Three years later and still saving the pool owners! My pool heater suddenly wouldn’t come on, then I noticed a lot of bubbles from my jets in the pool. I figured the heater wasn’t coming on bc of low pressure and air but I couldn’t find an air breather on my filter! Did this and voila! Everything working now! If I called a repair guy it would not been a lot of money. This was under $20!
This is a good idea, and here is how you can have a relief valve AND pressure gauge connected at the same time: if you use a 1/4" T-fitting, you can connect the T to the filter, and then the gauge and the valve to the T. You might need to experiment with extensions, or male-male or female-female adapters to get it all to work and for the gauge to not be in the way of the valve to allow it to open all the way. Also, you could attach a threaded hose, or use a 1/4" threaded to nipple adapter, to attach a hose to direct the water where you want instead of it spraying out all over the place. Just make sure the valve is connected to the T (or metal pipe), you don't want the valve at the end of a hose under constant pressure.
Brilliant advice and thanks for sharing this. No water in our pump, but once we got rid of the air from our Jandy filter with newly installed drainage valve, everything worked fine again
Thanks for posting this! I only recently purchased my home which has a Pentair TA-60/60D filter and 2" Top Mount 6-way valve with no air bleeder. Has this continued to work for you over the years and have you replaced any of your O rings in the mounts to see if it reduces the air intake?
Have traveled to every bleedin plumbing supplies hardware store in a bleedin 1000km radius of my home. Can NOT find an air pressure release valve thingy majungy that bleedin fits! 😭
Our sand filter does not have a air relief valve, but I discovered that if I unscrew the pressure gauge, water comes out from there. Is that a 'healthy'/proper way to relieve the air from filters that have no air valve?
Why do you find it necessary to use profanity in your instructions? No matter how good the instructions may or not be, you lost me at "f". May God bless and heal your heart.
You just saved me A LOT of stress and frustration! Two pool companies couldn’t get this air line fixed. This is magical! Thank you! Works like a charm

Put a tee on on there so you can have the air bleeder valve and the gauge on the same port.
after doing everything to get rid of air in the system changing sand tightening everything. This looks like a win
It really does. I can’t figure out why Pentair didn’t put one on this filter
@@davidkeefe9468 I was seriously looking for one on mine too. I’ll have to check and see which valve you bought because it could be a lifesaver.
Dude! Awesome video man. I'm like... why didn't I already think of that? Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I am going to do to mine.

It’s been great. No issues at all
Thanks man same problem looked all over for one getting frustrated nice fix !

Akiva yes. But I would think once the pump is really flowing the water squirting out will have a lot of force to overcome and get it threaded back on.
@@davidkeefe9468 thank you for your help. I found today that I can turn of the filter once all the air is out and then it's easier to place back on.
Just take valve to backwash and unscrew the clear bulb slightly.
Do you mean that can just put it to back wash then you can open the filter?
This is an awesome idea. I have the same issue. Does it matter what selection you have your filter on when you prime it up the way?
I’m not sure what you mean by selection?
I usually prime from my hot tub because it is higher than the skimmers.
@@davidkeefe9468 the selection of the filter handle, filter, backwash, circulate, etc..... do you have it on a certain one when you prime it up

Thank you Linda. Linda means beautiful in Spanish.
You’re fucking right I was surprised as fuck when he said that
God bless your heart.@@donlesley1873
the swearing was the best part, lol. Makes it more relatable. Good video
Oh my gosh it's just a fuckin word.
