    I've been commuting on the original EMOVE cruiser for years now but this last year has been the most enjoyable and stress free because my friend Ken installed fully hydraulic brakes on it for me. The difference is night and day. Those Zoom semi-hydraulic brakes were absolute garbage and needed constant attention. Kind of surprised to hear Paul talk them up so much. Nice to see they fixed the stem in the new version because that was a dangerous design weak spot which my friend Ken reinforced as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the dual motor EMOVE.

  • @Patriot36

    Great review as always, Paul. It looks gorgeous and I love the orange and white options. I still have my orange Cruiser S and I still love it, with zero issues to date. The additional 22lbs kinda puts this V2 into different territory from my perspective. It now has the footprint of a lot of dual motor, sport scooters, like the Mantis King GT, which to put it in perspective, is actually 4lbs lighter (ESG tested) than the Cruiser V2. Wow! No doubt the V2 will be successful but people with other dual motor sport scooters in the collection already, may pass. It will be interesting to see what the dual motor version of the V2 brings to the table. That might be a version I'd consider, which I suspect could stack on another 7-9lbs. My favorite part though, no nonsensical app needed to operate the Cruiser V2. Well done, Voro! :)

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  2 месяца назад +4

      Great point about the app. I've been struggling with the Dualtron app recently as you'll see next week. They have some affordable smaller scooters out now, but they have actually eliminated some of the buttons, making it so you can't really do anything but change modes 1,2,3 etc without the app and sometimes that can be a real problem. When the app is working correctly it's feature-rich though. Update on the weight. I unboxed the full production EMOVE Cruiser V2 today and it weighed in at 79.8lbs, so I'm updating our database to add the extra 1.6lbs -Paul

    Nice review. Your review of the pre-S cruiser is what convinced me to buy a Cruiser (2021 model). This new one is interesting, but only for the new suspension and better tires. I’m not sure that’s enough to convince me to trade my old one for this new one, although it’s tempting. I’ll wait for your review of the dual-motor version. That said, it occurred to me that I might be able to buy a pair of the new wheels/tires and install them on my current cruiser to get the self-sealing tires. I don’t know if that’s possible, but it’s worth looking at. Thanks for your review of the new Cruiser. I always enjoy your reviews. Keep ‘em coming!

Serious torque - I did a 25% grade hill at 30mph and it still had juice. Range is at least 40 miles in Race Mode, I bet Econo Mode would go further. Zero Start (no kicking off) and cruise control. Could outlast your old car if you never ride when wet and never let it get exposed to any rain, or maybe even that isn't enough. My 2023 Emove Cruiser S just had a short in its controller after riding over a bump. This caused the scooter to stop working and constantly pass current through the motor windings even with the scooter turned completely off from the key. The wheel acted like the output shaft of a stepper motor -resisting rotation because the coils were energized. By the time I was able to cary my scooter back home and open it up, the three main wires were all melted.
    Lucky for me, it's only $110 for a new controller and wiring harness as the wheel motor didn't sustain any damage upon testing for continuity between leads.
    My Emove cruiser S was used to commute from home to campus for fall and spring semester of college. I never let it sit out in anything more than a light rain, but the fasteners will rust regardless. Still, it is an incredible scooter and I don't think I would upgrade to the V2 for me since I really like the folding handle bars and lighter weight.
    Thank you for the video. I am envious of the screen display and the stiffer stem for providing more riding stability. I wish they would pot the sinwave controller to prevent damage via impacts and vibration. The roads are merciless here in Illinois.

      The funny thing about the Cruiser S is that for some reason I never really notice the stem wobble when riding, but you can feel it a lot when standing still. It’s probably because the S isn’t dual motor, so the front wheel is never switching from pulling to pushing like it will be on the V2 dual motor. It’s definitely a stronger scooter all around. -Paul

      These were a rare type of brake when the scooter came out and seem even more rare now. I forgot to add that another reason they work better than mechanical is that they push very evenly on both sides of the rotor, where most mechanical disc brakes are stationary on one side and push on the other side, so they flex the rotor a bit while you're braking. Semi hydraulics and hydraulics don't do that. There are a few mechanical disc brake set ups out there that push both brake pads at the same time though. NIU does that. -Paul

That 52v 30AH shows up in several other scooters as well and I'm wondering if that 40 miles of range is mostly the single motor combined with conservative controller settings? • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide

      It's true. I don't think you'd even need to put the RS5 Max into single motor mode. If you rode the RS5 Max side by side with the Cruiser V2 and kept acceleration and speed the same, the RS5 Max would probably go about as far. It has a slightly larger battery, but is also a bit heavier. It costs more, but of course has dual motors. -Paul

      I think what Paul said was spot on. I own both the previous version Cruiser S and the RX5 Max. At 15-17mph cruise 185-190-ish lb riders, mostly flat, minimal stop & go, they both do about 70ish miles. This is with the RX5 in dual motor mode most of the time. When my brother and I ride them together, generally matching speed, and we're not maxing out they range, they finish very close to the same voltage. Like Paul said 1560Wh compared to 1664Wh, with the RX5 Max weighing about 30lbs more. At steady cruise speed the dual motors cost you virtually nothing compared to single motor cruising. It's when you draw more current than a single motor alone can draw, that's when the dual motor mode loses to single motor, were range is concerned. Obviously it will accelerate slower and go up hills slower in single motor but you will ride further in single. If you ride in dual motor mode and never exceed the current draw of a single motor, range is (about) the same as single motor mode.

