That scene between Podrik and Tyrion is amazing. Never fails to strike those strings in my heart. Pod us truly a real one [there has never lived a more loyal squire]
When Tywin says "categorically" with that shit eating smirk. Man how good is Charles Dance as an actor and how good is Tywin as a character. Turned the supposed confrontation with Oberyn into an overture for alliance. Then that scene with Tommen, what else can I say that hasn't been said already. This is Tywin Lannister at his finest. He steals the show this episode. Every segment he's in is electric.
Tywin was taking jabs at Cersi imo cuz she moulded/ran Joffrey until she couldn’t. As he’s clearly taking the reigns on Tommen like “had ya chance cersi, I’m handling this one now”

I love the title of this episode. "The Breaker of Chains" is obviously about Daenerys, but at the same time we have Tyrion being put in chains, Sansa getting rid of hers (but in the hands of Little Finger who we know we can't trust) and Tommen, who is free but also isn't, cause just by that Tywin speech we know that he will be manipulated, chained in some way.
You know.... I've watched this series about 6 times and have seen countless reactions to this series and I gotta say... this is my favorite reaction to the series ive ever seen, not only are you paying attention but youre picking up SMALL details, like I never noticed Baelish smash the neckless before he threw it, your first run and here you go askin questions. love it my man, keep it up I look forward to these reactions.
Tywin Lannister has 100% bonus points in his Diplomacy attribute. He is only matched perhaps by his son Tyrion and Lady Olenna? Little Finger and Varis have high skills as well as the Onion Knight Davos Seaworth to name others
@10:57 that's exactly the best place to discuss the attributes of a good king, since Joffrey possessed none of those qualities and as a result lies dead in front of him.
That shot of Dany after Daario sliced the head off the opposing warrior, was the very definition of a woman being 🔥on. 😉 My girl was mentally already throwing off the clothes.
In the books the mother of dragons as a bodyguard named strong belwas... A black man from the butterfly aisles.. He was a Gladiator and would allow his opponents to cut him once before he would kill them.. He's a big fat scarred incredibly imposing.. In the book hes the one that steps forward to fight The champion... After he kills the champion he Takes a shit on the champions corps.... 🏆 🥇
I love your excitement about Dany being the rightful Queen but I feel like it’s important to remember something Tywin said in his lesson to Tommen about how winning and ruling are not the same thing. Dany is good at winning so far but have we actually seen her ruling anything? Anyone can win and conquer kingdoms but how many can actually hold it together consistently? If Dany wants to take over Westeros, shouldn’t she also know how ruling works or get spies to Westeros to set up connections to houses that might support her? Dany has a great mind for conquering but what is her long term strategy? Does she have the right wisdom to rule?
I think Dany's destiny has never been to rule. Reconquering Westeros and re-establishing the Targaryen dynasty was never her dream, but Viserys'. Daenerys grew up in exile and was constantly on the run. She had no real childhood and no home. Her desire is for refuge and safety. She reflects this desire onto others. That is why she conquers Astapor, Yunkai and Meereen. She sees the slaves there and tries to give them what she never had. This behavior is why she is never destined for the Iron Throne. The Iron Throne symbolizes too much blood and destruction, so she must avoid this temptation. The only morally right thing she can do is to use her dragons in the war for the dawn.
There was a scene in season 3 where Cersei tells Tywin “perhaps you should keep him from doing what he wants” and Tywin cold as hell just goes “oh I will.”
From this episode it's safe to assume that Littlefinger was aware of the murder at the very least. As he had arranged Sansa to flee Joffrey's murder scene, he was either in on the plot or at least known of the plot. I was thinking you speculated on everyone except Littlefinger lol, but you caught on to it in the edit and wrote "Baelish" during that Oberyn Tywin scene 😂. But Baelish didn't physically do it. So who was the one?
I figured Baelish was in on it from the start. I mean, Joffrey had literally just died minutes before. I know news travels fast, but for him to know Joffrey was dead, while on a ship, in the short time it took for Sansa to make her way from the wedding to the ship? It had to be him. But I didn't know how until much later.
