the ground and he webbed her body instead of grabbing her and webbing the wall (which Spider-Man usually does) and this causes her death. Even if he "saved" her with his web, the sudden stop would've broke her neck or spine just like in the comics. Speaking of the comics, Gwen dying is a canon event so she dies no matter what :/
You forget that Tom Holland isn’t even American and his NY accent is damn near perfect. It’s funnier when he lays it on thick in this scene

I tend to forget there are good scenes in the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. He's my favourite Spider-Man but his solo films have been lacklustre. This sequence was so well done - both suspenseful and genuinely funny.
No Way Home was one of the best movies in MCU and it wasn't just because of Tobey and Andrew appearing

I think I can finally watch this scene without my acrophobia. Why was Ned so stupid as not to listen to Peter? Why didn't MJ or any of the others recognize Peter's voice as Spiderman? I suppose the reason was the stress and fast pace so no one had time to notice.
Just a note: Tom forgot the name of the monument on one show...really? How could an Englishman forget Washington?
Probably, though MJ did say in Far From Home that ever since the Washington Monument rescue, she suspected that Peter is Spider-Man.

Peter’s in a hurry to run over there. I don’t know why people aren’t making the character more resourceful with how he travels. There are no high building for him to swing from in order to get to the monument so he runs to the monument. But instead of doing that, the guy had powers of jumping great distances. Why not just jump and web the ground in front of him while he’s airborne and web zip forward like from the games. Makes up from lack of swingable building to swing from; it’s only common sense.
Because those are video games that are even further from realistic physics than movies
@@invert8505 I’m not talking about the games. I am talking about the movies. The movies clearly showed that the jumping spider is one of the spiders crossed into a single spider that bit Peter. And considering that Tobey jumped across the roof of building when first discovering his powers and Tom clearly jumping over a fence before going on his first patrol as Spider-Man at the beginning of this film, it is clear that jumping is incorporated in his powers. Therefore he should be able to use it.
@@francostevo9939 have you ever tried jumping to a location compared to running? runnings always been faster, tobey and andrew are never seen jumping to a location unless they need to parkour its always web slinging or running

I have a big issue with this scene because of how slow peter is moving. the pace at which he climbs the tower is way to slow compared to how fast he can move in the comics. plus he can run on just his feet while climbing a building like that when the situation calls, ie this situation
He is a amateur at this time. So yeah he would be fast in future but as he said this was the first time he climbed sooo high
@@akshaydixit7554 Isn't one of his powers/abilities supposed to be a complete lack of fear of heights though? Also found it a bit weird that he said he'd never been so high before when the Washington monument is "only" 169 metres tall. For reference, that Empire State stands at 443 m and the Chrysler building at 319 m. Manhattan has 274 skyscrapers that are over 150 m tall. I think it was all just a script tool to stall him and add a challenge/sense of urgency to the scene.
