The is one of the best talks I've listened to because it addresses (at 15:24) how some are taking the teachings of the Buddha and Thầy on mindfulness but removing the ethics. As Thầy said "mindfulness without ethics is just concentration."
Mindfulness isn't "productivity hack." It is a way to see and address our suffering from the discontent of life, in both ourselves and others. It is a way to generate compassion for both ourselves and others.

Thank you as every Br for sharing these deep teachings and insights. As well as sharing your own trauma and how you have changed the narrative which has been supportive for you to allow healing, with a bow 🙏

Thank you so much Brother Phap Linh, for this thoroughly absorbing, thought provoking talk. I feel I have a deeper understanding of the four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold path and appreciate more the limitations of 'traditional science' after listening to this talk. Thay's presence was so apparent throughout. Thank you to all the brothers and sisters of Plum Village for opening your arms so wide that through your talks and the Plum Village app we can all be embraced!

I've been waiting a long long time to hear a Buddhist teacher say this about Capitalism extracting the useful molecule, mindfulness, from Buddhism. Many thanks.

    Gracías!
I love the Plum Village App, and use the Mindfulness Bell everyday from 9a-8p. It's good to pause and observe the state of my mind, take 3 breaths, set a loving intention, and return with more genuine presence to a task.
I also appreciate our need for wholesome rest, and am so grateful the monastics, (who work so diligently, and open their home~monastery to thousands of visitors), take a daily síesta to refresh themselves, and the community.
    Bless you all!
    Great dharma talk!

Wow, this a great compendium of all the teachings I have been following, with surgical clarity and profound sincerity. When he said "with a tear at the edge of one's eyes" I realised that there was actually a tear drop remained at the edge of my eye because few minutes earlier something in his speech made me cry releasing a blockage that I appearently had. It was magic. I recently went to a spiritual program aimed to experience the Self and release our blockages and traumas and in a group of hundreds of people sexual abuse was one of the first in the list for a big percentage of participants. I guess it has been in our DNA for so many centuries that all of us can relate to such a trauma. That's just one aspect of what makes this amazing speech universal and a "must see". Your mention of 'resistance' and 'rebellion' also reminded me of Khrisnamurti's great work "The only revolution". Thank you so much for your enormous work that exhudes and reaches us from your Talk.🙏🙏🙏❤

You kindly asked: "Hello, could you explain what it is that appears to you political in this context?" Your introductory comments in 'the situation is dire' section of your video referred to growing inequality, the plight of the poor and less privileged. You then went on to criticise capitalism as a philosophy that appropriates and extracts everything, including mindfulness. After multiple critical references to capitalism in 'the collective' section of your video you then made reference to anti-capitalist mindset and to a "resistance movement" and "rebellion". It is difficult for a simple soul like me not to see those comments as political, but please, by all means clarify your intended meaning. As noted in my original comment, I hadn't ever noticed any overtly political comments in Thay's teachings. In all of this, please know that I much enjoyed your video and, as with all your talks, I learned a lot and I sympathise with your overall sentiment.

Thank you! I understand your pov - i have thoughts, but they are a bit long and i want to address the question in a nuanced way because i think it’s important.
But we are in the middle of our busiest season so my attention has to be primarily focused on the people here on retreat. When i have a bit more space i will do my best to address this

Thank you for your enthusiasm and support for our Dharma talks. We deeply appreciate your desire to make these teachings accessible to a wider audience. As a small monastic community, our resources are quite limited, and we cannot translate our content into multiple languages by ourselves.
We warmly invite those of you who can help with translations to contribute. Your assistance will play a crucial role in sharing the teachings we all cherish. If you are interested in volunteering, please continue your journey of service here: plumvillage.app/subtitles/.
Your help is greatly valued and will make a significant difference. Thank you for your understanding and support.

be inclusive, psychedelics(what ever that means),are here long before any Buddha tale.dont discriminate, and dont be a ''purist''.its not either or.
if it wasnt for psychedelics, forcing the stop of all habits, and doing so,many times,i was not watching that.
psychedelic(in a high enough dose) are an opertunity for a felt present experience, despite all of our cultural conditioning.

We've lost the climate issue so I suggest preparing for the consequences. Meditate, stay calm, and do so on higher ground. The human population is about to be adjusted.

I used to think “I’m not violent to anyone.” And I may have been correct, but I didn’t realize that the types of behaviors I was initiating could be considered violent, simply by unrecognizing that thinking and feeling certain ways can be considered being violient to ourselves, which is ultimately being violent to all of our ancestors; all of humanity and all of the earth!
So now when I notice that I’m saying or feeling thinking certain ways, I don’t discriminate the process anymore, but instead start to question why this, and learn to grow the compassion towards my shortcomings
    To transform for everyone
Because even if we think the smallest things don’t matter
They actually have a massive impact on the entire functioning of the universe
Just go and test it out if you don’t believe me
For a whole day just see what types of things happen around you when you are thinking kind thoughts.
The wind will literally blow a calm breeze for you as if to say thank you
And the birds will sing to you and guide you to your destination
    🙏🏼 🪷