I wish I watched GOT in a civilized manner in which you watch. I binged the hell out of it and didn’t take time to ponder each episode, make predictions, analyze. You catch so many things that I just let slip by bc I rushed through the show. Mad respect
FINALLY a mystery you haven't solved instantly! There are so many little details that make this season so amazing! Dany and her chains she collected from the people on the way to Mereen, all the clues as to who would have wanted and benefited from Joffrey's death, Arya putting all her lessons about the different lords and what lands they have loyal to them paying off! They have this season so well structured for more and more to unfold in amazing fashion
It was a lesson for Tommen. It was a rebuke for Cersei. And he took Tommen right away from her, right then. He was telling her, I control Tommen, I control you, I control this family, and I control Kings Landing and the Seven Kingdoms. Without actually even saying a word to her.
I thought it was obvious why he made the necklace. He needed Sansa to trust Ser Dontos and making him give a precious personal thing like that was perfect for that.
I do not like Littlefinger BUT he said some real ish about money being temporary loyalty but putting an arrow in ya will buy that loyalty and silence 🗣FOREVER. His trifling a$$ stay dropping game 🔥
This roller coaster of a series is phenomenal. Season four truly is epic. I will say that you catch on to things very quickly, you’ve caught more during this show than I did the first time I watched it. I haven’t watched that movie 1917 yet, I’ll have to check it out before your reaction. Happy New Year Bruh ✌🏼
I think they decided to switch actors for Tommen because of the much bigger role he has in the show going forward. Its definitely odd seeing it now because the guy's career has taken off, but at the time and with a year between appearances it was barely noticeable.
12:00 it’s hard to imagine the range of emotions that have to be running through Cersei at that point… she has been completely ignored after saying that Tywin and Tomen’s conversation was inappropriate.. her first born was just killed and everyone is happy and relieved about it … to top this her father and other son don’t give much a s*** about her grief.. savage for sure
Look how far away deanerys is from the walls before launching the catapults after giving her speech ain't no way they all hearing her that far away lol
Hey Major .. Great reaction never fails lol .. and interesting Suspects you have in the Murder of our beloved Joffrey hahaha all I can say Dude is pay attention to every dialogue even the smallest may make you fall off your chair lol
3:10 - “Where the hell is Catelyn's brother?”. Edmure Tully is being held captive by the Freys. (Curiosity: you guessed his name was "Edmyn". You got it wrong, but Edmyn Tully is actually an ancestor of House Tully from the time of Aegon, the Conqueror.)
"When you play the game of thrones, Ned Stark, you either win or you die." - Cersei Lannister, Season 1 Joffrey played the game and lost. Dontos played the game and lost. Tywin was quick to bring Tommen under his wing as he did not want a repeat of Joffrey, understandably so XD. Tywin would be a fantastic tutor and mentor for anyone who aspires to hold power. And yes, his criticism of Joffrey was both an observation of Tywin to impart on Tommen and a jab at Cersei's inability to bring him to heel. His cruelty made him hated by many as we saw at his wedding celebration. The Tyrells, Tyrion, Varys, and Sansa were disgusted by what he did with that mock-play of the War of Five Kings. I don't think I recall Oberyn Martell's reaction to it, but I imagine it'd be along the lines of "This kid is messed up." As for what The Hound said to Arya, let me quote Robert Baratheon to back him up: "Honor!? You think honor keeps the kingdoms together!? It's fear! Fear and blood!." I'm not a Daario fan, but he was a legit badass this episode. The song that played at the end is effectively Dany's war theme called "Dracarys". You first heard it when she freed The Unsullied back in Season 3. :)
Another great reaction, loving revisiting this series through your eyes. I also love the mad respect you have for Tywin. If I were in this universe and he proposed to me I'd say yes in a heartbeat purely because he's, as you rightly put it, a boss. It's probably an unpopular opinion but to me my favourite family was always the Lannisters purely because I find them the most interesting. There's never a dull moment when any of them are on screen and for me that puts them in my top spot. So excited for the episodes to come. Season 5 is probably my personal favouite but I'm going to enjoy the journey.
I know that at this point you are done with the series, but the fact that so many people tried spoiling things for you is absolutely terrible. The whole excitement of watching first time reactions is to experience the journey with you! Those people suck and are probably the same type of people who constantly talk over others. Paula is a real one!
