This my favorite auto channel on RUclips! I love the mix of humor technical review and driver impressions! As for the Porsche I was never much of a fan boy until I had the pleasure of driving a GT2 at one of these driving experiences. I was all excited to drive a Lamborghini and a Ferrari (which I really didn't fit in as I am a little over 6' 3") and enjoyed those cars but one of the instructors talked me in to driving the Porches GT2 and OMG I fell in love with that car that I paid for 2 more sessions! I felt the most comfortable in the Porsche and had the fastest laps that just kept getting better and better. Thank you guys for the great content and keep them coming!
What a great review. Probably the most comprehensive 992 review I've seen anywhere. Love the engineering details you guys covered. About the only issue I had is the comment about trial braking and how all 911's are good at it. That's totally false. I have a 997.1 C2 and my number one complaint about the handling is how you CANNOT trail brake the car. Lots of Google searches will you show that for the 997, Porsche decided they would not allow the car to rotate under braking -- even if you turn off TC and PSM. So even if you turn off PSM it's never fully off and you can't get the car to rotate, unless you purposely upset the car to the point where PSM can't correct for you. As an experienced driver who was able to consistently trail brake a Lotus Elise through corners around all kinds of race tracks, I can't do it in my 997. And it's super frustrating. Other than that little personal trigger, it was a great video.
This channel is incredible. They do reviews better than virtually every everyone else on RUclips. In fact, they're even better than channels that have millions of dollars/euros etc. funding them. Cheers.
I am also SO THANKFUL that Porsche stayed honest and does not “pipe in “ fake engine noises like BMW !! As a 30 year BMW owner in the 80’s and 90’s ( I owned a wonderful gray market 1985 M535i never should of sold it ! ) I find their move sacrilege!!

I want to thank you guys for what you do. You two are the gold standard to me for when I want to see an automotive review. Absolutely love your layout for reviews, including the technical part - really sets you apart. The Porsche 911 is the car that I aspire to have one day; don't know if it will ever happen, but one can dream. I currently drive a BMW M240i, which I'll keep forever if I don't have the financial means for the 911 - but my God, the 911, from its incremental changes/improvements from generation to generation, to its build quality, legacy and performance that is unmatched. Rarely is Mark so uncritical of/so smitten by a car! The absolute joy both of you felt during the driving portion was obvious!
...you guys did become one of my favourite channels! Great mix of information, still delivered with The Driver in mind, based on a good fundament of knowledge and inside. Congratulations 👏

I know I keep saying this. Best car review show on RUclips. It's more than a review show. When you guys do episodes like this is a tech history extravaganza!
This review sold me the car. I ended up purchasing a new 2021 911 Carrera S in Australia a year ago. My only criticism is that the sound is reduced due to the OPF's in Australia/UK. I think the US version does sound better, you do get to hear more of the flax six sound. Otherwise its been the perfect daily driver's car.
Thanks guys, as always, brilliant insight into some interesting technical aspects in great detail. When you review cars, I more often than not end up wanting to buy one...
I'm so impressed with this car I think I want to disassemble one and look at and get to know it and then put it back together with extreme care. I've never been so impressed with the engineering of a car in my life! This is the kind of engineering and attention to detail that the other German car manufacturers have lost. I'm 71 and I'd drive one of these with the manual gear box and love every minute of it.
Mr. Goose, I have been your subscriber since 2 years ago and in one of your videos, my comment got the most likes was the "getting trick into the wrong cars" the fine print series. This Porsche 911 992 generation review was so good yet very heavy! I have to pause to really understand the technical topic that you explained twice. I let my friend who is in mechanical engineering in Uni. He let his professor knows and it now becomes an informal discussion material for his class! Thank you for your quality content!
Incredibly thorough and interesting review of the Porsche Carrera S 992. You guys made complex engineering simple to understand and appreciate. Great job! Thanks.
My missus and I bought an LC500 a couple seasons back. The lease is up this coming spring, and this is our next car. Can't wait, the enthusiasm in this review is exactly how I felt when I drove the 992 S.
Nope, Porsche 911’s come apart very easily and rebuild very quickly and easily and are well built and engineered. Servicing is very easy. Just remove the under panels, bumper skins and lights as required... all come off very easily and refit as easily with no adjustments or complications
This is not a normal car.... The 911 has been a league ahead ever since I first saw them racing at Brands Hatch in the late 60s and 70s... Loved it then, Really Love it now.😍
In 2013, I brought my 2012 991 Carrera into the Porsche Dealer for an annual tuneup and oil change. I was loaned a 997 Carrera S. After driving the S for the day and then picking up my 991, the comparison just blew me away. The newest generation was so much better than the previous generation that my Carrera standard was so much better than the S in every area. Apparently 8 years of evolution in the S, makes the latest generation so much more car than the earlier generation that the two are almost not comparable. It is so much better. An interior that is special and still has switches and the electronics that control the car make it an amazing experience and in control in all cases, even during the rain. The 991 was so much car that I'm in no hurry to part with my old NA 3.4 liter standard Carrera. For those who don't have a Porsche but always wanted one, the S version of this latest car (or a GTS version) is the one to have, unless you have to have a super car. Then you'll have to pony up the money to afford the GT3. AF
I feel like I should live-blog the 20 minute tech section. 13:42 Where are sensors for rain sensing wipers and would they overrule the wheel-well wetness sensors ? Trust Porsche to design for the scenario where it stopped raining but you still have a wet road, but no other traffic, so there is no wet spray to trigger the windshield wiper sensors.
Absolutely brilliant video guys. Best 992 Carrera review on RUclips. Loads of technical info I never knew. Oh, I have a one of the very first 992 Carrera S’ in the UK. Took delivery March 2019 and have over 16k miles. Keep up the good work 👍

