Actually i don’t want it to be bigger and heavier, than i could buy a mini. i`d be happy, if the camera would improve a bit. Maybe some firmware updates will bring some improvements. But for the rest, i am pretty satisfied with this little drone. Everybody knows, that if you spent just 200 bucks, you cannot expect a master class.
I don't mind paying more for Better camera 4k/ 60 or better Longer battery life Better wind resistance ( heavier but still under 249g) Some sensors . Price range of the mini 3 pro/ 4 Pro but with the Neo platform and software. Fly more combo including the RC2 remote and 3 battery
I believe all of us, dji fan boys, were hoping for a mini avata 2 under 250 grams. But knowing dji’s history I am confident there is one coming or already in the process of being manufactured. I just can’t wait! Hurry DJI! Please.
I think it depends on what you want the NEO to be, if you want a smart selfie drone I think DJI would just be better off integrating that feature (as well as phone only control) into the future mini series since that series has 360 obstacle avoidance & vertical camera option.... but I suspect what most of us actually want is a sub 250g Avata that has the best possible camera & flight dynamics that can be packed into that weight limit, the NEO is very impressive for what it is but is so light it compromised more than it needed
I didn’t order the hoverair pro max because I don’t know if I could do panoramas. I canceled my DJI Neo preorder because of the camera. A Pro version of the Neo would get me to buy instantly. Selfie drone for vloggers, great cinematic shots with a controller, FPV capability. I would be absolutely sold.
Having bought it and just posted my first video using it, without crashing I’d like to see 1. Better camera 2. Bigger motors 2. Allow to adjust close/near/far using a distance slider, same for the height. For me to use for running, on the bike and skiing is great.
Coudnt agree more I knew from day 1 I thought this They have over 100 gram to add extras I really love the neo the indoor flying is so smooth on the goggles 3 and fpv 3 controller
My plan is to use this for quick action style shots with a selfie perspective. Im hoping it will get used a lot more than my MP3 due to the quick launch combined with pretty decent AI. Im guessing a Pro or version 2 will follow next year which will tick a lot more boxes. Assuming I get some goid use out if this, I will certainly upgrade but will continue to use the MP3 for mord cinematic footage 👌
Simple putting your are asking for another DJI-mini 4 pro for Vloggers. There is plenty of room for improvement not doubt, however I don’t think that was the DJI plan to start with. The mini 4 pro do all that and then some. And you suggesting triple the price? I do love your content by I think you’ve missed the point on this one. I rather lend a well capable $200 drone to my kid that is learning than to handle him my $800ish mini 4 pro. Don’t you think?
@@Ricmel01 I think this is completely different to the mini 4 pro and it should stay that way. Have a $199 Neo and a Neo plus which competes against the hover pro max. Same design and set up just a better camera and battery.
Great points, i've had many DJI rotorcraft & i have a Neo & RC2 arriving this week, i wanted the mini 4 pro, but this is "part way there" for Hella cheaper, M4p is planned for next month..
DJI Neo spec was made with the Neo 2 or pro in mind. Technology already here could have been included but would have made the next one more difficult. Companies think long term. I think it will take at least 2 more versions before what you said will be on the Neo. Very clever marketing by DJI
I like your list of recommendations for a pro. Would the Mini 4pro camera not be better than the 3pro? You know more about this than me so I have to ask
I was recently telling some of the folks over on the Facebook group that I was thinking of getting a Neo drone but after thinking about it a bit, I think I'll hold off till the next version comes out. I'd love for it to have a few more features that I could control using my NC2 controller. For the kind of recording I do, this size of drone is perfect. I mean, my Mini 4 Pro is small, but this is just the right size for me to take along on my extended range bicycle fishing trips. In particular, I'd like to have a bit more control and adjustments of the "Follow-Me" modes as well as having more to choose from in that particular menu.
I think that the neo is what it is a unique drone for a unique experience I personally would not change anything other than the camera to make it useable in semi-pro productions. If I want the capability of the mini pro 4 then I'll use that drone.
All that you said in your video, but add rear sensors as well for when it’s recording from the front while walking it can fly backwards without hitting things. People wouldn’t mind paying a little more for it if had most of what you said.
Neo pro: Under 200g (so i could add a gps tag). 8k 60fps/4k 120fps. Better color and low light imaging sensor. 45kph w wind resistance 5. Now, is an ip rating possible?