    I love your videos very informative And entertaining, I was looking into getting at E scooter and I watched so many of your videos. I came to the conclusion that I would get the Solar P 13.0. I ordered it from solar USA. I also ordered it with a saddle because I recently got into an accident and I'm not able to properly stand up on the scooter so I would have to sit down for another 3 months. I ordered the scooter 7/3/2024. it came within a A week and a 1/2 which was perfectly fine. They did not send my saddle. I reached out to them and they told me that they were out of stock, And that they would send me 1 when they get 1 instant in stock, but they didn't know when that would be. I messaged them back about 3 weeks later inquiring about my saddle, Surely they would have had it by now, Nope still didn't have it but they gave me an estimated day of the 25th of July, The 25th came and no saddle, I reached out to them they said that they hadn't got it in yet. Then I told them that I wanted a full refund, And wallah the next day they said they got a saddle in.. I asked for a compensation and expedited shipping. They said that they would honor that. Here it is the 2nd of August, Still no saddle. I also tried to give a review, it was posted and then the next day it was taken down.. I tried to give another review that was posted and then taken down within the next day.. I saw another person review the same exact experience that I had, He didn't get his Saddle either. And then about 3 late days later his review vanished.. It seems like they're only keeping the good reviews and deleting all the bad ones.. What's the point of reviews If they're not going to be transparent and let people know exactly their experience.. Anyway I just wanted to put that out there, I don't know if you would want to reach out to them and say something , Because your channel is obviously an influence.. Like I said. I love your channel and it's informative and entertaining. Not anybody's fault on this side of the fence, but I know you guys have influence so maybe you can reach out to them..Thank you.keep up the good work!

    As an owner of the emove cruiser S, I absolutely love the new styling and features of the V2. It's a great commuter scooter. They updated most of the features,the new screen looks great, new grips, new breaks, they still kept the wide deck which I personally love, its like cruising on a street surf board when you're on this thing.
    Edit: im really pumped to see the capabilities once they add the dual motors version.

    I've put over 500 miles on my original emove cruiser and like the new sinewave controller that I upgraded it with. This new version being over 70 Ibs is a big mistake in my opinion. As its not easy now to carry it or put in a car. 50 LBs + should be the ideal weight for this.

    Same range, same top speed. But almost 20lbs heavier than before and it doesn't fold as compact as the old one. Gone are the distinctive Cruiser looks and now it just looks like any other generic scooter on the market. I was really looking forward to them keeping the same formula but improving the build quality. This isn't it. Paul, we know Emove takes your input seriously. Please tell Emove that not everyone wants to lift a 75lb scooter into a trunk or up some stairs. The market is saturated with long range scooters but the Cruiser was THE lightest scooter with 62mi range. It now lost it's main selling point. Sorry Emove, there are better 75lb scooters out there. 💔

    I have a scooter recommendation. Has Electric Scooter Guide ever tested the Easybike G16? It's made in Tel Aviv Israil, and it boasts two HUGE wheels meant for both smooth pavement and off-roading. Both the front and rear wheels are an impressive 16" in diameter. It has a top speed of 20mph and goes roughly 24miles on a single charge. According to the website, it can easily climb an uphill grade of approximately 26.7. The best part, it has suspension that's akin to a regular bike.

    Damn, while some of the upgrades are welcome I have to say as an original cruiser rider i'm pretty disappointed. They basically took away 2 of the main reasons I liked the cruiser in the first place. By adding 10kg in weight and removing the folding handlebars they essentially made this a much harder sell given the competition that is available. Also the fact they are still using the very poor xtech x100 brakes which are notoriously unreliable over time is another disappointment. And while the stem and display and light improvements are great, these things should have already been added years ago. Was hoping they would have actually refined the overall design and components more instead of just adding huge amounts of bulk and essentially making it far less portable and practical for urban riding.

      if you order brakes from china - it’s gonna be cheaper to just swap brakes for new ones than to change brake pads. you can always opt for premium hydraulic brakes, but they require bleeding and frequent brake-pads changing, comparing to any hybrid calipers. i use my 2021 cruiser with sinewave controller daily for work, 15-30 miles per day. i swap brake calipers once every 9 months, with occasional pad change throughout the year.

I assume the battery is the same, so if you rode side by side with this one at the same speed and acceleration, the range would be the same. Having more available output power usually means using more available power though, so the typical rider taking advantage of the dual motor power will probably get something in the low to mid 30's. Top speed is unknown, but we'll definitely test it. Top speed should be north of 40mph though, based on output power. -Paul

    Very similar to nami on the handlebars the switches and horn. Its almost like a mix n match of all the Chinese parts thrown together on a number of scooters. Same parts new paint.

    I’ve got an Emove touring and the first month of usage and there were so many issues and voromotors tried to charge me $450 for repairs. Since then it’s been alright except for having to change the front tire. I’m scared of voromotors now. The customer service is rough.

      Did you buy it new or used. Why wouldn't the repairs be covered under warranty? -Paul

    • @davidheart02
      @davidheart02 2 месяца назад

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide They claimed there was water damage and rust. The only issue is that I only rode in very very minimal mist, (almost no rain) and I had it for a less than a month. On top of that, they claimed the motor cracked and said that resulted from user damage but theres no way to distinguish between potential mishandling from before they gave it to me or if it is actually my fault. That should have been under warranty because cracking in less than a month is crazy. I've also read stories of similar situations where Voromotors says the damage is because of the owner just so that they don't have to cover repairs.

    so they made the handlebars unnecesarily wider but took away the folding mechanism? I do no like that at all, that's really bad for portability