I like your videos for numerous other reasons (the humor, the technical depth, the unvarnished opinions) but just want to give a shout out to the eye candy quality of your videos. Guys, you are the best at really unpacking any car you review to its core, from its basic building blocks to what makes it work, then giving your honest impressions of the car after driving it. So much better than all the ho-hum reviews on the net. Keep up the good work. And, oh yeah, the 992 911 is simply magnificent, thanks to Porsche for their persistent R&D that somehow keeps making this iconic car better with each iteration.
@@shreyasshekhar4851 Yep, exactly. And not just that. When it needs oil, brakes, and other consumables it just gets to be out of reach for all but the retired and very wealthy. Maybe in a few years we will see these two successful enough to afford something like a Cayman R or 911 GT3
Porsche is more reliable than any Japanese car brand. In fact, it's been the MOST reliable car brand in the world for 2 years in a row globally, topping Lexus on 2nd place. And before that, it was always in top 3. And it's not even reliability, it's DURABILITY that puts Porsche in a totally different league. They can take abuse over years and still drive and feel like brand new, while Japanese cars tend to rattle themselves to pieces. People need to realize the difference between DURABILITY and RELIABILITY. Two different terms, and European cars tend to get shat on for reliability (mostly due to terrible servicing in USA) , but their durability is ignored. And they're WITHOUT ANY QUESTION the most durable in the world, with Porsche coming on top of that heap most likely.

One of the best videos I have seen on the 992. Brilliant! You also got a great spec, it made open the configurator. That said, at two points in the video (last one at 29:55) you mention "Volkswagen Audi Group", assuming this is your interpretation of VAG; I want to warn you that is not correct. It stands for Volkswagen AG = Volkswagen AktienGesellschaft. The international name of VAG is simply Volkswagen Group.
Really like your reviews guys - you cover cars the way they should be done. I recently took delivery of a 2021 991 S with all RWS, PDCC and PASM and you have hit the review spot on and accurately. Strong work. And as a 991.1 owner doing the upgrade to the 992, you are right on the money as to how this new platform blows away the prior generation.