"Nowhere safe for house stark right now...maybe house tully" - House Tully is pretty much finished as far as the show goes. They got destroyed at the Red Wedding too. Cat's dad died in S3, Edmure Tully was officially married to Frey's daughter, so killing him woulda been a bad look. That's why the Freys threw him in a dungeon after the wedding. The Blackfish escaped. But most of the Tully army perished with the Starks. The Freys are Lords of the Riverlands now. So that place is not safe either for Starks. It's only the Vale left.
Look back at the conversation between Margery and olena. Pay attention to olenas hand movements. Then go back and watch olena and sansa talking and look for similar hand movements.
your reactions are so genuine and entertaining, thank you so much brother. i'm interested to know how you think it's gonna end between tywin and oberyn?
I swear to God if we(game of thrones fans) all just get together we could oppose any nation on earth and this is coming from a red, white, and blue blooded, dye in the wool, and proud American. I love thrones fans!
Baelish is the EPITOME of the game in "Game of Thrones" (I mean the first book is titled "A Game of Thrones" but the book series is "A Song of Ice and Fire" yea yea yea) but anyway. That dude plays the gaaaaaaame. But happy new year btw my dude :D hope all is well and keep doin' what you're doin'.
The Hound often speaks unpleasant truths. For example, about the concept of knighthood in Westeros: "Sandor Clegane snarled at her. “Spare me your empty little compliments, girl . . . and your ser’s. I am no knight. I spit on them and their vows." "Clegane spat. “Might be you are knights after all. You lie like knights, maybe you murder like knights.” “A knight’s a sword with a horse. The rest, the vows and the sacred oils and the lady’s favors, they’re silk ribbons tied round the sword. Maybe the sword’s prettier with ribbons hanging off it, but it will kill you just as dead. Well, bugger your ribbons, and shove your swords up your arses. I’m the same as you. The only difference is, I don’t lie about what I am. So kill me, but don’t call me a murderer while you stand there telling each other that your shit don’t stink. You hear me?”
Yeah most people wouldn’t have noticed him earlier in the show tbh because of how quick it was but given you spotted him from other stuff means you caught it when he was brought back as Tommen
Hi Maajor. You may enjoy Hidalgo. Viggo Mortensen. They discuss ancient rights of hospitality in the middle East. In the factual world, it was like pilgrims being protected on their journey. Mostly it was honored. I wonder about the Mongol Horde?
We actually saw who killed Joffrey. Who actually put the poison in his drink. We watched them perpetrating it. Watch it again. Game of Thrones is the only show where viewers cheered the murder of a demon spawn child sadist. Arya is resourceful AF. Bran explained Guest Rights in his story of the Rat Cook in the episode following the Red Wedding. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Tywin wasn't "swallowing his pride," he was manipulating for his own best interests.
Exactly. He'd happily trade The Mountain for the cooperation of Dorne. He's big braining on maintaining order for the sake of his family remaining on top.
Sometimes cousins are doppelgangers, especially since Jamie and Cercei are twins and had children together. And the other character that died was a Lannister. Maybe that's why they thought they could get away with Tommen being same character. Just my thoughts on it. But I said same thing when I watched.
@@Zee-ms3uy I think it's much easier for the fans who binge watch the show simply because there is not the year-long lag time in between seasons that the original fans had to endure. That actor only had two short scenes in Season 3. There was no real reason to believe that people would remember his face a year later in Season 4.
