I've had this camera for over 6 months and it has saved me incredible amount of time in the video process and editing process as well. So glad I got this camera!
@@richardw3347 the one thing it does really well is coordinate the video and the sound together by itself. So that I don't have to render it with another software. Walked out of Best Buy debating between the Canon M50 and the Sony ZV-1 and now I’m sold on the Sony. I have a Canon Rebel T7 that was mainly for photos but I just started making RUclips and it’s just a pain for me to make videos with the lack of focus and the videos aren’t able to automatically convert to mp4 files. The zv1 is just better than the M50 is every single department aside for the fact that the lens isn't interchangeable. But wgo cares when you have a decent in built lense that ranges from 24-70mm. The kit lens on the canon absolutely sucks anyway, so to buy the equivalent of the lens that Sony uses, you're gonna have to invest a whole lot more money. Sony ZV-1 for the win
How is overheating for the Sony? Cause that’s what ALWAYS turns me away from it. BUT I got the canon g7x mark iii a couple days ago and the autofocus is beyond HORRIBLE. I’m at a crossroads

Can you recommend this as an upgrade or not? Im hesitating if I am the vlogger or artsy video maker ;p for me the lightness of the camera also plays a big role: I get neck aches from mine if I carry it on my travels each day.
Just found your channel. Very impressed with this review!😁 I was not aware that added different lenses was not an option for this camera. But, I mostly plan to use this (if I were to get it) as my Streaming cam, and for fun photos or vlogging. You did mention this would be ideal for those type of users. But, I am curious if there is any additional advantages to having a DSLR for use as a cam for at-desk videos/streaming/vlogging? Would love to hear that comparison before I finalize my purchase decision. 🤔
Wait, I’m confused, you’re saying you can spend less and get better video and picture quality with a DSLR? And which iPhone are you saying is worse quality?

how good is the audio when recording, and playback???
stellar!
Thanks for the information. I've been looking at this camera for awhile. I have the Sony A6500 and GoPro 6. I like to travel but find that I carry too much equipment. One of the features I like is the size of the camera. I will wait for a good sale.
I haven't gotten this camera yet, But would it be good for filming trains? I have been trying to find a camera for MONTHS to replace my iPhone, and this ZV-1 looks good. Would it be worth it?
Amazing video really needed to see this! Appreciate you commenting on the audio which is a major concern for me. How can I get the best audio shooting with this camera?
External rode mic
this is a great video! Do you have a recommended external mic for this camera?
Hi can you suggest me which one is better for taking photo . This one or canan m50 markii?
The zv-1 has a hotshoe which is awesome. That means you can use an OCF with it. I use it as a compact livestream setup. My setup is a rx100vi + yolobox + hollyland mars 300 pro on cam1 and the zv-1 + hollyland on cam 2
Yo! This video is Awesome! Thank you for this in depth Review. I've been bouning in-between both for my vlogs, but this is def. the one I will get.

Looking at this vs the a6400. I think I want the removable lenses but at the same time, the zv-1 is so compact! Kick @ss video!
This video is beneficial. I'm looking for an excellent traveling point-and-shoot camera for vacationing and occasional videos. Is this a good camera for me? Thanks for your input.
How do I record with out crop? This definitely still crops when filming and sometimes I want more of a background while walking and vlogging don’t really want such a close up of my face
there is a lens attachment I think about 50 bucks that makes it extra wide so crop does not cut up much of the scene. 🙂
Thank you for this review! I really want to be more consistent with vlogging so I have been looking at so many cameras!
Is there any Sony ZV-2 version will come ?
What if you have no camera before and you want to buy one which should you go for?, that is good for video and photos? please I need advice
Nice video!
I have 2 questions
1-can I do modium dark night time photos in without or with flash photography ?
2-can I connect to iPhone ?
Thanks
Love all ur reviews bud! Although if I’m not wrong in 4K the lens does act more like. a 30mm and not a 24mm.....which isn’t the case when shooting in HD. of course ur definitely more experienced than I am! So please correct me! But u nailed this review and how. I actually got into making tech reviews after watching ur channel! For a while😁 as a matter of fact I’ve legit watched ur cannon 90d / cannon m50 videos a bunch of time before I started 😁
Wonderful review I was intending to buy it , I just want ask how good beauty filters it have?? How good sound quality is? And external mic input?
Thank you for this video!🙏❤️
I have been wanting to make a workout program with professional video quality
...which camera (not too expensive) would you suggest for someone who knows nothing about cameras?😂 Like that I can buy and start filming right away without having to buy any additional stuff ect.
Question about the video aspects of the camera: Does it save long videos in 10 minute segments or does it just have continuous recording?
Continuous recording :)
Great camera but how I suppose to hold it with right hand in vlog mode without any grip?
Oooo that’s a good question!!! I didn’t even think about that!!!
Are there any differences between the black and white versions of the ZV 1?
No just color
At 2:35 you can really see the difference in the hair. In the Sony you can see more of the strands and waves. In the Canon, your hair looks like one big mass.
Hi River, thank you for this informative video, can you please make a video on best budget full frame cameras??
Hey! I have a sony hx400v. Video editing is a big hobby for me, and I like to make travel videos (with artsy nature shots and all) for RUclips and for myself. Can you recommend this as an upgrade or not?
Im hesitating if I am the vlogger or artsy video maker ;p for me the lightness of the camera also plays a big role: I get neck aches from mine if I carry it on my travels each day.
Does it over heat bad
Where did you get the g7x mark II for $430?
This camera or Sony A6000 when it comes to picture quality pics? .
ZV-1 for video, but for purely photography, the A6000
I love your reviews!!!
Thankyou so much :)
Oh, and forgot to mention. I have never owned a camera, outside of a webcam. So I am excited to learn about this sort of thing.😁
Did you find anything out?
Is this camera good for podcasts and interviews?
Wait, I’m confused, you’re saying you can spend less and get better video and picture quality with a DSLR? And which iPhone are you saying is worse quality?
How about mic jack ? dose ZV1 have one ?
it has
Hi There, what did you use to record audio on this review?
Great video, very good review, thanks.
