Hi RICH, thanks a lot for This great video. It changes from the other training video and we like it ! Btw I just bought the tsp oversized valve 2 days ago from Slavens. We’ll see if it helps or if it is more a tuning gadget. I’m excited to see your next video with the install of the tsp head. Cheers
That’s how my 24 300 XC runs. Too rich. My flashed 22 TPI with injector relocation kit is so crisp down low. Instant throttle response. The TBI is a big disappointment in comparison. It rips up top but soon off the throttle its burble all round.
Hi Rich! I didnt even ride the TBI until I got the ERM... Are you getting lack of throttle response on these(slower to build revs on a blip)? I have started riding my TBI bike, and it just feels like there is a delay in power delivery even with the TSP head... I know part of it is adapting but on a carb bikes or the TPI bike there is none of that. Could just be my bike. Awesome video as always
Yeah the only fix is to go back to a 2017-2018 carbed bike. ktm is 2017-2019. I dont miss the fuel injection one bit. I want to ride not figit with some tuner thing for half a ride.
This is crazy. Already the most expensive machine out there yet you have to change brakes, fuelling system and potentially suspension parts for it just to get in line with Beta. I had Magura brakes on my 19 husky and I wasn’t a fan. I’ll take the Beta or Sherco every time now.
The TE/XCW models don't get the same maps as the XC model. We only get a single option, they have just released better versions of that same tune. There's no MX/Enduro/Trail options.
wich gearing setup do you suggest? I'm running 13 50 on ktm tbi 300 2025 and it's not bad, the chain is short and seems to have more traction than 12 47 with a chai more long and more stable on steep climb but less traction... what do you think? Thanx and best regards from Italy
What map are you riding in? The white or green? The K tune is the most recent and it has a richer green map, to my understanding. The white map is a richer version of the green map, according to tsp.
I tried a 24 xcw a few days ago and it seem it ran smoother than your te. Im wondering if your tps voltage could be a little off. It seem to happens sometime.
Agreed. My 24 te came from the factory with the TSP slightly low on voltage. Didn't realize it until I took it into the dealer. It runs perfectly now. No mods or anything
I'm on a 2019 TE300i (notoriously the worst running because it was the first year of TPI) I've been on the fence with TSP kits for a long time. I've gotten by well enough with idle adjustments and hard tuning in the throttle body but my cold starts are still horrible (even after a factory update and lots of testing). Does the TSP kit (ERM or not) improve or allow you to adjust your initial cold starting? Also asking as I am approaching a new bike in the next year or so.
Did the richer slide on the beta sorta help land you somewhere between a 38 and a 40 pilot jet, if that makes sense? I don’t think I could run a 40 at 1500’ 95 degree summer day, but I haven’t tried either lol.
I can't believe it needs an after market company to make it run crispper, when you pay 12k for a top bike you would of thought it would come out the factory running right....
The only difference between the white and green maps is, the power valve opens to 80% max in the white map where it opens 100% in the green. There isn’t any difference in fueling with a stock bike. So when you are riding low rpm ranges, you won’t feel a difference until you hit enough rpm/throttle to get the electronic power valve to open. I’m currently riding a ‘24 Husky TX300 for reference.
@@MathewsGuitarWorks Interesting, but even at real low RPM the white map feels like the overall throttle is less responsive. How do you know what you are saying is true, do you have any data? Not saying it's not true I'm just wondering what you're going by. Thanks Mathew.
I would rather play with the ERM module than with jetting. The new Beta 2024 owners have many issues with their jetting and failing plugs, so TBI is not that bad at all.
Where did you read that? Morgan got a few issue but he is at like 6000 feet and HE jetted his beta from his own thinking. So far, i got 100 hours on the same plug on my beta and still going strong. 40/necw/168 at sea level.
I changed the jetting on my Beta's FCR carb while listening the Mr. Larsen at a clinic a few weeks ago. I had never done it before and it was insanely easy. I dont hate fuel injection, but carbs are not rocket appliances.
They don’t run that bad stock, the stock maps are a compromise for emissions regulations. Pro’s and cons; I’ve never had a carb’d bike run perfect out of the crate, but of course they’re way cheaper to get dialed than EFI. The major pro to the EFI though is you can take it way up or down in altitude, or have a 30°F temp change and it will compensate for all of that automatically and way more consistently, where a carb will have you messing with it every time those things change to keep it consistent.
He had to redo the beta as well dummy. It's cheaper to do but don't act like those bikes are perfect out of the box which is what you're implying. Car two strokes come from the factory.
Installed the ERM+Medium comp head and took the bike out this weekend - brand new bike! definitely a lot more fun to ride, eager and snappy w/ great throttle response .... Super ez install.
I’m assuming that the map you selected was the Hard Enduro? You really didn’t mention that there are 3 different versions of maps. But I agree with everything you said. I installed the Hard Enduro map in my’23 TX 300. The results were exactly the same. ❤❤
@@onthethrottle7104 no resale issues in the uk, and if you grease the wiring from new you won’t have any issues, beta are easy to work on compared to the fuel injected bikes
@@MoorlandBeta Good to know about better resale in the UK. Here in the US it is difficult to sell a Beta. When I sell a KTM it goes right away and I get great money. As for the Beta wiring issue, it's either the Diode Pack or some other issue over and over. The wiring connectors are so cheap. I did upgrade the wiring harness and installed thicker wire to include an extra ground on this bike, we'll see. Stator went bad too. The way they convert AC to DC is strange as well. Anyway, yes they are really nice bikes but they need to figure out the wiring issue and upgrade the components. As for support, they do get back to you quickly. I'm just not sold on Beta.
4:20 - sounds like an old lawn mover:-) I have to say, the crisp sound of your Beta was TOP Notch to me❤
Love my beta they sound so crispy 😩
Well, Im not on the fence anymore! ERM is going in the cart! Thanks Rich! Great video, as always!
Sounds cold..have to say love my tpi 22 after pinit racing injector relocation kit and tune..man..smooth and lots of snap
I'm glad he tells us when he's being honest so we can be suspect the rest of the time.
Wow, that's cool! Once you flashed to TSP it immediately started to sound like my YZ with Lectron :) So way better than stock

that sound i've always described as "burbling".
exactly, too much fuel. keeps it running cooler for non expert riders

You can tune tps sensor on how much fuel the bike gets.....
I have a mid comp head with the tsp tune and it’s by far the best mod Ive done

Sherco it is
great stuff thanks