Just placed my order - a lifelong dream fulfilled and thanks to you both.
This is the very first of Your videos I have ever seen and something's telling me that it's not the last one 💪.
Fair Play!
This channel is incredible. They do reviews better than virtually every everyone else on RUclips. In fact, they're even better than channels that have millions of dollars/euros etc. funding them. Cheers.
I regularly watch and re-watch a lot of their videos. The production value and knowledge is great. Check out their other videos!
Cars such as this are the reasons I buy lottery tickets.
I buy one a week. If it’s meant to be then I’ll get it.
You're better off working hard, save that lottery money to actually buy the car haha
Just automatically put money into a Vanguard index fund every week and in 20 years you'll have it. People always want instant gratification that's why you see so many suckers who make $40k a year driving $50k trucks.
@@PianoBlackTrimRep. $2 a week is nothing. It’s fun to play.
1 in 14 million your chances of winning on Lottery good luck lol
This was one of the best 2021 911 Porsche reviews I’ve seen yet. Excellent! Thank you! Keep it up! Give us more! Love the comedy also. Historians. LOL!
Best reviews a person could ever watch. Thanks for the time and effort you guys put into this.
The absolute joy both of you felt during the driving portion was obvious!
interior quality got worse compared to the 991.2 actually
...you guys did become one of my favourite channels! Great mix of information, still delivered with The Driver in mind, based on a good fundament of knowledge and inside. Congratulations 👏
I enjoy watching car reviews on a very regular basis. This is THE best technical review by people that understand what they are talking about that I have ever seen. Gentlemen, thank you for your time in presenting this most comprehensive review.
Great deep dive. When you barely hear Mark complain about the interior, you know it's a winner. You guys should do a "how'd we spec it" series.
I know I keep saying this. Best car review show on RUclips. It's more than a review show. When you guys do episodes like this is a tech history extravaganza!
Jack really puts some work in on the technical side!
I've watched this review 4 times and something tells me, I will watch it more. I didn't like the 992 until that review!
I love the technical talk, you guys are the best, thank you!
Only 423k subs? this channel is so Underated!!! Love your content!!
I am about take delivery of my new 2024 911 S Guards Red after 17 months on an allocation list. Thanks for this video.
These two dudes are just awesome! Absolutely love all the detail and their style in presenting.
My favorite testers for technical analysis and deep driving feedback. Great job.
What most people don’t understand is that Porsche’s engines sing a song.
Porsche makes the best cars in the world period. They've stuck to their roots and haven't abandoned them like, cough...cough... BMW.
Incredibly thorough and interesting review of the Porsche Carrera S 992. You guys made complex engineering simple to understand and appreciate. Great job! Thanks.
Slowly all this great technology trickles down and hopefully soon I can get aftermarket adaptive shocks for my golf gti mk7
This stuff trickles down to the masses like rich old people's pee.
check out the tech on the new mk8 golf R. it's happening right now.
My missus and I bought an LC500 a couple seasons back. The lease is up this coming spring, and this is our next car. Can't wait, the enthusiasm in this review is exactly how I felt when I drove the 992 S.
I was impressed by the review instead of the car. It is thorough and clear at the same time. SAVAGEgeese's 2020 best Review
The MOST BEAUTIFUL car on the road IMHO...The lines are so PURE & FLAWLESS! Hatts off to Porsche for this 991 911: they nailed it!
The maintenance must be sort of complicated!
Nope, Porsche 911’s come apart very easily and rebuild very quickly and easily and are well built and engineered. Servicing is very easy.
Just remove the under panels, bumper skins and lights as required... all come off very easily and refit as easily with no adjustments or complications

Hands down the most comprehensive review of a 911 you can find. Top top work guys.
That right turn with the power lines on the left should be named the savage elbow, i swear i see it in almost all of their driving footage
Love the shoppe tech segment. You guys find more material than I can even search and find on net. Excellent job.
This is not a normal car.... The 911 has been a league ahead ever since I first saw them racing at Brands Hatch in the late 60s and 70s... Loved it then, Really Love it now.😍
One of the best clips on Porsche.
when jack singapore sprinkles porsche knowledge all over your face
Trust Porsche to design for the scenario where it stopped raining but you still have a wet road, but no other traffic, so there is no wet spray to trigger the windshield wiper sensors.
rain sensor is a LED based system in the windshield. its complete separate from the other system
@@benjaminkessler8169 Correct, in most vehicles it’s tucked into the housing where the rear view mirror is adhered to the windshield
Absolutely brilliant video guys. Best 992 Carrera review on RUclips. Loads of technical info I never knew. Oh, I have a one of the very first 992 Carrera S’ in the UK. Took delivery March 2019 and have over 16k miles. Keep up the good work 👍

Long time viewer (and subscriber) here. Just want to say I notice and appreciate the quality of the production that goes into every one of your videos. Every shot is perfectly exposed and composed.
I just love how timeless the look for 911s are. It's too bad I prefer boring Japanese reliability :(
for us, mortals, japanese reliability is the best we can have :)
Porsche's tend to be pretty reliable actually. It's too bad they cost so much to fix.
Yeah totally agree with you, but the 911 is considered to be the most reliable car from Germany. But when it breaks it costs a lot
Awesome video as usual. Jack and Mark have such good chemistry as hosts.

“AG” is denoting the legal entity type... So “AG” in Germany is similar to “Inc.” in US terms.
