Im not sure about all the time. You probably do not want it sitting in a puddle all the time. Ive left it outside for a week straight and semi-submerged in a sump for 2 weeks and it was fine.
I don't know about that but I've used mine to pump thousands of gallons of water out of my basement and it hasn't burnt up yet I clean it every time I'm done. It was the best 97 bucks I ever spent.
@@steveva7591 what i did with my little 1,600 a gallon an hour Drummond utility pump was wrap it up to the neck with window screen and duct tape it around the neck, 8 years later and 5 atmospheric River storms and that little Green monsta is still running clog free and working in mud, just put a few old golf balls so it sits up off the mud floor and no problem, just had another northern cal River storm and it pumped hours and hours of flooding in my backyard, i get the down water runoff from neighbors higher up running into my yard, only happens after Ground saturation with River storms, dont underestimated the harbor freight Drummond mighty mite, just wrap that window screen over the impeller.
I recently had to pump a foundation out and got about the advertised rate but it varies given how high the discharge head is and also if you happen to use a 1/2" hose.
@@ninjak2647 I used it to pump out a flooded foundation (mucky clay water) and the pump operated fine. I just kept the pump in a low area and on a block, not sitting on dirt. I am sure it would work fine for a parking lot as long as there is not a lot of debris.
@@nortonstephen Thanks for the quick response! Got to clean this parking lot tonight and it was puddling bad in some spots. This will be a game changer for sure.
The original water bug is better because it has two exits one out the top one out of the side. What I found is on the water bug it works better straight out the top sucking it out straight out the top on the side not so well cuz it clogs because it has to go through an elbow.
Thanks for this video! Do you think its durable enough for placing it outside all the time?

@@steveva7591 that why I stated in perfect conditions I am pumping my water through 100’ of 5/8 “hose
@@steveva7591 Do you think this pump will work on dirty water in a parking lot from pressure washing? Or will the dirt clog it?

I do wish it could discharge from the top. I can to use it as a temporary sump pump a few months back and it kinked the hose often
This is an incomplete demo. By dropping into a tub that is already partly full, we won't see at what level the pump kicks in.
I talked about when it kicks in, it primes at 1-5/8” and pumps down to 1/2” which is where it stopped in the video