(1) Better Camera, even with same sensor size. (2) Forward obstacle avoidance (3) Better wind stability through larger props and (4) Slightly Larger (5) Max. Price point USD 250 That will be the best-seller in the beginner drone class.
Perhaps have it take RAW photos and add the sound of the Mini 3 or 4 as these are so much quieter.. it seems so high pitched and noisy considering it’s so small, guaranteed to annoy many!
Actually all DJI needs to do is add the Self Flying capabilities to the MIni 4 Pro with ability to use all 5 of the the control options like the Neo and it’s a game changer. All the benefits of sub 250grams drone plus the 360 avoidance Sensors with the existing powerful camera already in the Mini 4 Pro. Propeller guards to keep the public safe and it’s a wrap 🎉 What do you think ??
The build and design of the mini series would make a terrible fpv drone, i think it needs to stay in its own lane and develop the Neo series to be still similar to the avata design but with cinematic features and better camera
My suggestion is 1. SD card slot with 512gb capacity. 2. 180-200g with better battery life 25-30min. 3. 4K 180 4. Anti collision sensors front and rear with 180° angle 5. Capable with RC N1 remote.
Releasing a PRO version for any DJI series within months aligns with DJI's history, so I fully expect one to arrive between mid-November and late December. You're right to speculate on what its features might be. Personally, I anticipate that the lens will be able to rotate 90 degrees like the Mini 3/4. I also believe that any drone with tracking capabilities should have some form of obstacle avoidance sensor. For a drone this small, front sensors would at least be appropriate. I would love to see microphones on drones (though maybe not on this series). The software to cancel out drone noise already exists, so I'm surprised we haven't seen any yet. One last note: I feel this is a response to the HoverAir X1. Pricing it at $199 seems like a strategic move to shut out HoverAir and maintain market control. I mean, at $199, why not? Thank you again, Darren! I really enjoyed this video and love speculating about what DJI will come out with next.
Another point I forgot I wanted to make was if they keep improving on this series, then I feel it might even be competing with the Mini series (and Avata series now that I think about it). I wonder if those will eventually be phased out and the NEO will be able to be that drone that does what either did.
I would like to see audio in controller mode, I don’t like not getting audio unless using the phone, definitely a bigger light sensor, I feel like only being 135g they could definitely sell a extended life battery and still fly very well, last but not least is make it quiet. This drone disturbs the peace of others very fast. I feel like to use it as intended in a vlog type scenario it shouldn’t be disturbing everyone around you. That my top 3 complaints but I am really enjoying it overall. If we can stop DJI from limiting all the software pros on the other DJI drones then it would be the best selling drone hands down. Why not let it be the best and use it to its full capability!
I just barely got NEO. I do hope for now for few tweaks like ability to change the sharpnes and other stuff without RC N2 or 3 controller. Designing a bit more silent proppeler. And as in tello normal and fast speeds. As tello also struggled on hard wind on slow but on fast it had power to fight and be brought back. While as in tello comparison the app should let controll neo in landscape view not only in horisontal. Wonder how much 5G wifi is the cause of NEO range with telephone? Mayby also few more voice commands
I think this DJI Neo is a learning drone... If you already have mini series or better... if you already have avata 2 ..then i think you must buy this one.. if one of your friends or kids come and wanna try flying drone.. rather than let him fly with our much expensive drone or avata 2...we can let them learn with this drone.. even if it is broken.. you can buy it again drone only with only $199... i have crashed my dji mini 4 pro.. and i bought it again with another remote control.. what a waste lol..
Hi, I received mine today while it is a good little drone, the picture quality is very disappointing, and it's pretty useless flying indoors unless you have a lot of light. I don't know if to return it ?or hope DJI releases some software updates to improve picture quality,I know it's a budget drone but I expect more from DJI,I have two other drones and from DJI a the picture night and day better.
