You need to allow time for the top stone to heat up and close the door during preheat. Once the top stone is at 700 degrees this oven should preform much better.
Thanks. My Walmart has one for 1/2 price and I was tempted for ease of use, but I have an old ooni 3, and may just upgrade to a multi fuel ooni pro or something else later.
The Pro lineup is discontinued, but the Karu 16 or Karu 12G are both the kings of multi-fuel pizza ovens, depending on how big of an oven you want. You'll be really happy with the upgrade.
I have the blackstone pizza oven, I have it outdoors with cover. No rusting, follow blackstone recipes, use it multi-purpose for chicken, fish & desserts excellent meals every time! @ $97.00 u got a steal👍🏼
😂no one ever read the instruction manual as said pre heat oven to seven hundred degrees and when cooking the pizza keep the door closed to keep heat from escaping😅rotate pizza 90 degrees in 30 seconds till pizza is desire taste😊
I just put mine together, and I have it heating up now for the first time. I'm not happy about the quality, but it was on sale for 130 bucks. We will cook on it tonight and see how it does.
I have an old blackstone griddle, and while I love it, I also see many flaws with it. But, I have a newer portable blackstone and it's a nightmare. They clearly downgraded quality to get into Walmart. I've been disappointed in Blackstone. My local Walmart had one of these one deep discount, like $100 or less. I almost got it. Glad I didn't.
@palapizzaovens I'm in my garage now. 62 degrees. Front cover on, 20 lb bottle hooked up. I'm at 800 degrees in 25 mins. The stone is 880 with infrared thermometer.

Also, the instructions should mention if you don't get a spark, to Adjust the umm igniters by pushing them closer to the burners

The one I have says keep door off I have the stand up black stone
