Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season - Kanketsu-hen / Attack on Titan: Final Season - The Final Chapters
In the wake of Eren Yeager's cataclysmic actions, his friends and former enemies form an alliance against his genocidal rampage. Though once bitter foes, Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, and the remaining members of the Scout Regiment join forces with Reiner Braun and the survivors of the Marleyan military. Their meager united front sets out on a mission to stop Eren's wrath and-if possible-save their old comrade in the process.
As Eren pushes forward at any cost, he battles his own internal turmoil. Although he feels immense remorse over his horrific invasion, Eren believes he harbors noble intentions: he believes the path ahead is the only way to save his friends and, to a greater extent, his people.
The opposing battalions spiral toward an inevitable final clash that may claim the lives of millions. Though they face an army of monsters beyond anything they could have previously imagined, Mikasa, Armin, and their allies stand brave in the face of certain doom.

*For the ones asking what music I used for the Epilogue scenes, it's "No. 6 In My Dreams" by Esther Abrami.*
the original song was better
I don't think you need to speed up the tree growth scene. Actually you can count it past for 7 years, and it is 10 years since Eren died. Mikasa remembered him for ten years.
*Well, can't put the whole thing or the original soundtrack in the clip because it gets copyright blocked immediately.*
@@little_trash_pandaIt was more than 10 years, you can see her there as an old woman
thank u for this
& ngl not gonna deny attack on titan with all the war & walls similar to israel palestine war
A few fun facts:
1) Eren didn't open his eyes during rumbling, he opened his eyes in his last breath just to see Mikasa
2) Mikasa wrote “Here forever rest peacefully, my most beloved, my dear. 854” on Eren’s grave. The first two times Mikasa visits Eren’s grave she put four roses which means nothing will come between two people who love each other but cannot be together / tragic love. The last time she put one rose which means “you are still THE one".
3)A white flower was placed during her death, which symbolizes purity and virginity. So, taken together, Mikasa's flowers send the message that she won't forget Eren, she still loves him (but believes he can no longer love her back), she will remain devoted to him, and she is waiting.
4)They spent 4 years living together in Paths (ch. 138) And only when he “passed away” there, was she able to kill him in the real world. (it was a gift to them from Ymir)
5)In the ending credits where Eren and Mikasa were buried, an old man Armin still visiting their graves. He was the last to die from the trio, just like when they were kids running to the tree, he was the last one who reaches the tree.
Great facts, most likely wouldn't have figured it out.
Thanks for sharing.
5) just makes me so sad :(

@@angelsarereal4902 people consider that the child is adopted because mikasa understand the need of family as she was also adopted

Yet that tree suggests the Attack on Titan universe is trapped in an endless looped cycle of death and destruction which will only repeat itself endlessly until the Earth is destroyed or the universe ends. Just like the WW1 film 1917. There's a beautiful symbolism in that.
And the while titan thing started in a tree…😭😭😭
Im not even tryna act hard but there has never been an anime that has made me cry and feel the way i did for aot, dope series

@birbballs I mean that's what fanfics are for. It's clear that they lived out their lives, and that's all we can ask for after everything they've gone through. That's enough. That's not a good reason to dislike the ending.
I love how they all (Eren's friends) kept on visiting and lived their lives as Eren requested
I keep looking close and I notice that Mikasa ending up with jean. She really did it🥲
@@YellowJacketC good for Jean and Mikasa, it really adds to that one scene where Jean liked Mikasa but was disappointed when he saw she only liked eren
@@YellowJacketC Its not Jean its Armin, well to be fair its not easy to tell. In the manga for example its heavily indicated that Mikasa ended up dying as pure/virgin and she never had biological kids. Isayama the author of attack on titan showed a lot of his signature sings/foreshadowings of this being probably the truth. I mean her just wearing that dirty and smelly scarf still even after her death, is somewhat of a big proof that she never got over Eren.
@@pulkitdhanraj130As the guy explained below, it's probably Armin, but if it really is her husband, it's not Jean, because she was never interested in him, in fact, this random guy who was there with Mikasa is also the same as the farmer who married the story, so It's not Jean, it's either Armin or a random guy, and there are even sources that say the baby is either adopted or Armin's son, but she's the one holding it

I don’t think I’ll ever get over how tragic this ending was but that makes it all the more realistic. Our own world is like this, there’s never been actual peace. But what really broke my heart is Eren’s death.
Well there was actual peace for a long time in aot
I think its more akin to, no matter how much humanity in general wipe itself off of the face of the Earth, were gonna still be here, over and over again. Kinda shows how people can be horrible, but at the same time determined, and defiant.
And mikasa and jan marry
Erens death will never not make me sad
Eren didn't want permanent
peace. He only wanted his friends to live peacefully and his goal was achieved. His death wasn't meaningless
The epilogue really captures the quote
"The only thing that humans learn from history is that humans learn nothing from history."
The way Mikasa looks peaceful and content at first, but after recalling a memory of her and Eren’s childhood, she breaks down in tears, saying that she wants to see him again, fucking *broke me.*
It’s such a poignant and gut-wrenchingly realistic portrayal of grief, I cried right along with her.
Fucking beautiful
Literally the exact same. I’d already been crying throughout the entire episode, but that moment made me bawl.
Was that couple jean& Mikasa😢
Maybe we all did.
😂😂😂lol
For anyone curious about the manga’s version of the ending, it mostly plays out the same way. The key differences are the dialogues which have been extended and refine more in the anime, starting with the conversation between Eren and Armin in the path, and then there’s the visual difference that changes the meaning of the epilogue. In the manga, the future setting was close to ours, with modern skyscrapers and all. Since AOT technically takes place in the WW1 era, pretty much only a century has passed. Readers hated this because it shows that Eren and everyone else’s effort were in vain in protecting Paradise Island, and that the prejudice against them still exists and was the reason why the island was blown to bits.
In the anime, the future setting is far more futuristic, creating a sense that the destruction of the island has nothing to do with Eldians’ history, for it was too long in the past that the modern day people don’t feel attached to it any longer. So this makes it feel like Eren did succeed in protecting his love ones, and proved his point about the human condition. The only thing he could do was to delay the inevitable so far into the future that it was worth it.
thanks
I thank you for this! Really made my day
They left out armin thanking eren for genocide tho
Thanks
I frankly would have preferred if they went with the manga’s modern day ending.
In history, time and again great sacrifices ultimately amount to nothing. People die noblest of death only to achieve virtually nothing in the end.
That would be realistic.

I don't understand why Some anime/Manga Fans would hate this ending.. as this is Hajime Isayama's Meaning of that... "They finished the War, But the Damage has already done its job..."
As Peace was only Shortly lived for their years...
As Even after all Titans are Dead, Humanity still continued to Go at War at another... when Eren fought to Gain their Freedom back of "No longer being in a Cage"
This seems a Pretty Realsitic Ending for a Manga that went on since 2010, to 2023...
I feel like this is a Satisfying conclusion to a 10 or 11 year old Manga that's been going on....
Best ending would have been Eren finishing the Rumbling and then showing that internal conflict still remains in Paradis, questioning if it was worth it. It's obvious that 80% Rumbling isn't worth it, and everyone died so that Paradis could be wiped out in the future.
@@mariodoccia6129 ending is still best according to character of eren and mikasa he achieved what he wanted his friends lived peaceful lives
@@mariodoccia6129 Being sad over Paradis's fall in the year 2100 is like being sad over the fall of Rome. It is what it is, all nations fall. It's pretty clear that even if the rumbling went 100% Paradis would still be blown up by whatever new factions and groups emerge and divide that island amongst themselves.

The place where eren was buried was below the tree that grows after few decades into same kind of tree that ymir 2000 years ago came across..Meaning somebody probably buried or died at that place even before ymir's timeline and ymir got the powers. So in essence, they are considered in that society like the faceless legends, like Conficious or Genghis Khan or Alexander the Great
So maybe they remembered Eren or maybe they didnt, but it is just crazy to think how many of our ancestors must have had detailed battles and aspirations and relationships, and now are all just forgotten in the dust of the earth, or at best faceless legends and stories
At least Eren made sure his friends live a long and peaceful life, and the world maintained peace long enough to develop into 22nd century. Although humans will always find reasons to kill each other, he broke, or at least halted, the cycle for maybe 200 years, long enough for several generations to enjoy peace. Its world, its characters & the journey they went through will be forever engraved in my soul.
I'll cherish this forever.
See you later, Shingeki No Kyojin.
I want to like your comment but count is at 69, so I'm giving you a like as my reply.

It took 10 years, but the anime is finally finished and I am CRUSHED
After all this time... everything repeats itself... after all, war never changes... nor do we... Goodbye, Eren, Mikasa and Armin... 😔👌❤️❤️❤️
And the fact we got see their reunion in the after life in such a beautiful way is magnificent, biggest w ever
Wait were did you get to see their reunion
@@moeshabrown734 the official ending song called see you later the animation basically tells it all
Just too cheesy, same with eren turning into a bird. Just ugh
@@Exel3nce eh, everyone feels different about it

The music and the va was DEFINITELY what truly executed this scene so well. From going sad to that *classic* anime ending vibe music, making you realize the anime is actually over makes it hurt even more.
Thanks Isayama and the countless staffs, voice actors and much much more individuals who worked hard to give us such a masterpiece. It's been a long ride, but all good things must come to an end 😢
Remember Eren said to Mikasa in season 2 ?? He will wrap that scarf around her as many as she want. Forever as much as she want. He always kept her promise till he die. He wrap the scarf around her once last moment just like he did when they met each other while they were kids. The scarf that he gave her, make sure that she feel safe and always be with her till the end. That hit me so hard 😢😢
Damn bro, I just remembered that 😭😭
Guess he was lying lol
Is mikasa really married to jean and had kids
@@hardik5910 Nope. Mikasa never married to anyone. She stays single until she getting old and she buried in with Eren

I started this show in highschool as a senior. Im now 28 wearing a ring and got to watch the finale with my wife after convincing her to watch the entire show with me before it ended. Such a wild experience
I start read the manga from 1st times its release on my country (2009) and at that time i am the only one who read and know about this manga. Whenever i shows to my friends, they do not like it because the artstyle and a confusing story. Now everyone claims that they are no.1 fans of AOT. Loll
Seeing people say how much time has passed since they watched the show and all the things that happened to them warms my heart
Im sure Isayama felt the same too
NOOOOO LITTLE TIMMY!!! Don't go into the Eldritch Tree of Trauma!!!!
Timmy: But I want to make a treehouse for me and my dog! What can possibly be so bad about.....
He became an Eldritch Horror Founding Titan with all of eren's memories.
Is that a meme reference?
If so, kindly point me to the original?
I'm curious now 🤣
I just finnished watching attack on titan. And boy. It was one hell of a ride. And this scene is getting me. I mean the idea of everything that's happened after mikusa was long gone (including the others) is so impactful. Wow. They were right to recommend me this series. It's now one of my favorites
Wow I can't believe that this show is over. What a journey it has been. This show will always have a special place in my heart.
Same here!

Great ending to probably the last anime I'll ever watch. I grew up watching this stuff as a kid (back when anime was called "Manga Video" it was on VHS casette) now it's time to move on. Thank you for the memories.
Why? Why is to time to move on? Why don't you want to continue?
Absolute trash ending. What were you watching?

I'm only 2 years into Attack on Titan, yet I can't explain how much I'm gonna miss this. Thank you Hajime Isayama, Wit, MAPPA and Everyone who gave us this masterpiece of an anime. The void that ending had left in my heart can never be filled. I wish it never ended. It will always be my favourite anime. SHINZO WO SASAGEYO ✊.
There is plenty good anime out there trust me! This may stay at the top of your list but there are quite a few that I feel reach that peak and more!
Same ive only been a fan for just two years although ive seen it previously in 2014 although i was introduced the wrong way since my friend ask me to join them seeing the live action version i was traumatised only to find myself loving the anime in 2021.
I'm into Attack on Titan since 2020... The pain in my heart is unbearable 💔💔..... I just want to cry... I'm gonna miss this Masterpiece....
Same... i also started it 2 years age during covid and since then it has remained my favourite, at first i thought its similar to other shonen anime, but no this anime is so deep, and the best part is that this anime didnt take any sides, there's no good and evil, every character here had different motives and opinions shown beautifully and each one of them was fighting for it..... the creative presentation, the attention to details, the clever foreshadowing --- everything was done so perfectly by Isayama..... i will definitely binge watch this series atleast once every year
Yeah, now you gonna make another journey, now let's marathon one piece😂
Eren said he wants Mikasa to remember him for atleast 10 years. But Mikasa still remember Eren even in her last breath. This is a better love story than twilight (i haven't watched twilight)

It's hard to write this, but the end of Attack on Titan had a healing effect on me. The last few years have been hell in the real world, but... Seriously, it's like I've been to therapy. History is cyclical, wars never ended, in a conflict everyone has their own truth, this is life. Thanks Isayama for an amazing anime!
after this ep,i need therapy bro😢
Best ending. Super realistic and how isayama sensei pictured "nothing last forever" is amazing. More less like the reality we have when the world overdeveloped there will be another chaos and destruction. Thank you MAPPA for delivering a great artwork I hope they got pay increase. I hope Isayama sensei considering spinoff even though it's impossible. Post destruction of the world theme would be great 🥺
That is super realistic ? Ending got butchered
Man what a ride can't believe it's over
Ikr
i cant believe its over either. i hate tragic love type endings, but not in the "they suck" way, the "stop making me cry i've already gone through 10 boxes of tissues" way
Love.... The Hope, pain, happines, future, past, and others . Just one word is enough for this ending.
From 13 years old when the very first season came and I was watching it weekly to now being 23 and being able to read ''The End'' What a journey. Thank you for everyone who ever worked with AoT, you were part of my childhood and adulthood.
Spending the spring time of youth on this depressing anime 😭😂
@@sor3999 I agree with you
Mikasa really didn't forget Eren until the end by keeping her scarf.❤
will never understand the hate over this ending it perfectly captures the reality of the world we live in. Makes it so obvious that people hate it when reality is shoved into their faces like this. I mean I must agree it was a bit rushed and full of plot holes yet it was an overall amazing message.
wars will happen, people will discriminate one another over “beliefs” and everyone will fight for their own freedom, they will reach their own happy ending in a way, fulfill their own desires in life in the peace they have earned through hard work and, die. But humanity does not stay still and is in constant state of progress, the lives of those who have achieved their own peace and their ideal free world will be pursued in that peace and come to an end eventually. new people will come and progress and along with those new conflicts, new wars, new views, new ideal worlds.
Achieving complete peace in world is impossible because humanity never has and will never learn, greed, selfishness and their desire to exterminate anything and anyone who does not fit with their world view will always win over the good of their hearts, they will try erasing history and spreading false information about a certain group of people they don’t like to spread hate for them thus resulting in wars and battles. That’s why every human and each era is responsible of their own freedom, their own happiness and their own peace since our history and our current state clearly says that peace is not a permanent thing, one day everyone who has seen first hand how that peace was so hard earned will die and new people will come. This is the sad truth of our world and its my first time seeing it being told with such honesty in a media. Thats what makes AOT so beautiful. Also what Eren has done wasn’t in vain considering he wanted his friends to live happy long lives free of the threat of titans, and he succeeded in the end
Yeah, that's basically why right there, people want to live in their bubbles, they want to pretend the world is doing just fine and that the people ruling us have our best interests at heart (lmao) they want their bread, wine and circuses to continue ad Infinium and hate anyone who dares to rock the boat, the so called "conspiracy theorists" who dare to say things which offend their delicate sensibilities, vile slander such as: Major corporations and governments are all corrupt, that human nature has not changed and we're just as capable of evil as ever, arguably more so thanks to generations of garbage propaganda turning people into narcissists
It captures that the whole manga is a joke. Eren is a cuck. And he killed his mom for nothing.
Im 27 & my little bro is 20 now & he showed me this anime YEARS ago we finished watching it & i cant help but think how much time has passed for him to be an adult now compared to when he was just a little kid showing me this cool anime he found called attack on titan. The first girl I ever liked showed me this anime and she would wear a Aot jacket and backpack. And I loved how she used to show it off. Thanks to her I fell in love with this anime and it introduce me to what anime was at 12.
To see this end makes me think how long ago that moment was. I hate that I never got a chance to finish this anime with her but knowing that she loved that much I'm sure right now somewhere out there she's crying just as much as I am.

I just finished it and I am currently sobbing. It was an honor to be on this journey.
There are a lot of fairly new anime that I’m enjoying. Some with new seasons I’m currently enjoying. But AoT…it will always have a special place in my heart. Not to mention, the scores that go with it, chefs kiss. Hiroyuki Sawano also killed it from beginning to end. Thank you, ALL of AoT crew, for your incredible hard work. And thank you, Hajime Isayama, for giving us such a ride and for giving us these amazing characters.
Thank you Isayama-san for creating a beautiful story.
Thank you animators from Wit and MAPPA studio for bringing it to life .
A bittersweet ending, a win and a loss. Eren achieved his goal of creating a peaceful life for his friends but our primal urge to make conflict eventually took over once again and destroyed everything. As in real life, history tends to repeat itself. War never changes. Only when we can set our differences aside and come together as one species we will be able to create a better world, life is too short to have hate towards one another. Attack on Titan was a beautiful but tragic story with many life lessons, glad and blessed to have seen it all!!
That ending gave me goosebumps. It just shows no matter how much we sacrifice for the world, we will always see it in a state of turmoil for generations to come.
I agree, when the manga came out with this ending alot of people really disliked it but I honestly found it more realistic, no matter what there will always be war but there will be maybe peace someday I just thought also it would be 100x more better animated and I couldn’t thank mappa more for this
Bro, eren achieved nothing, the entire ending JUST happened because Ymirs stockholme syndrome kicked in at the end. Imagine 7yrs of storytelling going to waste because of magical girl and the author saying eren acted. Ending gave me cringe goosebumps.
@@CODA96agree
@@CODA96That’s the point, though. That the rumbling didn’t actual bring about eternal peace like so many wanted. That war is inevitable. But Eren really only wanted peace for his loved ones, anyway. And that’s what they got. They lived out the rest of their lives in peace.
just look at ww2 vets in america or whats left of them. they fought nazis and fascists only for their next generation to become the fascists they fought against.
Finished watching aot all seasons within a week, and the ending reflects our very reality, cycle never ends, history repeat itself. RIP eren, mikasa, armin ❤
I think that music you put on there makes it better because it made me feel how sad it is that everything is going away slowly, building new things and being blown away. Yet that tree still remains and it let out a tear in my eye
Damn it turned into Cyberpunk city at the end only to get destroyed in war
Lol ikr!! That was both cool and sad to think. But kinda what has happened around the world. Imagine the old cities build under the ones we have today what would someone think when they see them
The ending means humans will always find a way to fight among themselves
Idk but Paradise island in the end look like City Ruins on Nier Automata 😭

I'm glad it got destroyed. That's what alliance gets for stopping Eren
So it's finally over, huh? Finally, the end to a masterpiece that has been a part of my life for almost 7 years...truly brilliant! The vicious cycle of humanity's self-destruction never ends.
Started watching as a 10 year old to a 20 year old who is now witnessing this ending !some thing here is aching my heart ...taking out some breath 😢!
Really loved have alot of feeling towards this anime .....
How can a simple talk add so much depth to the series. "Promise me you'll throw the scarf away when I'm gone". She never threw it away. She kept it with her forever, she remembered him for her whole life. She still kind of a slave to her love for Eren. However, she's different from Ymir. Ymir's love was a nightmare. Mikasa, on the other hand, ended her own nightmare - and her lover's nightmare - and went to live a calm and normal life, even if she never really found thorough peace with it...
Is the bird trying to remove the scarf, or set the scar properly around her neck?
She's such a complex character. This is a true masterpiece.
Hits hard when still remembering the day 10 years ago watching the first ep dam thank you WIT and MAPPA

It has finally concluded and damn what a ride it was thanks Aot
Erens death wasn’t what made the ending sad for me. It’s that Mikasa and Erens love could never be.
Finally someone like me. We all knew inside that Eren was going to die. I didn't cry over Erwin,Hange,Sasha's death or Levi seeing his fallen comrades. But this scene made me let out the tears I was holding back for so long.
This is the greatest story I have ever known. I began watching this amazing story as a 11 - 12 year old kid and now I’m a 20 year old man, seeing it come to its cruel yet beautiful end.
What a time to be alive.
I think it's so beautiful how we develop alongside the stories. The me now is very different to the me who just began AOT years ago. Part of me feels like I grew up with characters. Well, I still have the same childish love for AOT.
Now Try One Piece 🤌
Yo, you started watching this as a 12 year old?
As a 25 year old I can tell thos shaped me the last 4 years.
When you watched it half your life this show definetly has some impact on your personality
Stop exaggerating
Can’t believe people were calling this the worst ending ever. Could it been better ? Of course. But this ending felt more realistic. With all the fighting our characters did, you can’t stop humans from fighting humans and war.
The message Isayama gives is so sad lol. As you say, he doesn't believe humanity can keep peace and avoid conflict
Yea, but the futuristic ending here is interesting like I'm pretty sure in the manga it said that 200 years passed after Eren's death so kudos to Eldia for their fast development, and sorry for then dying so fast😅
@friend9577 well after all what had happened before, the world was not going to forgive eldia easily. It just matter of time though
I still don't think it's necessarily the world waging war against Eldia. It could be just as easily the Yeagerists' successors versus the alliance (including some Eldians, likely descendants of the rest of our main cast) and the world. For all we know, many Eldians may have moved on from Paradis as well.
Its not realistic from anyway..... Especially eren's Peep talk with armin made everything weird on point. However Its not bad by any means....but it could have been much more impactful just like code Geass.... that's what people are saying.....
I’ve never cried this hard for a movie or show in my life . I’ll miss this show and Eren so much . Shinzou Wo Sasageyo and Tatakae 🫡