Im gonna keep it 100% I could use less reveals and spoilers of other shows. It was fine at first but you're literally telling me things that happen in other shows and trying to relate characters between the two. I understand the connections but not all of us have seen those shows. That being said you're still the best you keep it real on here. I know people hate the Hound but damn he's in my top 5 characters easily
Sansa V- A Storm of Swords: From frying pan to fire. The eastern sky was vague with the first hint of dawn when Sansa finally saw a ghostly shape in the darkness ahead; a trading galley, her sails furled, moving slowly on a single bank of oars.........As they came alongside, the galley dropped a rope ladder over the rail. The rower shipped the oars and helped Sansa to her feet. "Up now. Go on, girl, I got you." Sansa thanked him for his kindness, but received no answer but a grunt. It was much easier going up the rope ladder than it had been coming down the cliff. The oarsman Oswell followed close behind her, while Ser Dontos remained in the boat. Two sailors were waiting by the rail to help her onto the deck. Sansa was trembling. "She's cold," she heard someone say. He took off his cloak and put it around her shoulders. "There, is that better, my lady? Rest easy, the worst is past and done." She knew the voice. But he's in the Vale, she thought. Ser Lothor Brune stood beside him with a torch. "Lord Petyr," Dontos called from the boat. "I must needs row back, before they think to look for me." Petyr Baelish put a hand on the rail. "But first you'll want your payment. Ten thousand dragons, was it?" "Ten thousand." Dontos rubbed his mouth with the back of his hand. "As you promised, my lord." "Ser Lothor, the reward." Lothor Brune dipped his torch. Three men stepped to the gunwale, raised crossbows, fired. One bolt took Dontos in the chest as he looked up, punching through the left crown on his surcoat. The others ripped into throat and belly. It happened so quickly neither Dontos nor Sansa had time to cry out. When it was done, Lothor Brune tossed the torch down on top of the corpse. The little boat was blazing fiercely as the galley moved away. "You killed him." Clutching the rail, Sansa turned away and retched. Had she escaped the Lannisters to tumble into worse? "My lady," Littlefinger murmured, "your grief is wasted on such a man as that. He was a sot, and no man's friend." "But he saved me. " "He sold you for a promise of ten thousand dragons. Your disappearance will make them suspect you in Joffrey's death. The gold cloaks will hunt, and the eunuch will jingle his purse. Dontos . . . well, you heard him. He sold you for gold, and when he'd drunk it up he would have sold you again. A bag of dragons buys a man's silence for a while, but a well-placed quarrel buys it forever." He smiled sadly. "All he did he did at my behest. I dared not befriend you openly. When I heard how you saved his life at Joff's tourney, I knew he would be the perfect catspaw." Sansa felt sick. "He said he was my Florian." Do you perchance recall what I said to you that day your father sat the Iron Throne?" The moment came back to her vividly. "You told me that life was not a song. That I would learn that one day, to my sorrow." She felt tears in her eyes, but whether she wept for Ser Dontos Hollard, for Joff, for Tyrion, or for herself, Sansa could not say. ...................
The fun thing about Joffreys death is that EVERYONE benefits. No it was because she didn’t control Joffrey is the problem. He ran wild also Cersei is a complete idiot so Tywin has no respect for her.

2. Edmure Tully (Lord of River Run) is in Walder Frey's Dungeon at the Twins, aka the Crossing.
Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer
All your questions about the necklace….. Are the correct questions to ask
Patience.....more will be revealed....
You're comments and questions make me look forward to watching you, watch it all unfold.
*Your* I couldn't let that go.
I was correcting myself. How's that petty?
Not going to lie, I've done it too. But only if they're being a total dick.
I loved your rant about second sons 🙌 you know this shit forreal
Thank you so much for the great content. Keep it up.
Look back at the conversation between Margery and olena. Pay attention to olenas hand movements. Then go back and watch olena and sansa talking and look for similar hand movements.
Brother you have such an analytical mind this is the best reaction to this series ive seen and im so keen to get through the rest (until season 7 🤢)
You have such joy on your face when you're about to get into GOT and Now MANDALORIAN too. I love it
"Keep your friends close but your enemies closer" is the saying I think you were thinking about saying
It’s been amazing watching your journey. Can’t wait to watch your ups and Downs and end games. Peace bro
your reactions are so genuine and entertaining, thank you so much brother. i'm interested to know how you think it's gonna end between tywin and oberyn?
Hi.. I think you were about to say at 25.10 " keep your friends close and your enemies closer"
Edmure is a prisoner of the freys after the red wedding
@Major Reacts you will understand the importance of the necklace as the show carries on remember this moment!!
Season 4 has some of the best story telling and acting ever..I LOVE THIS SEASON..
Another great reaction! Thanks! Can't wait for more!
No spoilers I'll just say your instincts are spot on.
All I have to say is that I’m definitely gonna watch your reviews and insights once House of the Dragon airs!
The Hound often speaks unpleasant truths. For example, about the concept of knighthood in Westeros:
"Sandor Clegane snarled at her. “Spare me your empty little compliments, girl . . . and your ser’s. I am no knight. I spit on them and their vows."
