Mike, this is exactly what we needed. We are a ministry in the Portland, Oregon Area and our students need to stay connected during Covid and continue to progress in their movement out of a poverty mind set. They are generally beginners in technology, like my bold self. I am just more relational to sit at a computer and figure it out. YOUR GUIDE IS SO PRACTICAL FOR THE GENERAL USER-not the host- and you speak American English. Thank you so much and keep it up!

Simple and easy to understand. It did not cover my need to find a way to automatically join a meeting scheduled by aonther person (?).

I host a weekly Toastmasters meeting. One of our members is in his seventies and has found Zoom to be extremely frustrating. I think he'll enjoy seeing people closer to his own age explaining the basics of joining a Zoom meeting. I don't mean to be insulting, believe me! It's just that the official Zoom videos all feature young 'uns, which could be demonstrating to my colleague that Zoom isn't for older people. Thank you for this great video!

I used the ellipsis to the right of the "like" thumb to open transcript. It works to rewind or jump ahead and is better than the audio or closed captioning to understand. The time stamps can be toggled on or off by single left clicking on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the transcript box.

This is one of the better helpful videos for using Zoom Meetings. You should make more of these for Zoom. So many other such tutorials on Zoom found on RUclips are too muddy and do not get to the point too well.

There is a typo you need to fix. At 0:59 the sound says to type in "Zoom.us". However, when you typed the characters in, you missed the "a" in amazon.com, so what we see you type is "azoom.us". Yours are the best videos I've seen to introduce Zoom to a tech-naive users, but this one mistake could throw many of them off.
You are correct. Chris did put an overlay with the correct web address. We'll probably redo the entire video at some point as Zoom changes. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for the succinct and readily understandable tutorial. I missed a meeting the other day when i got stuck on the 'waiting for the instructor' view. Yet the meeting had already started. I'm sure this will help.

Not every laptop has a camera and mic. Also, desktop computers don't have them. If it doesn't you will need a webcam and a USB mic. And get it working through the settings.
Most current consumer laptops have cameras and mics. They aren't always good. Any good USB camera will be better and they usually have good mics built in. Always check your settings.

Thanks so much for this video! My first Zoom experience was using my iPhone. I was lost. Fortunately it was a meeting I just needed to observe,, and I did. But I could not figure out how to interact when someone directed a question to me! Later, when I went in search of video help in order to get up to speed, most of the videos were tutorials on how to run a meeting. Your video was just what I needed. And I think in order to really understand how to use Zoom I will log on with my laptop next time. With more understanding and practice the iPhone should then be easy.
It helps to practice a lot.

It depends on the size of the screen you are using. What you are seeing is basically what I see on my screen. You have some control over how you view the meeting. Watch our other videos.

Does it matter if my computer does not have a camera; or voice command..I can hear the meeting, can i type a respond
You can join a meeting on a computer without a camera or microphone but Zoom is designed for video and sound. You can monitor and comment in the chat only.
