I am kind of surprised how good of shape the truck is in, It sat in a mud hole in a junk yard for about 25 years before I bought it. It has been up high and dry since but I always figured it would be a rotted hulk underneath. Fortunately, it is not that bad. the worst rust appears to be the cancer in the right front fender. Aside from the obvious missing glass, dings and dents and the rust on the left front fender, the truck is surprisingly solid. I will wait to make the final decision till after I get it running but I am leaning towards a patina rat rod with it.
I still have one of those horn buttons from the ‘53 I once owned… cool trucks & love the ol’ flatties!!