So in short, in order to make the NEO better, then make a better NEO 2 Fast? I would buy the next or 3rd generation of the NEO when it comes out with many of your desires. DJI does have the ability to do it having close to an additional 100grams to add on the NEO. But it IMO is not likely for DJI to come out with a version 2 so quickly and facing the dilemma of upsetting current NEO buyers who just bought or still waiting for their product, which really seems like more of a disappointment than joy. If they do come out with such a beast (That I would buy) it would be a complete all around Vlog and family vacation tool with incredible HD. But then, what happens to the Mini series? The will indeed have to increase that 1/1.3 sensor to a 1" sensor as their current flag ships are not 1" and I believe only shooting a max 5k ATM. It would be the end of the mini series and the beginning of something incredible with the NEO. I feel we should give thanks to the Hoverair Team for their original innovation that has inspired DJI to step it up and produce superior drones at an affordable price. I'm getting the Hoverair PRO Max and will get the upgraded NEO if and when it arrives, but the current version will likely collect dust or find itself on the used market in time for Christmas
My interest is to fly it as a fpv, using either goggles and controller 2 or the rc 1. Since I have the those I do not have any intentions of purchasing newer version equipment to fly a 200$ Neo. I fly my avata 1 & 2 in normal and sport modes. It would be nice to get a Neo to try to learn manual mode before attempting it on my avata’s. I know the Neo can be activated to work on the 2 generation of equipment just like the avata 2. So for now I’ll just pass until something is worked out. Come on DJI, update the Neo.
Well I think Dji should shrink the avata and make it less than 250g and try to again reduce size and weight and improve flow sensor for Neo to make it suit better for indoor.. So then we got avata series for outdoor fpv and neo for indoor fpv. Currently the neo dimension is 130*157. Typical 75mm tiny whoop is 100*100mm and 65mm whoop is only 81*81mm!!! Neo is 3.1 times size of our indoor champ!! Not to mention the weight for 65mm is usually less than 30g compare to 135g!!! Neo is sitting in the awark position of too small for outdoor(so its propeller scream like crazy) but too big for indoor (also the flow sensor not usable for indoor or low light).
IMHO weight should stay below 200g, size between the Neo and Avata 2. biggest improvement should be in battery life (20min), wind resistance (+1 level) and most importantly camera. as I don’t expect it to get a 3-axis gimbal, it should do 5.7k so that have stabilization we get 4k quality. Mini 3 sensor size would indeed be appreciated. SD card slot in place of internal storage would be a nice to have. But come to think of it, I guess Hover Air X1 Max at half the price is what we want as the Neo Pro ;)
It seems to me that DJI made the NEO to be software unlocked. The drone is obviously fettered by its programming. They are watching the HoverAir to see what they offer. They will unlock features such as camera quality and performance as needed to be competitive. At the same time, they can’t offer a Mini4 Pro killer, because who’s going to buy that when the unlocked NEO can be just as capable?
This video proves me right, the NEO is better than the Hober X1 without a doubt, but it has many shortcomings, it does everything but not in an outstanding way, it lacks image quality, it lacks power, it lacks size, it lacks more flight time, it lacked a bit of everything, it is the first of the NEO family without a doubt this DJI line has great potential for the future, but between those that get closer than an Avatar it would make less sense since this is going to raise its price and reduce its portability, it would stop making sense as a selfie drone. Regards.
I think your missing the point of this drone it's low specs low price and simple to use the improvement you want are basically avatar 2 with self fly .
Still... Neo willa bit any mini in case of taking it off pocket and starting flying. If they can do magic to correct the picture quality.... That might be a uneven fight
Just give a firmware update to improve video quality then I buy one or two for my kids. I need the video quality. Otherwise I just wait. It’s not about the experience or fun to fly. It’s about video quality for me. Hands down…
All companies want to leave us wanting more. It will be fantastic when anti-gravity versions are available so they can keep up with us on our hover boards.
The camera is ass cheeks. We shall see what the neo Pro brings next year to the table. Rather wait for the mini 5 pro in 2025. Currently have the air 2, and I have been using my gf's mini 3 quite a bit lately. Miss my air 1 it was pocket sized. I would love for the mini 5 pro to be pocket sized like the air 1 was. Neo is a toy for children Neo pro may not be we shall see only time will tell.

It's only just been released, and you are talking about a PRO version!. Give the Neo a chance, and see where the firmware updates take it.
I’m exited for the future of this, mostly all the points I make can’t be sorted with firmware
Typically I find even when DJI updates their drones they change things a bit so the original is still better in some regard. DJI is crazy.
Dji takes too long to update firmware and never adds or fixes things
This is best drone for this price range got lots of futures
And Can be used indoor and outdoor 😃
I don't mind paying more for
Better camera 4k/ 60 or better
Longer battery life
Better wind resistance ( heavier but still under 249g)
Some sensors .
Price range of the mini 3 pro/ 4 Pro but with the Neo platform and software.
Fly more combo including the RC2 remote and 3 battery
I think DJI already made the drone you're asking for,
it's called the Mini 4 Pro
I believe all of us, dji fan boys, were hoping for a mini avata 2 under 250 grams. But knowing dji’s history I am confident there is one coming or already in the process of being manufactured. I just can’t wait! Hurry DJI! Please.
