- Inspiration can come from all sorts of places.
Whether is CS:GO, League or Valorant, pros can be driven by anything by the desire to be the best to getting revenge on their haters.
But going into Worlds 2023, League of Legends superstar Ryu "Keria" Min-Seok had a little extra motivation.
Sure, he wanted to win, but he also wanted to meet his favourite K-Pop idols. NewJeans were performing at Worlds, and he was ready to push his limits, both to lift the trophy and to get his merch signed.
So, how does one of the greatest League players in the world go from crying on stage to stanning his idols before lifting the trophy? Why does League’s mechanical king play support of all roles? And did Keria get to finally live out his dream of hanging out with Kpop stars?

He literally won worlds then after the event, went home, streamed to watch the finals new jeans performance
Them streaming while watching the whole thing was so funny, they couldn't sleep due to how excited and hyped they still were.
He was more hyped seeing New jeans and being literally on stage with them than actually winning worlds

@@daveydoodz That one really gets me. Last year's run for T1, "The last light of the LCK burns bright in Busan" is at the top of my list for me, folowed by "It is not LPL vs LCK, it is T1 vs the LPL and they like those odds!".
The line "last light of LCK..." wasn't given the spotlight it should have, I PERSONALLY feel that line is ONE OF THE BEST in last year's worlds.

Funny thing is when T1 and New Jeans meet for promotion, Faker jokingly said he will hide Keria’s new jean merch until Finals and gave it back if they won 😂😂
Keria is an innovative who studies and adapts the meta, he can conduct experiments to these seasonal metas like a scientist and be successful of it, such a fucking genius player the only player which I witnessed how he carried frequently the greatest League team in pro scene.
BeryL is more experimental than Keria but Keria has the skill to execute, BeryL can be an inter sometimes
remember one if his interview,.hi reminded solo q players to not do what his doing, he said he is only successfull cuz he have teamates like t1.,he his genius but it wont work unless you have insane teamates like t1

the common things about recent support champions recently is: they fight for something definitely not the champion title. Meiko is his cat, Beryl is for Elysia (and the gacha money), and Keria now is NewJeans.

After the breakdown on stage last year it was awesome to see him come back this year and enjoy himself on stage. He earned it.
keria 100% has the talent and potential to be the best support of all time. he just needs to stock up on the accolades now. the first worlds trophy was a good start.
If he plays at about the same level he has in the last 3 years (averaged, not peak), he could win 0 trophies and will still be the best. Trophies matter somewhat but they don't make or break greatness, longevity at the highest level does.

@@blobitz9648fair enough, i agree with the longevity, but i do think a few more trophies will help. his skillset is just unmatched. hope he stays in form (and selfishly, in t1) for a long long time and becomes immortal as a support.
@@forg_tful. I don't disagree at all. More trophies can only be a good thing and they certainly show aspects of greatness like clutch factor.
I just hope that if he plays out the rest of his career at his current stellar level and somehow sadly doesn't win, history doesn't ignore him as the Goat support because I think he'll still deserve it.

keria was the reason I started watching pro play back when I was maining support. He is very enjoyable to watch and to finally win worlds to cement his status makes me very happy
hanni waved to him and did the fighting gesture and he was sooo happy. that pretty much ensured he would play a perfect series.

I watch the T1 video for their semi and final. Keria basically is the mastermind behind the drafting for most of the games. His rivalry with Beryl is amazing.
It's really unfortunate that Riot does not let World winners pick skins for champs they did not play at Worlds. I get wanting the skins to represent moments at that year's biggest event, but I feel like winners should be able to choose champs that represent themselves best. Not everyone is Faker who'll get multiple skins, for most pros this is a one-time-thing. They should be allowed to cement their legacy in any way they wish.
I disagree, that will make world skin less prestigious if players can choose any champ. But I frown at riot refusing some champ skin requested by player due to their skin future plan. It's difficult enough to win it, then they can't even pick what they've played.
@@KaramelLife How would it make a world skin less prestigious? The player is still winning the hardest and most prestigious tournament in LoL. They'd only get 1 per win still, they just can choose a champ that has true meaning to them rather than one that fit the meta of the tournament.
T1 with worlds buff+Keria with Newjeans buff was truly unstoppable.

It is a mistake to say that support doesnt require as much skill as other roles...supports then to use like 4 activation items, keep warding score, fight vision, score hard skillshots meanwhile giving space to the adc, I think its one of the most complicated roles to play
