Very Cool!!! I got to drive mine some this weekend and hope to have a video soon. Still need to tidy up some things on the mechanical side then try to make it look better but its primary function is a work truck for me. I hope to do another one some day but more for show and from the 50s like yours. Great project!
Welds gotta nice bead; the work was documented well. I'm helping John of The Highway Community of Mountain View, CA replace the front end 1969 F150 and hope goes as well as your rebuild. Keep the spark strong!
I am doing the same type of thing. I have a 51 Ford F1 and I got a wrecked 05 Mustang GT. 4.6L 3V engine and T5 trans. I am also putting the entire front end from the Mustang under the truck too. I shortened the K member 7 1/2" and now I am struggling with deleting the Struts and adapting Coil over shocks and upper control arms.
Great job, I have a similar project but I wonder if it is cheaper/easier to retrofit or buy new suspension parts designed for my vehicle. Again, great job, it looks awesome.
soory my not so smart phone is acting up, i got me a 2005 crown victoria front suspension for my 1955 f100, can you please help me withh some pointers or even some measurements to begin this project. any help will be greatly appreciate
I have a question about the Crown Vic suspension. Did you have to take the strut out in order to remove the upper control arm? Because I have to replace the upper control arm on my '05 Mercury Grand Marquis and I need to know if I have to take the strut out. Thanks.
hey thanks again. i did the IFS swap on my 54. i did some minor changes but all in all it came out perfect, i even did my swap with all the sheet metal in place. all i did was cut out the dented part of the inner fenders. I made drawings of every thing on auto-cad and i have now helped over 20 others do it. Any progress on your truck?
hey i finally found this, i have been told about 50%of the time that it is to wide to make a CV type suspension work on my 54. looks like it will work. how is the fender clearance up front? need more offset wheels or will the merc wheels stock offset work? im going to do this and i would be interested in more pic's if you dont mind sharing those and any tips you have.
hey I have a ton of questions 1 how did you get the front suspension to work on your ford ? 2 did you use the same trans out of the vic ? 3 did you use the rear diff out of the vic ? isnt it to wide ? 4 the ifs looks like it just bolts on is it the same size as the ford frame ? please send me any and all info please I am building a 52 and want to do this swap thank you
josh young i couldn't agree more i don't understand these guys that always have to run chevy motors or frames etc if thats the case just build a damn chevy.. good job.
oh and one more question, i have seen the carb intake before and i was thinking on using a 4.6 but isn't the transmission controlled by the computer? or is there a separate computer for the tranny? those look killer with a carb intake.
Jarrod from what I remember they fit pretty well. Around the 6 min 28 second mark you can see them installed for mock up. Its a 1953 cab and repro front end on a 1956 frame. I can't believe that it has been over 10 years since I worked on this. I have lost contact with the owner and I am unsure whether he ever finished it :(
My uncle and i are currently doing a 08 police intercepter IFS swap on his 52 f100 but the frame isn't lining up with the alignment pins on the on the CV supenension one will line up but the other is right on the outside edge of the frame any help or suggestions would be awesome
@@waltera68 ah we just have that front supenension I seen a narrow frame boxing kit they sell but ain't bout to pay 300 some odd dollars for something I can weld together myself you know lol but thanks for the resposnse
Why not do it again and incorporate your ideas for "next time I'd"??? How much would you sell this one for? Just kidding, I know you wouldn't part with something you put so much heart into. Beautiful work!
A guy that actually knows how to weld. Nice job.

I have a 53 F250.. can i do this to it? seems pretty straight forward..
How does those fenders look on that donor frame truck?
And what year is that donor frame truck?

Thank you but very doubtful, I am still stationed a 1000 miles away. And the owner isn't getting any younger.
First thing l heard was a pedal steel guitar... that got my attention!
So you get it
Chevy Ford Dodge whatever you and the old man did your homework that's hell of a work you owe it to him finish the dam job now.....
do you still have the white cab ?
@filiyoscy ford's, lincoln's, mercury's, are all the same thing just different styles.
How you gonna do the steering linkage
if the 3650 trans is good in your wrecked 05 mustang use it.. the T5 will bolt up but it is super weak, rated at only 300lbs of torque
This makes me sick. Nice job.
FOR WHAT YEAR CROWN VIC BRINGS THAT SUSPENSION?
Id painted the Engine Ford Blue.
I want to do a Grand Marquis body swap, do you know if the Grand Marquis has the VIN stamped in the frame?
Ivan R yes
Where is it stamped? Thank you BTW!!
This pickup is still not done... it sits in a garage in VA while im on the West Coast.
can you give me an advice for a commen car something like Honda civic or hyundai alentra to swap the chassis of Nissan 300zx z32 ???
My uncle and i are currently doing a 08 police intercepter IFS swap on his 52 f100 but the frame isn't lining up with the alignment pins on the on the CV supenension one will line up but the other is right on the outside edge of the frame any help or suggestions would be awesome
That is partially why I welded in that part of the frame from the Mercury donor car.
@@waltera68 ah we just have that front supenension I seen a narrow frame boxing kit they sell but ain't bout to pay 300 some odd dollars for something I can weld together myself you know lol but thanks for the resposnse
At least when it's done you won't have to be seen in that Toyota
Why not do it again and incorporate your ideas for "next time I'd"??? How much would you sell this one for? Just kidding, I know you wouldn't part with something you put so much heart into. Beautiful work!
nice project, clean work. music....not so much lol
Everything is for sell for the right price
I would have made a 56 man
This was his Fathers 53, and he died not long after the project began.
Civic 1978 is it still up for sale?
Dang I need the roof off the white truck....
@VooDooAssassin2
Brain Head Welch Adonai
That was kinda anticlimactic.
Sadly it's still sitting there unfinished.
I hate the music