I think you're right there. Dji are bringing out drones like Samsung phones 😅
Don't hurry. I've only just got Mine today. Give Me 18 months. I've still got another 6 months to upgrade My Mini 4 Pro to Mini 5 Pro
I'd love an Avata but it being over 250grams and having to potentially do A2CofC or whatever that turns into puts me off!
Well said but I think DJI nailed it. This is the vlogger drone and for that it's perfect.

Le Néo Pro que vous décrivez, je l achèterai à coup sûr 😊
Je n achèterai pas le Néo

Exactly normal and pro versions 👌
Is there going to be a mavic series announcement?
With all those features you would actually kill the Mini Pro Series.
Yep as long as the price is RIGHT!!
Neo pro: Under 200g (so i could add a gps tag). 8k 60fps/4k 120fps. Better color and low light imaging sensor. 45kph w wind resistance 5. Now, is an ip rating possible?
(1) Better Camera, even with same sensor size.
(2) Forward obstacle avoidance

(4) Slightly Larger
(5) Max. Price point USD 250
That will be the best-seller in the beginner drone class.

Glad you enjoyed
3 videos 3 days in a row amazing!!! 🤩
More to come! 😂
My suggestion is
1. SD card slot with 512gb capacity.
2. 180-200g with better battery life 25-30min.
3. 4K 180
4. Anti collision sensors front and rear with 180° angle
5. Capable with RC N1 remote.
You want ocusync 4 controllers for better signal transmission, rest is cool

True but I hope they keep it completely separate to them drones
I do too. One thing is clear to me that DJI knows there is a market for small drones (under 250g) and I'm here for it. 🙂
I will buy it when it's compatible with dji controller 2 and googles v2
I would like to see audio in controller mode, I don’t like not getting audio unless using the phone, definitely a bigger light sensor, I feel like only being 135g they could definitely sell a extended life battery and still fly very well, last but not least is make it quiet. I don't know why everyone is comparing neo to avata 😑.
Great video
Thank you for another great video Darren.
Are your red shorts paid promotions lol ❤
Haha
What im wanting is a beacon type device for the mini 4 pro like Skydio made for MTB tracking, that would be awesome
that goodbye hover 😂
Can the neo fly with just the motion 3 Handheld without the head unit....
no, you need head unit for it to connect
It seems to me that DJI made the NEO to be software unlocked. The drone is obviously fettered by its programming. They are watching the HoverAir to see what they offer. I think for the price is brilliant , keep this version and have a pro version at a high cost for that that want the added spec
I think your missing the point of this drone it's low specs low price and simple to use the improvement you want are basically avatar 2 with self fly .
Nah keep it like this for sure and also have pro versions too.
I agree with most of your recommendations however the price is sure to go up🤔at the moment 169 pounds is very affordable🙄
Yes 100%, have two versions
The product you want is already available…
… it’s called DJI Mini 4 Pro!
I WAS ABOUT TO BUY THIS BECAUSE IT IS ADVERTISED AS A VLOGGING DRONE IN THEIR WEBSITE. BUT,NOT WORTH IT, IF THE CAMERA IS OVER SATURATED. 😢
Ever heard of post production color correction bruh ❤️ and what's up with capital letters about a $199 gadget my Auntie Laura asks
By the time you buy a Neo, batteries and a controller you could have bought a used Mini. Exactly what I'm going to do.
Still... Neo willa bit any mini in case of taking it off pocket and starting flying. If they can do magic to correct the picture quality.... That might be a uneven fight
The Neo is a totally different drone. You need both
Just give a firmware update to improve video quality then I buy one or two for my kids. I need the video quality. Otherwise I just wait. It’s not about the experience or fun to fly. It’s about video quality for me. Hands down…
What your asking for is going to cost more money it good value leave it good value if you want what you say buy a mini
Please do range text 🙏
Lol, a 13 min range test or 6 min one way!
Makes ya laugh this have been put a month and some morons already want the pro version
Lunacy
I personally think it’s not suitable for the UK
Why?
@@charlesdove1345 Exactly why?
All companies want to leave us wanting more. It will be fantastic when anti-gravity versions are available so they can keep up with us on our hover boards.
the video is really bad no way its 4k !
If only we could improve that darn high pitched prop sound I would buy this in a hurry.
Is useless drone . Better stick with mini series.
