    Excellent video... thanks. You're very personable, and just what I'm looking for. I, too, have a MacBook Pro (bought Feb 2020). I have a Smart TV in the bedroom, but I zoom in another room and the TV is BIG, but not smart. So it was comforting to hear you say that I could connect my MacBook Pro to any TV.
    LOVE your golden dog (3:20).

I did not to give up and trying to explain what I wanted to do to clerks at Micro Center or Target was like talking to walls. It was just by chance I turned on You Tube and voila!! It all made since. The funny thing I had an older HP hub that could have done the trick but I got rid of it a few months back. Oh well. I will buy the one you suggested and hook it up. Thanks for the presentation. Hi - thanks for your excellent and clear video along with all the links. My question concerns audio. If I want to listen privately, have a soundbar and hook up my pc/mac via HDMI, how can I do that? On the TV my choices are TV Speakers or Soundbar. (Vizio). On the laptop, in Zoom I go to the Mute button (Audio) and choose the soundbar. All great. But what if I also want to listen privately with BT earphones? I haven't figured out that one! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • @WebDesignMX05

    Very elegant! However, how do you pull off a HDMI "Output" from a XPS 15 windows 10 Laptop using Zoom where the Laptop's HDMI is already occupied by a HDMI Capture Card "Input" that is connected to a GoPro Hero 8. I have this dilemma...the wired connection for video is always the strongest and most stable and tonight I had a family meeting on Zoom of about 21 people. However, it was difficult to see them very well...too many squares. I thought there must be some way to project the HDMI to a large HDMI monitor. However, the HDMI port for the HD60 S+ capture card is already occupied. It's piping video into the computer so what type of splitter or mixer device is capable of allowing the HDMI VIDEO "IN" and HDMI VIDEO "Out" from the Zoom Application simultaneously to the same port. As far as I know the the XPS does not have any other "wired" way to output video aside from the HDMI port. Again, I'm purposefully avoid chromecast or any wireless solutions as they result in unwanted video/audio "lag". Maybe there is a video mixer or something that could work but I don't know.

    • @WebDesignMX05
      @WebDesignMX05 3 года назад

      Update: I just discovered a solution to my question....there is a USB-C/Thunderbolt port that I am able to use to connect to a USB-C to HDMI adapter that can connect to a Monitor with HDMI IN.

    I recently (yesterday) bought the C920 & C922, to see which worked better. I'm curious why you choose C920 over the newer version. Also, I'm having a live presentation with about 25 people next week, where we will feature two virtual presentations via zoom. I want to broadcast them to a bigger screen, so I really appreciate your video describing how to do that, but I also want to have my webcam set up above the tv, like you're doing it, so that the guest audience may ask questions of the presenters. Will there be interference or any kind of device conflict by doing this?

      I like both the c920 and the c922. The 922 is newer, but I can't tell the difference. So I usually recommend the cheaper one ;-) Let me know if you see a difference. I can't imagine any conflicts with your setup.

    So the only thing you are doing is mirroring from your laptop to your tv, but i don't see the point of having a webcam on your tv.

    • @brightonwestvideo
      @brightonwestvideo  3 года назад +1

      Correct. The point of having the webcam on the TV is to try to line up where you are looking with the camera. Otherwise the camera from the laptop would be seeing kinda a side view.

    this day and time it should be easier than with all those cords. i mean really, we have planes in the air and we can even get a webcam to work without all those cords. this is crazy.

      I'm guessing some brand new TV's can do this without the cords. But my TV is old school ;-)

    no clear on the connection of the web cam to the tv.. can't the audience hear me if I just connect the webcam to the laptop and put it on top the tv?

    • @brightonwestvideo
      @brightonwestvideo  4 года назад

      Sorry - the webcam is just mounted on the TV like it would mount on a computer monitor. There are no cables between the two. You can put your laptop on top of the tv, but that will make the webcam even further from the TV... and that looks funny to the person on the other side.

      Great! My only worry would be the resolution of the TV. Computer monitors usually have a lot more pixels so it's easier to read text. Give it a try though!

      Angelia - I think you should be able to use any Zoom tools while connected to your TV. It's just acting like an extra monitor. BTW, you'll need a different connector for an iPad.
