- Get rid of that RV oven and upgrade to a modern air fryer and 3 burner cook top!
With safety always first, have a qualified electrician add any electrical work and use a qualified service provider to make your gas line connections. Your local propane provider, local RV center or even your HVAC company can help you.
In this video, we are going to evaluate the RECPRO.COM 3 burner cook top Model # RP-2217. Хобби
We actually had this planned before we saw the video with the same Cusinart , we did buy a similar top. However I pulled out a Dometic oven and will need to lower the base about 2 1/4 inches to get it to fit with the 4 inch gas top. Not sure if the sliding shelf is needed but we did buy one.
I'm in the process of modifying our Cherokee Park model 39T trailer exactly the same as this mod. Only difference is I'm using a Ninja Foodi XL Pro Digital Convection Air Fryer Toaster Oven instead of the Cusinart oven. The Ninja oven is slightly larger but the recommended electronics drawer is a perfect fit for the Ninja oven. The side mounting rails on the drawer have an adjustable length so I don't see the need for the plywood shelf addition.
I was looking for a new range/stove, glad I watched this video. I had no idea the ovens had those issues with burning stuff.
Great Video with a great workaround for not having to buy an oven that is rarely used. Looks and fits perfect in the RV
Great video. Just ordered the same cook top. At least now I will have a space for my toaster oven below it. Thanks for the video.
i would love to see this idea with a counter top dishwasher 😊
Excellent video, first one I found, and the only one I'll need apparently, got my stuff ordered now. Thanks!
Get a pizza stone and place it on the metal tray over the burner in the oven. Make sure the holes around the edges of the tray are not covered. Had a problem with some things cooking unevenly or flat out burning, until I put a pizza stone in. Works great now. Also cheaper than replacing your oven, if you're on a budget.
Great video! I need to get this. Mine needs replacing.
Coolest.thing.EVER! TYSM! 💓
I've got the same oven, none of my food burns in there. Sounds like a skill issue
Nice. But I just bought a 21" GE profile drop in range. I hear they work great. Will find out soon
Great video and idea. Was the cast iron top put on backwards? Just wondering if it lined up with the 3 burners that way. This is a great idea I might have to implement.
Yep, good eye. Hoping I was the only one who caught that!
Skip the sliding rack and keep the oven in place while cooking. Easy. The top of the cavity is a heat resistant cook top.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Please keep in mind that every air fryer oven manufacture has minimum requirements top, bottom and sides to combustible's. My oven cavity did not meet those requirements therefore I had to install the sliding tray to use when cooking.
@@SafeTravelRV I’m using a Ninja SP101, the one that flips up for easy cleaning. It’s exceptionally popular for good reason. With the oven gone, it has plenty of vertical space to put pans or cutting boards and there is about 1 inch of clearance on either side of the unit. After baking for 25 minutes, the inside panels of the cavity were barely warm to the touch. You are right, it depends on the unit, but even if another unit was half as insulated as my ninja, I feel confident it’s likely to be fine. YMMV
Al - Great video! We’re upgrading to bigger camper and I HATE the idea of a traditional oven. But I have one problem: I cannot locate the black “grip premium” liner you show at the end. Is that a Con-tac product?
Home Depot in the carpet section. Shelf liner.
I plan to do a very similar upgrade - do you think the original Furrion oven/stove could be taken apart and the original stove top be used? THANKS
Hi, my first thought is that it would be more trouble than it’s worth. You would have to separate the gas lines supplying the cooktop and oven, probably do some sheet metal work and add a heat shield. The replacement I recommended drops right in!
how did you find this worked out for your power consumption? Is this only able to be used while plugged in or do you have a battery system and converter that can handle the power draw?
As everyone’s 12v power supply varies, it’s hard to answer exactly . On my Class C with 2 -100amp lithium batteries and an alternator that charges those batteries, i leave it on all the time. The video talks about power consumption near the beginning. you can search how to determine battery consumption based on watts per hour. Just remember that lead acid batteries and AGM batteries should only be discharged to 50%. Lithium more like 15%. So a 100 amp lead acid battery has only 50 amps of useable power.
love it! But it is pronounced quee-zen-art
I would like to remove my oven and make it a large storage area for pots and pans. I would also like to remove the microwave and replace it with a convection one. Can you do a video on this?
How close are you to the Atlanta area?! We could do yours and video it! If you can find a convection MW that would fit your current opening , it would be pretty straightforward.
The extra countertop space where the stove will be removed would be a great additional work surface and that would certainly require some custom work .
Safetravelrv, where are you located in the Atlanta area? Do you do modifications ?
What is that tape called that most rv manufacturers sell to match the color of wood?
Packing slip called it “Seam Tape.”
@@SafeTravelRV Okay thank you! This is really useful for diy projects.
Gas…nope
