    I get so excited to see what product you're going to recommend next. Seriously, my lawn game is all thanks to your videos. As a first-time home owner, I know very little about maintenance and other things, but your channel has been a huge help in figuring things out easy and relatively affordable. Thank you!!

    I had to laugh when, at 1:48, you mentioned how as you/we get older different things in life excite you because I've thought that many times in recent years. haha I don't currently need a pump like this but I made sure to watch the video because I have come to learn that your videos are enjoyable and great for my knowledge base. It's really an impressive pump. See you in the next video.

    I have an underdeck drain that backs up whenever there are severe rain storms. Just last Friday in NYC, we had a 30 minute down pour that result in about 4 inches of water under the deck. My current pump has a max flow of 1700 gph and was struggling - I had to check to see if it was even pumping. If the rain had continued for another half hour it might have gotten high enough to crest my lower windows. It was clear to me that the old pump is too underpowered. So I ordered the camo version of this which has a gph rate of over 4000, and I bought a two inch discharge hose. I'm going to leave both pumps active, the weaker one has a lower "auto-on" depth, so it still serves a purpose, but when things get dicey I cant wait to see this baby take over. Absent the city of NY replacing the sewer lines with higher capacity pipes, this is going to be my solution (hoping and praying!)

    Thank you for your excellent product reviews. I watched this video a few days ago. The next day a friend told me he needed to change the water in his 15,000 gallon pool. I recommended the Smartbot pump and sent him a link to this video. He bought the 4200 model and absolutely loved it. He had his pool completely pumped out and refilled within 24 hours. Thanks again! I really enjoy your videos!

    Pretty cool..it is almost like my Wayne Pool Cover pump...My pump shuts off on its own also..though I think it is more of a water sensor than this one uses light..This one is more power at 1/2HP where my Wayne is 1/4HP.
    Why are they calling it Smart? All the features they present, my Wayne can do the same thing...Just this thing is a little more powerful and can do a 2" hose where my Wayne can do 1 1/4" Max.
    I thought maybe you can connect it to your phone and you get a notification that it finish doing its job.. The cost I have to say it right there with other pumps, plus it looks little cooler with the "Eyes"

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  2 года назад +4

      The Wayne is a quality pump amzn.to/37KIQmt priced the same as this Smartbot pump, but the difference as you said as power. The Smartbot is a 1/2HP and the Wayne is a 1/4. For pool cover use exclusively the wayne is a better choice as speed isn't a big deal, but if you are using it for all purposes, the smartbot is insanely fast. Both good choices.

      I agree. Longevity is the one thing that isn't really possible to test. But even my tried and true little giant that was cast iron, super slow and no automatic shut off died after 3 years so appearances and brand names don't always tell you how long it will last. I will be watching long term reviews on this one, but so far it's impressive.

    if you get romantic with either of these pumps, i'm sure that 2800 or 3600 gallons per hour would rip your unit right off.
    i personally recommend not doing romance to that thing.

    How does the pump do with dirty water? I need to pump out a pond every now and then which usually has organic material that forms a sludge at the bottom sometimes.

      I was wondering the same. The information on the Amazon site says the pump will shut down when it encounters blockage.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  2 года назад +2

      It is designed for clean water, it has a grid on the bottom so you could put it into anything and it would shut off, but personally I would only use this on pools, hot tubs, even a flooded basement or cloudy water, etc is OK but a pond can be tough but if you propped it up pn a container to keep it a little elevated you could use it but it could clog, and at least it would shut down it blocked.

    I was really skeptical at first. The only thing I liked about it was that it looked like Iron Man. lol Then you turned it on and I was like, ‘Ok, pretty standard look with the garden hose, but nothing to write home about’…
    Then you did what I was saying to myself, “yeah, let’s see this thing with a 2 1/2” hose connected to it!” … ‘Whoa!! That small head was pumping out that much water?!?!’
    Then I got skeptical again… ‘yeah, but he’s only going up 2-3’ from the water lever of the pool to a downhill slope’. And then you put that hose up 10+ feet in the air and it was still pumping!!!
    Then I was like, SOLD!!!… 💸💸💸
    *Only caveat now is longevity…
