My only concern is privacy, not all that comfortable having a message via google
I mean if the alternative is plain SMS then nothing sensitive should be sent that way either. Not that I trust Google any more than the next mega-corp
@BWood63 The majority of anyone who uses messaging service sends all types of things throughout the day, so many things can be treated as sensitive.
I bloody agree,across all informations Google are reading and watching,hence syncing as well so they know who you are on other tech.

The main thing I like about Google Messages is that it syncs well with my Mac. Combined with BlueBubbles, which I use to sync my iMessages from my Mac to my Android, I use Google Messages to sync my SMS/RCS messages from my Android to my Mac. This way, I could have an uncompromised cross-platform messaging system that beats even the iPhone thanks to RCS.
Ok so i just bought a Samsung and im switching from iPhone. My main problem is iMessage, when i put my sim in the Samsung I wasn’t getting any messages from iMessage. I know that they can send it as a text message but I would have to tell them to do it. Can you explain wat u did more in depth. I want to use my Samsung but for now i have to keep the sim in the iPhone.
@@johncuzzo8673 Samsung phones don't natively support iMessage.
One thing I liked about Samsung messages better is the copy and paste feature per text. However I could not get it to sync with my computer to send and receive texts on my PC. Google messages is much better and friendlier for using your text features on your computer.

Used to like Samsung messages too a lot.. I use an s21 ... but as at may 2022 I love Google messages...has all the features and more and now there's one exclusive for Samsung phones now

Scheduled messages are also available in Google's.
I prefer Samsung's but for some reason RCS only works on Google's so that's the one I use.
It's working on Samsung messages app.

I think rcs only works if both users use same messaging app. I can't send rcs to a samsung rcs enabled (I'm using google btw)

The reason I'm on Google is RCS and Device Pairing... can't wait for oneui when I get samsung messages design with Google messages... they're already doing it on s21 out of USA
Since one of the last updates, Samsung messages will no longer allow me to set a group chat to silent (vibrate only) while keeping the other chats on tone notifications. It seems the only choice is tone or No Notifications at all. If they ever fix this I'll be back - but for now I have to use Google messages to get this feature.

Good day. I have a tech question for you. When I use the samsung message app, after I type the text message to this one particular contact I hit send. After I hit send, I get an audio sound after I hit send to this one particular contact. All the other contacts I send text messages to I do not get an audio sound after I hit send. I have samsung message set up to show the visual message, "delivered." I do not want to hear an audio sound after I hit send. Can you help me correct this annoying situation? By the way. When I use the dedault android message app I do not have this problem, only with the samsung message app when I send text messages to this one particular contact. Thank you.

Very good video - I switch to samsung messages because of Unread option - great feature, along with tabs , pinn and star options. I mostly recieve , never send so this unread windows they left is extremlly usefull. Google messages have more features maybe but I dont why to use them and pay for SMS when I chat with every other chat app over there. But there is a one feature that I misse in Samsung messages - archive message.
Scheduled message, pin message and star message is available on Google message along with RCS that Samsung doesn't have

I can't seem to install the apk, I keep getting an error message after downloading it, is there another place I could download it?
Actually none of the Samsung apps that I download off that site will work for me. Some of them will not install, some will not open, and some tell me that they did not support that Samsung app. Maybe there's something I need to do to my phone. I have a Nubia red magic 6s pro

Google messages PERMANENTLY stores your private information sent and received in this app! They don't disclose the tracking nor that you can't request it be deleted

as you said at the end "SAMSUNG MESSAGES HAS CHAT FEATURES AS WELL" kindly explain more. I wish Samsung messages has the same features as iPhone messages "imessage" has as sending messages on wifi if cellular data network not available also chat features as typing indication, received & read messages also stickers, photos, files, etc,. I believe Google messages has it now called "RCS features".

How do you enable messege previews on social apps. I'm getting notifications for all of the messages, but it doesn't show what the messages are saying. How do I set it to show messages on the homepage, not on the lock screen?

You can schedule on google messages as well. Just type your message and press and hold the send button.
google messaging can be end to end encryption. can that be done w samsung messenger?
Someone please help! Samsung messages used to have a toggle feature to send group texts individually but I don't see it anymore!
But why can't we archive messages? I love the categories but I get 25-30 messages a day for scheduling etc and want to make them 'go away" when I'm done. But when the person texts again at a later time I want the archived messages to come back up! HELP!!

Well I have feature on my phone, but why not on my tab s6???
I have a s22. And I don't know why android made things confusing with messaging at least once a day I have to select a default text messaging for my Android phone why they just can't leave it alone and just leave it as a normal texting app?? Is very frustrating and annoying do you know how to get rid of it or how to stop it????

