Alex stood out in his audition by his looks, his smile, his personality, his song choice and by his decision to sing in a genre that others in the competition are not doing. No sad back story, just a genuine performer.
Yea he brought the original, if he do well he could even win.
Not just a song choice. The fact he performed a song he wrote himself and did this well is very rare

I'm 73 and I've heard a ton of music going all the way back to the beginning of the Beach Boys and Four Seasons. This song brought me back to the 60's and dancing a slow dance with that special girl at the prom. One of the best love songs I've heard in awhile.

Malt shops, cruisin' in muscle cars (yup just like the movie American Graffiti), great rock and roll music with the British Invasion and just hangin' out after school. Unfortunately the Vietnam war came soon after, but the 60's were innocent times for most of us.
I couldn't agree more ... this song reminded me of music I heard as a child in the 50s and 60s, I could listen to it all day 🥰

I actually found his honesty refreshing. When asked Do you think you can win one million dollars, he replied that he was just trying to get through the audition. That's a real answer and you could see he was thrilled that he accomplished this goal!

I was doing something at home and found myself singing and realized I was singing part of his song! That song catches you! It is so retro as Simon and Howie have said. I love the 50s and 60s style of music and I think he could have a fantastic future, because This retro style is some of the most romantic and heartfelt songs ever written! Please do more, Alex! I lived in Asia and I knew Alex was away before this, his songs "All that We Could Have Been" and "Play Pretend" went viral around 3-4 years ago.

Alex is so real and authentic that it really shows in his music and in his performance, like I do not relate to this song but I still felt so connected to it bc of his rawness

The kid is smart because the music of the 50s and 60s the vibe of the music has been starting to make a comeback with a modern twist and if this guy was less nervous and maybe tuned the music up a little this could be a modern hit.

He’s been around for years and he’s already gained millions of followers across social media platforms, hundreds of millions of likes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the number of streams, his music has has followed that, I’m actually quite confused why Alex is auditioning for America’s got talent if he already has a fan base. the only thing he’s really lacking is a record label that has picked him up
