I don't think I would caulk between the floor and the trim.. This might affect the movement it needs to contract 🤔 I love the bed and the rug. Oh the way a newly out together room feels. Priceless. You guys did a wonderful job !

I did my entire house in Swiss Coffee. I also did the ceilings in Swiss Coffee matt. It catches the light differently and no one will believe that it is not white. It is much softer and the line at the ceiling where the different sheens meet, that is Never straight, looks flawless. Swiss Coffee also looks very different with changing light and against different colors. One color fits all. : ) I did, however, have Sherwin Williams tint their paint to match Behr's version of Swiss Coffee because I like their paint much better.

I just happened to see this video bc i bought the same rug and wanted to see your room. I noticed your husband has a tshirt on that says honor crew. I think it's to go along with someone who is a veteran on the honor flight. My sister was on that with my dad who is a Vietnam veteran. Her name was Stephanie. She was a volunteer to go with him and I definitely believe it was 2022. Such a small world. Beautiful bedroom by the way!

Put dishwashing liquid on your finger to smooth out the caulk with out making a mess

Inspiring makeover 😍 Question : what kind of bed box did you use for under the adjustable frames?
If and when you can, I would suggest you replace your windows with tilt out, double glass uva coated double pane windows. There is no need to go broke and buy wood windows or vinyl clad windows. You can use plain vinyl windows. They are cost-effective come in a variety of styles and are excellent at insulating your home. I love double hung windows because they are easier to clean since both panes can be tilted out for cleaning. Ps I don't sell them. I just love them.

Your room is absolutely beautiful!!! I’m actually wanting to change my burnt orange walls to the color you use now. The orange is beautiful with our dark antiques but after watching this I would love to try that color. Do you think dark furniture would look good with it? I think it would
I’m not Whitney, but I am an interior designer. I think the dark antique furniture would look really nice against the Swiss Coffee color Whitney used. However, bc ur used to a burnt orange color, it will prob be quite a big chg for u. I would suggest pulling a piece of furniture away from a wall and painting a large swatch before u completely go all in to make sure ur going to be ok with the chg. A swatch is much more easily covered with the burnt orange if u don’t like it rather than an entire wall or many walls. I often tell my clients to live with the swatch for a week or two in all different lighting before they go and chg their entire room or house. Hope this helps! 😊
@@loricawley54 Thanks so much for your advice. It’s so strange sometimes I absolutely love my color then other days I feel like I’m in a pumpkin. But we tried so many swatches when we changed colors like 10 years ago and it just goes so great with our antiques however we have so many antiques, very great quality antiques but there’s so so many lol. But it isn’t cluttered. I make it look really beautiful but sometimes I think as I’m getting older I just get sick of stuff and want to minimize but not my husband he absolutely would die lol
That's a great question! I love how we have a community that steps in and gives helpful responses.
From my perspective, changing the colors to an off-white color will provide more of a contrast to your furniture than the burnt orange. The thing I appreciate about interior design is that we all have different preferences and find different things calming. I would ask yourself what feeling and tone are you wanting in that room?

Hi Janice, The family tree was given to me by my mother-in-law. Such a sweet gift, however, I'm not aware of where it was completed.
I’m getting ready to buy this rug for my living room so I’m glad I was able to find your video! Question though.. does the color have yellowish in it? I’m trying to avoid yellow tones. It seems to be bright with the grayish color in jt. And do you think it would be okay if you were to carpet clean the whole thing?

Hi Britt. Great question! It does not have any yellow in it. It is a white cream color with a light gray design. You can definitely carpet clean the entire rug if wanted. :)

Do you have a link for your Carpet cleaner? Also, when you cleaned the carpet did the floor get wet underneath?

I do not find that it gets the floor underneath wet, however, I'm sure that also depends on how many passes you do with the cleaner. If you follow the directions I don't believe it should soak through.

Those indents are supposed to have wood framing them, but nowadays, builders are cheap and don't frame the interior part of windows.

Caulking the trim to the floor keeps the floor from being able to expand and contract. It could cause it to buckle. Not a good idea.