Thanks for the info and very cool set but the mic is terrible. Most care more about audio then video and it makes the video almost unuseable
Google Messages can also schedule messages, other than that Google Messages and with RCS turned on is the same as any other APP such as Facebook messenger, WhatsApp etc, and mainly allows you to receive and send messages, audio, photo videos etc, to any number of the country as long as both are using Google Message and online! In other words, you don't need to charge your cell phone with balance to be able to send a message to family and friends abroad, nor do you have to go to third-party apps, just be online with your RCS chat on both cell phones!
I feel weird about the schedule message thing feature...
Something i miss from the icon on the left is when you talk-to-text and say "question mark" it inserts a ?
But you do that w/ the right side one it SPELLS it out 😵💫
Before Google got the schedule messages... that was one of the MAJOR reason I preferred Samsung...I still prefer it ...especially as I have link to windows now😊

The only thing i do not like aboit goofle message is your downloaded fonta you pay for theough samsung. It is not compatible and you cant change the setting unless someone knows better please reply and let me know where i can do rhis. Also google allows to send a likw or heart if you reapond to a text message like iphone although samsung messages only states loved or liked an image.

Sorji, the Google messages app schedules without internet. I don't know if it's an update I just tried it and it worked.

Google messages trumps Samsung's text app with one feature, messages for web. It's too convenient using a web browser for messages while at work.
Or you can just Bluetooth your phone to your PC and use it from there
@@BillyHarcrow not nearly as practical or easy as using Chrome with Google messages. Especially if your computer doesn't have Bluetooth or is Linux and doesn't have drivers for the on board Bluetooth.

Try link to windows. Doesn.t need bluetooth unless for a call. That's a bust and doesn't need a browser

Google looks nicer imo. It has the schedule message feature as well. Also shows when someone is typing.

Nice. Samsung is what I use on my S9. But recently I'd switched over from t-mobile to Verizon and noticed that i can no longer see of the contacts on my list have read my messages, as well as show that my messages have been delivered. Is a a way to get that feature back? In particular, the resd message feature that shows that the contacts have read your messages. Thanks
I had those features with the Samsung messaging app on my Galaxy S8, also with T-Mobile. However, I just switched to Google Messenger for the RCS features (photo clarity when sending via texts and not having to deal with the file size limit with characters in a text or with photos/videos like SMS and MMS). But the features you mentioned "losing" are a part of the Google app! Hopefully they are not also because of having T-Mobile, but I don't think that's the case because when watching a video on that app, they were part of the features mentioned with the Google one. :)
Love the category you can put text messages (family, friends, clients, etc) in Samsung text.
Schedule text is NEW to Google Messenger 😂.. As we know Samsung had this for a long time.
So samsung text and Microsoft swiftkey is a great combination for me. And yes... Very practical!

Download the app and make it your default.
If you use chat msg on the goolge msg app it can make others not be able to send you msgs it happened to one of my friends she's got a s21 I have a s22 ultra I used to be with iPhone for years I don't know what msg app to use

Totally get you. Google has messages for the web and samsung messages has samsung dex which can be used to access your messages on your laptop

There is Continuity between Samsung devices and Windows devices, there is also Samsung Flow.

Samsung SMS messages are cleaner and simpler to use. Press the 3 dots and you can access the trash/recycle bin to either delete a message permanently or restore it (within 30 days). No fussing with 3rd-party apps. Nice! 😊
i actually prefer google messages, because Samsung messages doesn't have a spam protect feature.
(although I REALLY like Samsung's UI)

@calvin brutton they do I was able to change the color when I first got my phone but i can't remember how, right now my text bubbles are pink for me and burgundy for everyone who text me

@@majatl I know this thread is old, but I'll tell you in case you havent gotten the answer yet. You long press on a blank part of the home screen, and then tap on "wallpaper and style" Then tap on "color palette" and choose one of the color themes from the list. They will be different colors depending on the wallpaper you have selected
Hey man I got a 20-3 outside recently and using my note 9 still just set everything up on my 23 alter and I noticed that messages look different and then I went to the very end of my apps and saw Samsung messages I thought the icon just looked a little different but, you may just video like two years ago and I think I like Samsung messages I mean when you helps you move into your new phone quicker just like from an iPhone to another iPhone everything's the same colour everything's there just easier to switch over, all your settings to you see her there. Venus's two years ago I wonder if you still feel the same way about Samsung messages?, and if there's anybody else in the comments right now that does like Samsung messages over Google let me know I'd be interested to hear, until I decide I'll probably have them both side-by-side using Samsung messages maybe just because it looks like my old phone looks the same I like that, I like new stuff but settings everything's all in the right place with Samsung messages even though Google is designed that UI for Samsung just curious if there's anybody out there that has stayed with Samsung messages even till this day and why sorry for the novel thanks.

@Dark Waters sadly not for all devices. S20+ att here and samsung messages doesn't have it. I wish I did. One reason I'm thinking of switching when google messages gets pinned messages.

The only thing is I can't search individual shared media on Google messaging
The only thing I wish I could change for Samsung SMS Messages app is the fact that profile pics don't show in group chats so it's hard to follow the conversation sometimes because you have to read the tiny text that tells you who's texting :/
omg i have this same problem... i thought it was only me who found this annoying but im glad to see its not only me... i decided to try google mesasages however and its been a lot easier to follow conversations in group chats
On S22 gmessages is default message app.
Google messages has scheduled messages, starred messages, and pinning conversations, it doesn't have categories but I don't find that important...
