Since then I watched "Cart Boy"; the original TPB feature; "Gettint Learnt" (the "food" episode and the "fire" episode) ; and now I'm up to this video on the podcasts. I just ordered S1&S2... is what I've seen and ordered the best of Trailer Park Boys? Do I (honestly) need anything else? Or does it - as often happens: from films to bands to sitcoms - go downhill after the first two efforts, getting slightly worse in every season / iteration, until the thing that made it special is dead and rotting - tarnishing and tarring the original spirit and sentiment irreparably?

donny southwell agreed I like to believe it ended at season seven or don't legalize it. That out of the park miniseries was trashed too! It's kind of killed my enthusiasm for the show. I still enjoy these podcasts on the other hand.

Watching the boys improv is amazing, bubbles is perfect at setting up Ricky and giving him time to think and expand on topics in his rickyish way. Jullian is great with guests but I wish he was high more, when he's stoned its so funny to see him try to keep character but then is overcome by a joke and can't resist.

@@joedent3323 I'd watch everything up to season 7, along with The Big Dirty, Say Goodnight to The Bad Guys, Countdown to Liquor Day, and Don't Legalize It. Basically just everything Mike Clattenberg directed, after that it isn't too bad but Seasons 8-12 is definitely a downgrade.

@@joedent3323 The show peaks midway through the original run and remains decent throughout the original run. The quality drops off fast after the Netflix revived the series, and it gets tiring after that because the writing/creativity/kayfabe is basically spent, but it's still worth checking those out if you really get into the characters. The plots under Netflix are more ridiculous than funny and the creators are kinda just grubbing for money at that point, but the show is always one of a kind and these guys basically max out under their talent level which is an accomplishment.

@@KaiTakApproach cheers man! It is funny stuff. They feel a little like people I have known and met - usually, the biggest idiots that you would find at the pub! "Likeable Losers". What I like is: they seem to be all good guys - just totally misguided, poor, and stupid; and we all know/can appreciate that if you are "altering your state of consciousness" from the moment you wake? Then you are going to be in trouble by about 19.00hrs, tops! EsP. if what you are trying to do is of an illicit, dodgy nature. Precisely the activities you need to NOT draw attention to are things you definitely do NOT want to be drunk and high for. It all will end in a spectacular mess, as all their shows do!
I also like the fact that they are not acting too much, and this - combined with the Mockumentary idea and camerawork - adds a sense that these are real people/characters. It's a very interesting concept, is the "Mockumentary".
I will let you know how I get on with the series when it comes! The best scene I've seen so far is where Ricky arrives at the court's front steps, with an unceremonious skid and a thump, on the tiny go-kart. The idea of an oversized man turning up to a court date on a go-kart is very funny idea, just in theory!

I think I heard somewhere that their scenes are loosely scripted. They know the general plot but riff off eachother's shtick. They're goddamn genius actors.
