I've seen many historic houses left to rot, especially timber frame houses hurt my heart, as they are at times 500 years old, and you can see that they had been taken care of until the last few decades...

I stayed nearby to visit a friend and took a 2 hours ride in the canals. That was so beautiful! Nature is breathtaking! People here taking care of their valuable environment. All over the world you have to take action to prevent pollution und to preserve the beauty of nature!

I have been to Berlin twice since 2002 and each time drove from the city to enjoy the beauty and peace of this magical area. This video captures the charm of the village perfectly.
i live there. it's basicly a poor mans living area historicly. prussian monarchs banned slavic tribes into that area to cultivate it. no potato would grow there so it wasnt seen as good ground to live on. and still today working conditions around the spreewald are one of the poorest and lowest payed. atm this area is surrounded by coalmining and cultivated coal mines were they take the spree's (rivers) water to fill the holes and create a connected lake system. this leaves the river pretty dried up. looks good for tourists but is actually endagered by politics and nothing like a fairytale at all.

I live 30km away and visit the spreewald 3-4 in summertime. Its really, really one of the most beautyfull places on earth. If you visit Germany, its a must have. Greetings from East Germany😉
It is also a wonderful place for cycling! Usually, we spend some days there in September/October when it is even more quiet. And with the fog sometimes chilling.

Ich wohne im Bundesland Brandenburg.Ich weiss nicht wie oft ich damals mit meinen Eltern im Spreewald war.Als ich selber Mama geworden bin "musste " mein Sohn mit.Und was soll ich euch sagen.Er hat sich genau wie ich in diese wundervolle Gegend verliebt.Jedem der unser schönes Deutschland besucht kann ich nur empfehlen:
