I absolutely love Porsche. But that said, they've gotten way too high on their horse and are pricing their vehicles out of the range of most buyers at this point. I owned a Macan GTS and while I loved it, it did have quite a few small issues under warranty. Porsche is really becoming a private member only membership club type carmaker and it's a shame to see. You guys are so good I even enjoyed the ad (which is a never event for me). I find this tempting but probably not quite enough to give up my Targa 4S with the manual. With the GTS turbos I think a tune from one of the majors will add plenty more power if desired. I had a 991.2 C4 cab and it was more than enough for real world driving IMO. I only went to "S" cars in the 992s to keep the manual.
I recently went with a manual Cayman S. Porsche is making it hard to get an entry level manual 911. Where I live, there is a luxury car tax that would have put the 911T, with a few options, at close to $200,000. Not to mention having to wait for an allocation to appear. Having driven both, I fell in love with the Cayman and, performance-wise I’m not missing anything in the canyon roads that I prefer. Yes, for the same money I could have bought a C8. But, for me, half the fun of driving a sports car is the manual shifting. What can I say, its a sickness 😂 Great video!
The Lotus Emira has a manual option, although whether you consider that a competitor is another matter. Personally, what puts me off is the deletion of the 7th overdrive gear for motorway use and the limited interior options. I'd be paying more for a T with poverty-looking cloth interior than a base Carrera with black/cognac semi-aniline. May as well hold out for a manual S.
5:20 - watching the launch and I'm wondering... when I'm in a parking lot and crawling around to find a spot, will I have to ride the clutch? The only manuals I've owned were Hondas where first gear is super short.
I think if you don't want or need the extra cabin space / back seat there probably isn't much point. I personally think 911s are more comfortable, but for me I'd still probably get the Cayman and save the money. Then the question is Cayman GTS or used Cayman GT4.
@@kovaji8212 Cayman also has much better interior, because of physical gauges and buttons, and there is no haptic or "piano black" cheapness. And Cayman 4.0 engine remains naturally-aspirated (rarity nowadays), so it sounds better.
When they have a model with Turbo in the name and no actual turbo, you know they’ve lost the plot. And what the hell is this - Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid??
It's the one I would go for, especially as a second fun car, but the price of these things is actually ridiculous. I can't afford the 911 regardless, but an M2 for less than half the price with more power, better practicality and a manual is the enthusiast bargain of the decade.
I tnink these will depreciate a little more than the old model, as its starting from a higher list price and looking on autotrader there are many more about. I’ve always seen myself as a real petrol head, spend loads of time watching these RUclips reviews and viewing the car market etc. But the price of anything modern just seems bananas. Can’t see how I’ll be able to justify that sort of spend even used as they are still a sizeable wedge. When your car payment is bigger than the mortgage payment it doesn’t seem quite right
RUclips creates so many admirers that there is plenty of deman from those with more cash than a typical petrol head. There are plenty of good used boxsters and caymans if it must be porschse.
@ I own a 987.2 R already, can’t see how I trade it in ever really as the prices of anything newer are crazy. Run a 2021 pick up as daily, and wonder to myself what I’m going to replace that with when it goes bang, which all these modern turbo engines do sooner or later electric cars are an absolute fortune and depreciation is savage tax saving or not. I’m thinking an older car and pay an auto electrician to get apple car play into it 😂
Amazing car. Performance is a little odd, you pay that money it’s just going to be an adjustment to know a new M2 at less than 1/2 the price could be faster.
I love it when you say that Porches are boring and then you add "- there are just no major flaws to them". If that's the only boring part, then this is pretty great car! :)
I feel like we need a savagegeese Porsche buyers guide. For example, I'm close to considering a Porsche for my next car, but it's still a big purchase. Is the Cabriolet a noticable performance difference? Will I ever actually use more performance than an S/4S on the street? If I've only ever driven automatic cars, is it a bad idea to get a manual over a PDK? In what case should I get a 718 GTS over a base 911? etc.
That is a very nice red jacket Jack! Maybe T does stand voor testosterone after all. Can totally see you drivin' and vibin' in that T with that outro song playing.
Honestly….the price is what keeps me away from buying a Porsche….$135k for that? Nope. If that car was around $90k? It would the best selling car in the planet….but loaded with options is around $160k!!! NUTS!!!
but at least an M3 has 500hp….much much faster than the T …..and its only $100k…. See my point? 388hp and six speeds is DEFINITELY NOT $135k…..$90k is more appropriate. Yes it’s superior car than the BMW…but we have to be honest here….we all want the most HP…we all want the fastest….we all want the bragging rights….and the T is non of those….period. Not for $135k….hell no
You are 100% correct….but then, why the hell is everyone modifying their damn cars then? You can fool yourself and claim you do not care about hp…but reality is, HP matters and Porsche is riding on the superior, quality built angle…but over pricing their cars….. And yes more HP doesn’t mean better…..but tell that to Ferrari or Lamborghini…ETC. Ask them why they stayed at 490hp from the F40 perfection?
@HISVOICE4LIFE because it's an addiction. I can guarantee you this car is way more enjoyable to drive than a G80 M3. And never has a 911 cost less than a M3 in the history of cars.

Those wheels are sick
You should have titled the video, "Playing Games With Your Wallet"
The Carrera T purred away real horrorshow.
I never skip a savagegeese promotion.
What can I say, its a sickness 😂
Great video!
This is the only mid-video promotion that I've ever sat through. I now own 7 Flexispot desks.
Porsche should allow you to spec the foldable buckets & also get PCCB
Luv that they finally put a proper 6 speed manual back into a Carrera, a la 997 days.
I used to have a 991.2 with 7 speed MT and was very lackluster.
Say what you like about the 992, it is a truly capable and refined machine. Thank you for the video
Good to hear the "tchassis" is still great
Porsche pricing is getting ridiculous at this point. They are milking money.
Just wanted to say thank you for another tremendous year of output... You two are the absolute best.
Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving!
7:01 shots fired at MKBHD lol
You don’t need to highly spec one of these, keep it light and simple
Apparently these things take to tuning really well. You can get them into the 600-700 HP range.
Great review! I like how you compared it to the 992.1T
Love the Clockwork Orange reference :)
Ad was a banger today. Didn’t skip it.
Sponsor clip was 10/10 🤣
5:20 - watching the launch and I'm wondering... when I'm in a parking lot and crawling around to find a spot, will I have to ride the clutch? The only manuals I've owned were Hondas where first gear is super short.
What's the point when I can get a decently-equipped Cayman 4.0 GTS for at least 60k less ?
I think if you don't want or need the extra cabin space / back seat there probably isn't much point. I personally think 911s are more comfortable, but for me I'd still probably get the Cayman and save the money. Then the question is Cayman GTS or used Cayman GT4.
@@kovaji8212 Cayman also has much better interior, because of physical gauges and buttons, and there is no haptic or "piano black" cheapness. And Cayman 4.0 engine remains naturally-aspirated (rarity nowadays), so it sounds better.
I choose Porsche. There is no substitute.
The manual transmission placard is just so ridiculously funny. Just in case you didn't know what that gear lever was. LMFAO!
4:10 Mike Hunt!! Lmao!
blurring of the speed at the perfect moment...genius
The price of this is just wow!
Oooh the shade on the blurred speedo. So petty but I'm here for it.
Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture for a German car 😂
can someone help me understand what is different between this and the Carrera S from a buyers point of view?
I am a Porsche fan
I own a Porsche
I am a car enthusiast
I still do not understand the 911 lineup
Thank god. It makes zero sense to the rest of us
It used to be relatively simple
C2
C4
C4s
GTS
GT3
Turbo
GT3RS
GT2RS
@@chucky29949it still is. Not that difficult mate.
When they have a model with Turbo in the name and no actual turbo, you know they’ve lost the plot. And what the hell is this - Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid??
Mark is kinda messy, but he’s all we have…And, Mark is more energetic than Jack in doing boring cars…
I feel like 150k is sure a lot, but a an M4 manual is not far behind - and you get way more enjoyable car with the T.
It's the one I would go for, especially as a second fun car, but the price of these things is actually ridiculous. I can't afford the 911 regardless, but an M2 for less than half the price with more power, better practicality and a manual is the enthusiast bargain of the decade.
As great as this may be, the fact that every neighborhood now has one or two or more makes this is a has-been.
Porsche techs call Jack “b58 boy”
Ok I did not realize the base carerra comes with an open diff as standard. Thats sort of sad for a six figure sports car. 😂
Can’t even rev out 3rd 😢
my miata redlines 3rd at 78 like this does 2nd lol
I like the subtle blue accents
I drove a friend carrera t. Was pretty disappointed. I'd rather have an emira honestly.
Have a nice day good week and happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your family
Run a 2021 pick up as daily, and wonder to myself what I’m going to replace that with when it goes bang, which all these modern turbo engines do sooner or later
electric cars are an absolute fortune and depreciation is savage tax saving or not.
I’m thinking an older car and pay an auto electrician to get apple car play into it 😂
Amazing car. Performance is a little odd, you pay that money it’s just going to be an adjustment to know a new M2 at less than 1/2 the price could be faster.
Or a 981 S/GTS being 12 years old, just as quick but sounding and handling even better. Just a fraction of the cost
I love it when you say that Porches are boring and then you add "- there are just no major flaws to them". If that's the only boring part, then this is pretty great car! :)
Glad you could enjoy Blood Mtn! You're in my back yard!
Too bad they don't offer more options on the Carrera T, but I guess they want to limit it so people will buy the GT3 for those.
Good to see we got some more Flexispot and Porsche content.
Never have so many demanded so much from so few.
Well Done.
I like it. Wish it was at least 400hp stock.
In what case should I get a 718 GTS over a base 911? etc.
Just use common sense my friend
What does Jack love more?: the B58 or the 911?
V8
OMG, the freaking actual 992.2 video doesn’t start till after 5 mins of ads. Geewiz boys! 🙄
Them wheel are hot hot.
The Silverback Porsche guy is back with another variant 😂😂
That is a very nice red jacket Jack! Maybe T does stand voor testosterone after all. Can totally see you drivin' and vibin' in that T with that outro song playing.
Honestly….the price is what keeps me away from buying a Porsche….$135k for that? Nope. If that car was around $90k? It would the best selling car in the planet….but loaded with options is around $160k!!! NUTS!!!
A m3 cost 100k nowadays. In what world would this car be 90k?
but at least an M3 has 500hp….much much faster than the T …..and its only $100k…. Not for $135k….hell no
@@HISVOICE4LIFE everything you said is incorrect more horsepower does not equal better
I love what you guys do, but I much prefer the videos where you're both in the car due to your synergy.
I tend to skip the videos where there's only one of you.
Amazing ad, lol.
thanks for honest reviews
