I’ve played guitar for 25+ years. And I can’t nail this song like you can. This next generation has no idea how easy they have it when it comes to things like learning guitar due to where technology is at. My generation had to do it by ear. Trial, and lots of error. 2024 and this machine of a guitar player (seriously you’re playing is so on point my friend, I hope you’re getting recognition for it somewhere) plays along with absolute precision, AND spells it out with tabs!! Why isn’t everyone coming out of school proficient in at least one instrument now??
well said, but i think its better to learn things the old way through ear. and is it neccesary to learn every exact note of ones playing? i feel like the style and feel is more important
Yeah it's truly great, although everyone eventually has to learn music by ear it's really a requisite for great musicality. There's sooo many songs that aren't as famous as Bold As Love that don't have any sort of musical notation online so at the end of the day it's still essential.
Yeah, both valid points. Like anything though, time plus the introduction of such technology should, logically speaking, pave an easier path for future generations to hopefully combine the two. I agree that one shouldn’t replace the other. Learning by ear forces you to be more intuitive with your playing and perhaps more tonally aware, whereas following something linear like tabs/learning apps will show you the ‘map’, but in itself won’t teach the nuances that seperate a great guitarist from a passable one.
@@chaos4316 For sureeee! I'm so lucky I grew up with tabs and video content. In four years of playing I've made massive strides, enough to be invited to accompany professional musicians. I am certain that without the help of technology and music scores I would never have progressed so quickly, especially since I put at most 4h a day into playing, since I have a completely unrelated office profession. There's also the fact that even learning music by ear today is easier with video looping/slowdowns etc, I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to learn a song by ear pre internet.
Thanks for this great learning tool: after months of practise I can finally play the notes. But...... I still can't get the "feel". I guess you've either "got it" or not....
@@RafNCheese yeah thats right im always tuned Down a half step but it sound like f but it looks like a major its like srv couldnt stand the Weather when hes doing the shuffle it looks like d but its e or c#minor pentatonic
