Bro, the video production/quality is FANTASTIC! I'm not even working on this car, and i'm in absolute awe of how well this is recorded/edited! well done!!!!
Fantastic video! Was able to do it all myself, changed both gaskets, and it fixed the issue! The tensioner bolt at 2:54 was a pain to get to. Had to use a smaller ratchet and thinner socket since my impact socket and pro flex ratchet wouldn't fit in the space. Thanks, fellas!
a tip @8:27 if you take oil out be sure to put it back in, meaning you oil the seal and add it back into the part, just a little. Thanks for sharing, my 05 Accord EX with 280k is doing exactly what you describe.
This was FANTASTIC! - Kids car started acting up on his way home from college for a weekend, kicking the P2646 code and thanks to this video we were able to fix the issue for $40 replacing both screens and the oil change. THANK YOU!!!
I’ve got the same issue. I got a rusted out lx with 226k miles but I need it for a while since I’m only 16 and can’t afford a truck for work yet. Thank you!
Nice video covering the repair. Mine had the same issue yesterday (@ 210k miles) and luckily happened 1 freeway exit away from home. All fixed up now - thanks Phil!
Great video! Here's a tip, if you disconnect your battery at the beginning of the repair (as you should) the codes will clear by the time you reconnect the battery. 👍
Exelent video! You covered everything with great deatal, great camera work and easy to understand. I did have a problem that viewers should be aware of. I have a 2006 Accord 2.4 and their is a heat shield with two wire clamps connected to it. I makes it more difficult to remove. Beware and don't break a wire like I did trying to get them off. It was real fun soldering wires between the engine and firewall! Thank goodness it's not a v6.
Would have never thought of this!! My TSX has been doing the same thing and I've even replaced the entire vtec solenoid unit without much luck, I never thought about the front screen filter!🤦♂️
The production and editing on this video is top notch man definitely didn’t see it coming from such a small channel but keep up the good work man you’re going to big places. And I’m about to change my Vtec solenoid bc my car still tweaking after I changed ALL of the gaskets even changed the vvt solenoid that goes in under the camshaft gears and I still get that code 🤦♂️hopefully yours stays all good tho man!
Oh man, these are the comments we just love to hear, and hopefully our quality just keeps getting better and better, it feels good knowing other people think we're on the right track
Is this the same for the 2004 Honda Accord ex V6 I think I’m going threw the same thing, felt like my transmission slip and my rpm gauge was revving high plus no check light on my dash, change my transmission solenoid and fluid and now it’s feels like it’s in limp mode a certain times when I’m driving it will just pop out of no were, my car will be driving fine for a moment and then I probably hit 30-35 and it will rev high rpm
i ran over a puddle yesterday I tried to swerve but it was to late my 05 accord 3.0 v6 sedan started misfiring the 4th gear feels like it slips when I press the gas the rpms go up from 2 to like 5 rpm in 1 second (like if I was reving it in park) after it slips I usually let go of the gas or pull over it doesn’t drive until acouple seconds later or I’ll have to pull over and turn off the car if that happens while breaking the motor also feels like it jumps I checked the oil there’s no way that water got in the motor because my air filter is on the other side any insight man? I was so happy with my car I just got it 😭 (no check engine light)
A great beautifully made AND Filmed) Video!... You did an excellent job, showing clear step by step instructions with great lighting and detail... Hoping you will have more like this on the 7th. Generation Honda Accord. -- Thank you and best wishes.
Nice work! With those forearms, I’d guess it’s a breeze for you to issue a tightly-controlled, ribbon of oil, with one-hand into the car, from a 72 quart jug, while with the other hand is thumb-wrestling Chuck Norris for a month (without food or air ). -“hee hee, yeah, and but like in the rain at the same time too also, cuz it’s raining on them two also (and the massive forearms as well…”)
My Honda Sedan 2003 stop moving while on driving gear, but if i off and park the car for some minutes then on it put on drive D it will start moving and the gear will change smoothly then later it will free from the gear again by him self. ( It takes some second before it enter the gear, change smoothly but it stopped by moving while on gear by himself) please i need help
Iv replaced the valve twice and done two oil changes in 100 miles and after the motor warms up it still goes into limp mode with this code. Any ideas? Mines a 2005 with 213K miles. Just bought it and drove it a few hundred miles before the issue surfaced.
It's possible that the oil pump you have isn't pumping oil well enough anymore and that's why you have the code. We didn't have a full on limp mode though, so that's totally a guess, and your problem could be unrelated to what we had.
@@VeryGoodGarage I wonder if there’s a bypass for the oil sensor so I can just drive it until it dies… it’s a secondary vehicle so I’d rather just drive it
Brake cleaner is basically just alcohol/acetone. It's strong, so I wouldn't just spray things like plastic directly, but if it gets around a bit from spraying it's probably fine imo
Great, thanks for the video ! Gonna do the same thing this weekend, my CRV is throwing a P2646 I've already ordered a new vtec solenoid and will do an oil change tho
It might go away on its on, ours did, but you can always to try to clear it with a code scanner, most local auto part stores will have one you can use for free!
Is it possible for you guys to make a video on pulling the head off and cleaning out sludge? Idk anything about cars and this video was very helpful but my car months later is doing the same thing and again I did the everything the same way and still bucking. Thank you
You have to be careful with that brake cleaner, it takes off paint , really harsh stuff. I use carb cleaner, dries quick & cleans good, especially oil debris & residue. This was just for people who haven't had much experience with brake cleaner. Had a mechanic spray on brake cleaner to clean valve covers , stripped off paint.
My 2010 EXL V6 coupe looses electrical power for few brief seconds and bucks during heavy acceleration but then jumps back on and keeps going the dash flashes has anyone else experienced this and what could be the problem
Am using 2004 honda Accord 3.0 v6 My problem is whn i kick full acceleration rip goes high and rpm is cutting off.. not shifting to next gear .but when i drive normally all gears are shifting normal.. only in full throttle rpm is cutting and not shifting anyone knw why?
Hi I did it even change transmission oil change the VTEC Gasquet cleaned the 2 solenoids but the problem still continued. Why? Pls help me out text me in my DM cause I need an experience mechanic like you pls help me
I’m having the same issue. I changed my oil and oil filter(5/20highmileage) added seafoam for extra reassurance. Replaced the vtec solenoid, replaced the vvt solenoid and the filter screen behind the power stearing. Idk what to do now
@@blatrielle the vvt solenoid and the one next to it. I had one someone fuck with and ripped out one of the wires, and it was hard to tell. I grabbed pigtails at the local pick and pull. I also had a vvt solenoid on a brand fucking new assembly from napa be worse than he bad one on the car. What rpm does it happen at
So big update here. I removed the oil pressure switch from the aftermarket vtec assembly and installed the oil pressure switch from the original assembly and it fuckin worked. Drive the piss out of it to be sure but so far so good.
Maybe you should upload a video all about how to use a can of "break" clean. Can I take all the breaks that I want when in possession of a break clean can? I figured since you've got the knowledge, you'd be the one to ask. Brake clean idiot. Take some lessons on spelling perhaps

you replaced with oem?

Is it the same way for the 2004 Honda Accord ex v6
How much roughly does it cost to replace the solenoid ?

Anywhere from $50-$70 from an auto parts store, but if you wanna risk a part from Amazon they can be as cheap as $35 amzn.to/33gvZmx
