The track name has two meanings. The first is a reference to the lyrics. The second is a reference to all of our reactions the first time we heard Brooks' double rides at 2:56 God damn.
2:21 i have always loved that groove, Brooks is a great drummer and he's parts on The Stage album really stod out for me as well as him also being very good live(Saw them last year). Really glad they found him!:)
They didn’t really found him, they already knew they wanted him to be the drummer so they reached out to have a meeting and dinner with him and the rest is history. They didn’t get lucky to find him tho he was the guy they wanted, #1 on their list, luckily Brooks also wanted to be in the band and try new things and get to take more advantage of his fantastic skills. I agree tho he fuckin kicks ass and I’m so glad he’s in the band, really brought a lot of creativity to the band and it shows on the stage, Cant wait to hear what direction they go with the new album and to hear Brooks drums on it.
@@badvengeance they didn’t find him they specifically wanted him to be their drummer, it’s not like he auditioned or they got lucky to find him. They knew who he was for a long time so they reached out and had a meeting over dinner and the rest is history. I totally agree tho Arin didn’t stand a chance, Brooks is nothing only technically better but he’s creatively better, there is a reason why Arin got no songwriting credits in the band and Brooks has one on every track he’s done in the band. Just a better fit with the other boys and a flat out better drummer.
@@puppetmaster8551 Agree, however I Liked Arin's drumming as well. He is a really skilled drummer and it's a really hard job to take over that position. But yeah Brooks is amazing technically and very musically creative. Def one if not my favorite drummer! Loved his work in Bad Religion as well
Interesting how he grinds one of the rides with one hand while the other marks a slow tempo… I don't even know how he can be this fast with a single hand actually…
You don't gotta hide your kids .... But definitely hide your wife..... Brooks gonna be commithn with them Mai-Tais, Sexo en la playas and some killer DB featuring- stamina...... Whatchit!
I feel like I can hear some drum samples mixed in with the drums, especially the cymbals and kick drum. Which isn't a bad thing, they add a great dynamic to the full mix, just and interesting observation
Jason Harkin the kick and the snare have been sampled very obviously, if you listen to the ring on the snare it is pretty much exactly the same throughout the song apart from some of the fills, and the kick has probably been triggered/sample replaced as it sounds very punchy and sticks out well in the full mix of the song with the rest of the instruments. Hope this helped :)
16th note triplets for 2 beats, snare on 3, and another kick on 3-and. 12 triplets and a half note, so 13 hits in the first part. When the full groove hits, it's a half note, then 16th notes starting on 1-and, stopping on 3, switching to straight 16ths for 2 beats to finish the measure. For the blast beat, it's just 8th notes for the measure. So it's 1 half-note, plus 9 16-th triplets, plus 8 16ths, plus 8 in the second measure, so 26 kick-drum notes in that section. 13 in the intro 26 in the groove.
Feck yes he did! Best choice they ever made. Arin is great, really great actually. So is Mike. Can't take that away from either of em. Mike kinda literally butted his way into the band and they ALLOWED, because it was needed, hence the VERY short lived tenure. And Arin.... Alot of people blamed him, when they recorded HTTK for being simplistic with his drumming/style. He could play old or any A7X. They wanted a change, new style and he gave them them that. Brooks though..... He did and is continuing to bring a whole other level of beasts and harlots.
you actually here this is not edited. All those tiny not 100% on point notes make it sound so much more real and alive. Prefer this over any drum machine everyday!!
It was probably the best for the mix, if you listen to his live sound it's killer, look up sunny disposition live from the stage deluxe, he has a solo at the end
Brooks is such an amazing drummer. He was a great addition for the band.
I like that he brings so much variety into the band since he's played for a lot of different artists all around
But his drum audio is powerless.
Lmao we have the same profile pic.
@@st.boanerges what's the difference with the rev's power audio??

God damn.
2:23 time to dance everybody!
What happens when you hit 2:56 then 😂😂😂
Ah yes! The Spanish guitar part

Nils Hedstrom They found him around nightmare era. Brooks was caught up and he couldn't join the band until 2015. Arin didn't stand a chance lol

I straight up died at 2:56 RIP
That thumbnail is so accurate to how he looks while playing this hard shit lol
Fred1022 it’s funny because it’s true
The snare sounds like a fucking gunshot. Almost reminds me of the black album more than anything. Amazing
The best 2:56
BYRON BAQUEDANO Pretty reminiscent of the double ride that Jimmy used
Interesting how he grinds one of the rides with one hand while the other marks a slow tempo… I don't even know how he can be this fast with a single hand actually…
Lyendith It's not difficult. He's just accenting each count by hitting the ride cymbal on the bell.
Who else thinks Brooks double ride at 2:56 was for Jimmy?🙋🏽♀️❤
I forgot I was on the playlist, so when it started I thought it was Scream Aim Fire
His nickname should be Machine Gun Wackerman..he is great
Na Slim Shady Wackerman, fuck a Machine Gun...🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️
@@Ranger.TomGunna lmao 🤣

🤘 genius......precise technician.....every part, exactly what is perfect.....such an inspiration ...... the Rev would be pleased 🤘
i never caught he was playing 16ths on the chorus. dope
Avenged has had some of the greatest drummers to ever swang a stick and not just the rev....wack and portnoy are both out of this world
He reminds so much of rev. They couldn't have picked a better drummer
For sure
Brooks has perfect technic that for my opinion it's too perfect. The rev was fast but his drumming was more heavy (which I 10 times more)
Portnoy reminded me of the rev
I like 10 times more**
Rev looked up to Brooks. I’d say Brooks reminds me of Brooks and Rev is his own.
The Stage and Paradigm please
already has both on youtube
Marcus Silva Not Paradigm.

That's because this isn't the actual track
Because this is a MIDI.
In the intro how many times is he hitting the bass each burst? I can't tell it's too fast.
I think it's 14 times. I had to slow the video down to 0.25 speed to count
David Legg
Good idea. I've been trying to figure it out since the stage came out and I think you're right.

Sick man 🤘
Brooks is a beast! He is the best replacement for Jimmy in my opinion. When it comes to creativity on the drums.
The snare sounds like a gun.
Malagueña salerosa drum track please! Brooks is awesome!
This reminds me of painkiller in some weird way...... Not exactly obviously, but just enough...... Kemmon Brooksy..... Are youssa Judas?
Higher please
Is it just me or does he have a slight swing on the 16th notes in the verse? If so do you think it's purposeful?
He playing like jimmy
Tbh I think he is a better drummer than the rev
Whoever programmed this sample track needs to be fired, that snare is trasssssshhhhhhh
The snare tone isn't sampled. No triggers or snares are used. 100% natural drum tone and that is confirmed by the band.
Unfortunately the drum sound after mixing was really bad...
Shut up and enjoy
I disagree.
I disagree
I disagree
His bass drum sound like vomit to me anyone else?
The Rev
Sounds a lot better in the mix. Same goes with every instrument you separate from a song.
It was probably the best for the mix, if you listen to his live sound it's killer, look up sunny disposition live from the stage deluxe, he has a solo at the end
Nope. Just you.
That's because they used an unpolished/raw sound on The Stage album, pretty neat 👌
Reda Lhioui so an unpolished/raw sounds like a triggered bass drum. Makes sense
