HOW TO HARD PLUMB A REEF TANK | MANIFOLD | FLOATING REACTORS | WATERBOX AQUARIUMS

- Whats up guys. In this video I go over how I hard plumb my reef tank, the waterbox 7225 pro clear. Hard plumbing the reef tank in my opinion just clean up every thing in the sump area. For the plumbing I went with the affordable route. I used basic white PVC from home depot. This is way cheaper than going with custom colored PVC from bulk reef supply. With my build I have two reactors from Aqua Maxx. One reactor is for bio pellets and the other reactor is for carbon. I want to hard plumb these items together. For my build I want only one pump to power everything. This mean one pump powering the bio pellet reactor, carbon reactor and UV. This will remove a lot of clutter and extra pumps in the sump. To do this we need to build out an easy manifold with PVC pipe and fittings. I show you how I structured my filtration and build out a manifold for the reef tank. With the manifold, it gives us the opportunity to have the reactors and UV float above the sump. The floating look in my opinion cleans up everything and will give me easy access to the reactors to change media when needed. Instead of having the items lay in the sump or stand, they are floating up above and out of the way. Let me know what you guys think!

@@teddyjohns7391 they have bought them out in the last three years. search aquamaxx pellet
Im plumbing the same two reactors into a manifold on a 75g build and this video gives me great point of reference, thankyou. Your tanks are looking fantastic. That red sea reefer is DOPE!🎉
Very clean.
Great ideas 💡 love the Lily Pipe idea❤️
Thank you!
I did the rewiring on my Aquatic life last week, definitely glad I did since its on a 24" cube 60gal. theres a good video by what the frag on how to do it. you have great videos for ideas and diy. thanks!
I saw that video a couple of times. I think I’ll be lazy and just extend the wires over 😅 vs moving the ballast and everything like he did
Great video keep up the good work you gave me great ideas !!!!
Thank you!
Looking good so far bro...
Hey brother Thanks! Hope the pipe sizing on this video helps you out.
I used a lily pipe for only a few months, I agree when it is clear it looks amazing! But, then the Coraline algae that grew in the pipe didn't come out with a standard "brush" that we use to clean the lily pipes and I didn't like how it wasn't coming off so I had to plumb a return line. I would use a union on your return so you have the option to swap the return line out in the future.
One thought I had since was to have two lily pipes (as expensive as they are) so you can have one cleaning in a bucket of citric acid, while the other one is on the display tank. (that might work for you, just a thought)
Yup I did that just now. I put a union at the end to allow me to swap heads if needed. If it works out I will probably end up buying two like you said
Fire the setup is coming together
Thank you brother
I have the same overflow box from BRS also got it cheap lol 😂 but it’s going to move a lot of water compared to what I have now
lol it came on close out at the right time.
Great video, just subscribed. How do you decide when to use glue and when to use PVC cement? Many thanks!
glue and pvc is same to me
Good plumbing skills looks gd ,, just gotta fit the skimmer in there too ,, how do u stop the refugium light growing algae on the reactors ?
The light will be under the reactors
@@prolificbreedaquatics nice loving the channel just subscribed
What kind of overflow box do you have??? I like your set up
Skimz it was close out at brs. I think you can find similar on aliexpress
It is really not cheap pipe, it is the same pipe except not colored. I don't understand why people need their sump to look aesthetically pleasing. To me it is a sump, it is where you put everything so your show tank looks good.
I know... how they over charge for everything is starting to turn me off
@@prolificbreedaquatics , Hey, I am watching this again because I am using the same aquamaxx I found for 40 bucks on offer up. I am going to try and make an algae reactor but just want to say your way save so much space. Love the build, you are like me, don't have 20K lying around for a hobby. :)
@@garrycole9187 that’s a score! I am always on offer up looking for deals too. I have not ran water through the system yet. Will be leaving town in a month and I don’t want to run the tank and leave for a week 😅
Lol you think you got enough pipe straps ?