"Clegane spat. “Might be you are knights after all. You lie like knights, maybe you murder like knights.”
“A knight’s a sword with a horse.
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer!
That’s the second time they use Live in the Eye of the Blue-eyed Giant 😉
All your questions WILL be answered. Patience is a virtue. Write down ?'s as they come about.
25:15. I think you are looking for.. The Enemy of your enemy is your friend
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. 😁❤️
Yeah most people wouldn’t have noticed him earlier in the show tbh because of how quick it was but given you spotted him from other stuff means you caught it when he was brought back as Tommen
I suspended disbelief and just told myself Tommen had a cousin that looked just like him... Lol. It happens 🤷🏿♂️
So glad you made it to joffrey dying, so satisfying
It takes a boss to be a conquering dictator.
Hi Maajor. You may enjoy Hidalgo. Viggo Mortensen. They discuss ancient rights of hospitality in the middle East. In the factual world, it was like pilgrims being protected on their journey. Mostly it was honored. I wonder about the Mongol Horde?
I think the quote is “an enemy of my enemy is my friend
Thank you Kosia
We actually saw who killed Joffrey. Who actually put the poison in his drink. We watched them perpetrating it. Watch it again.
Game of Thrones is the only show where viewers cheered the murder of a demon spawn child sadist.
Arya is resourceful AF.
Bran explained Guest Rights in his story of the Rat Cook in the episode following the Red Wedding.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Tywin wasn't "swallowing his pride," he was manipulating for his own best interests.
Exactly. He'd happily trade The Mountain for the cooperation of Dorne. He's big braining on maintaining order for the sake of his family remaining on top.
"it was great" 😂😂😂
this isn't the best series in game of thrones. this is the best season in television. ever. period.
Sometimes cousins are doppelgangers, especially since Jamie and Cercei are twins and had children together. And the other character that died was a Lannister. Maybe that's why they thought they could get away with Tommen being same character. Just my thoughts on it. But I said same thing when I watched.
That's actually such a great way to think about it. I just assumed they thought fans wouldn't notice for some weird reason and I feel like a dummy 😂
@@Zee-ms3uy I think it's much easier for the fans who binge watch the show simply because there is not the year-long lag time in between seasons that the original fans had to endure. That actor only had two short scenes in Season 3. There was no real reason to believe that people would remember his face a year later in Season 4.
Sansa was given the necklace so when it was time for her to escape she would trust the dude.
"I know who this fool is, you can't HIDE from me" shit was funny af dude.

the enemy of my enemy is my friend!
Oh yeah! It’s getting real bro
Rest easy, the worst is past and done."
She knew the voice. But he's in the Vale, she thought. Ser Lothor Brune stood beside him with a torch.
"Lord Petyr," Dontos called from the boat. "I must needs row back, before they think to look for me."
Petyr Baelish put a hand on the rail. "But first you'll want your payment. Ten thousand dragons, was it?"
"Ten thousand." Dontos rubbed his mouth with the back of his hand. "As you promised, my lord."
"Ser Lothor, the reward."
Lothor Brune dipped his torch.
He was a sot, and no man's friend."
"But he saved me.
"
"He sold you for a promise of ten thousand dragons. When I heard how you saved his life at Joff's tourney, I knew he would be the perfect catspaw."
Sansa felt sick. "He said he was my Florian."
Do you perchance recall what I said to you that day your father sat the Iron Throne?"
The moment came back to her vividly. "You told me that life was not a song. That I would learn that one day, to my sorrow." She felt tears in her eyes, but whether she wept for Ser Dontos Hollard, for Joff, for Tyrion, or for herself, Sansa could not say. ...................
Yeah Edmure Tully is still out there at the twins
I forgot we get to meet potatoe boy Olly this episode.
I ain't telling but I love who did it 😁
Sophie Turner sure can pull off the French Lieutenant's woman look.
That's my favorite single shot in this episode. She looks stunning.
@Paula C Well the show is going to do re shots.
I'm sure costume dept. did something.
Bookwise Sansa had time to change and hide her old clothes.
@@NovaLena22 I'm still waiting for mine.
@@pjfsr7024 Let me know when we hit it. :)
