You approach obstacles as if you had lockers. Too slow, with inconsistent trottle. You stop, then try to start again on the whoops, just roll back and send it a little harder (Fast as necessary). Momentum is your friend, plus wheels need rotation speed for traction control to be effective. Babying it... I mean the lack of send is hurting rather than keeping things safe. When you stop, and try to get going again truck starts to bounce, that's when things start to break @8:18. Btw front end articulation looking sick with the Titan swap. I like the way your build is evolving. Great video.
Yeah, you’re probably right. Since I’ve had so many CV brakes attend to baby at a little bit more, probably causing more harm than good 😬. Once I can keep some spares on hand that should alleviate some of that. Thanks for watching buddy!
Just now came across your channel- good stuff-good friends and good trucks! Thats a nice spot that you have to wheel out your trucks too. So, I am not a certified offroad guy-and not probably as good as anyone I saw on your channel-I feel like I did pick something up watching you guys on the obstacles - I really like your build out and that whole truck-I'm about to go big with a Titan (First gen Tundra right now). Anyway, from where I'm sitting that second gen is badass for sure- but also, he really covers that gas pedal, and I think that has a lot to do with him getting thru-not only that-but it dang sure helps! Have fun and I b looking for the next tour
Watching him climb out of that rut in 2wd made me laugh, because I had to engage 4wd to back up and out of my buddy’s gravel driveway this past weekend. Got to get rid of these factory tires.
I really think just getting more rear articulation from your truck will help tremendously. Lack of droop really hurts on those crossed up sections. Then getting that locker will put the build on another level.
Titan rear shocks will work. I was looking at the Bilstien B8 5160s for the rear which would accommodate a 4in lift on the Frontier in the rear. They have almost the same collapsed lenght as the same shock for the Frontier, but have a couple more inches for extended length which is what you need. I also confirmed with Z1 that the mounts are the same between the titan and Frontier in the rear with a 14mm eye mount
Front locker will be going in after the M205 is ready to go. I really don’t wanna go down in tire size. I’ll try everything I can to make a 35 fit haha
I like the idea of building a long bed lifted on 33s with a Tune topper. It would be my choice if my long bed diesel Colorado were to need replacement now.
I follow the Genright channel as well and what those 40" do is just incredible. Thing is you have to rebuild a vehicle to run them. Leaning to the basic 4x4 Nissan to start out. Guess will be cutting a lot of metal for 35s!
I'm looking at videos trying to decide if I want a new p4x. And I see 4:15 and realize i also really need to finish getting my old j10 truck fixed back up. Lol
I wanna come out and try some wash outs .. I go out to citrus often but never really do anything technical because I am alone and not to much experience ..
Welllllllllll…you got the 18” wheels that’ll run you $1500 or so… you got the 35” tires that’s another $1500 or so..the Titan swap was $2200….hopefully you can do the install yourself, if not most shops are going to run you $150-$180/hr at least a full 7-8hr day… so… idk…you’d probably be into it for $5k give or take..
@4wdAdventurz I appreciate the info. It seems really easy to find Frontiers way below MSRP. I just haven't seen one that I like the look of until seeing yours in this video. Sharp looking truck with that setup.
@@fizzlefox1829 thanks buddy I appreciate that. If you’re just going for the look and not so much the performance, you could probably do it quite a bit less..
Talking about the pro4x's with the e locker I believe someone makes an override switch where you can engage the locker in 4hi and in 2wd. Just thought I would throw that out there. Little mountain🐐 might be interested in something like that.
Yeah I’ve seen a buddy of mine with an Xterra that has it. He uses it often lol. When I’m ready to do lockers, I’m doing air lockers.. I know I went back and forth on air or e but I just like the reliability of the Air locker.

Did you say "daddy"? Getting that rear suspension to flex is key if you don't run lockers....but sounds like you have that in the works. The front has quite a bit of travel for IFS.
A full Titan Swap is swapping the motor and suspension from a Nissan titan to a Nissan frontier. In my case, I have simply swapped the front suspension from a Nissan Titan to my Frontier.
Did alldogs start sending caps over the ball joint with the arms or did he do like me and just order some that would fit. It's not necessarily a bad design just partially finished or parts supplied to customer in my opinion. You have 1 1/2 to 2" of cup to fill with water or mud and it will do it without some kind of cover.
@@calmdownkid yeah you may have seen my comment on silicone because that's what I did before I ordered some caps on Amazon. Hey it worked fine you just have to redo it when you grease or pull them out for whatever reason. I wanted something to stick but not too good, hey it worked.
