I have serious tarp envy mate. Love that setup. Malham is stunning and although a bit chilly, I think you got perfect conditions. Another awesome video mate….getting better and better.
why am i not surprised mate 😉😂 really enjoyed using that set up can see me using it a lot this year..cracking area up there deffo gonna explore some more up there tfw mate..
Another great one. Malham is one of our favourites. Been going there 55 yrs, wife 65 yrs, although she younger than me. She from Bradford so went from school. Me from North Lincs
Great video Andy, excellent quality and yes I do like the look of that Tarp and Bivy. You have just reminded me of a cycle tour of the Dales I did with my daughter and the lad next door, they were 12 years old and went up on the train. We sat on top of Malham cove and watched the sun set. Brilliant, I had forgot about that trip. Thanks Andy. ✌👍
Stunning spot for a night out. We almost lost our corgi between the cracks on the top pavement when I was a youth wandering them paths. Holds precious in my memories. Thanks for taking me back.
Hi Andrew your last shot stood looking out over to Skipton and Colne is spectacular. I also see if I'm not mistaken the big end of pendle hill witch county another place that vew know. Keep it under your hat though. Great vlog Ade GWA
It's beautiful there Andy. I love the history bits. You were obviously quite cosy, but blimey, it did look a bit exposed, with just the tarp. Nice weather for you, though.
Pagans love the Dales. Many are the times I've seen corn dolls hanging from trees & pentagrams set out in rocks. Man meets nature & they get along. It has a vibe like nowhere else. Nice tip towards the use of liquid iodine for ticks. I always carry a small bottle with an eye dropper. In 40 years, I've never got ill with them.
Only the hardy opt for a tarp in freezing weather like that! I slept out in a similar temperature 2 weekends ago but I had the luxury of a tent. Thanks for sharing.
Inspiring. It would be really interesting to know what you find works best wrt the direction you pitch this tarp vs. the wind. Contrary to a tent I am imagining that you might pitch it side on to the wind to provide some wind shelter?
Brilliant video Andy, stunning area. Love all the history you mention whilst out on your trips, really interesting. New setup looks the business too👍🏻 Cheers, atb. Mark
Keep doing what you’re doing Andy as you’re an inspiration. 😀 This cold snap we’ve had needs to go now - better weather is on the way! I like those hazy, May mornings when the colour is out and the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air.
Loving the rambling, even hubby kept popping over to my pc for a look see. Especially enjoy the geological info. And absolutely, who could blame people for wanting to spend time somewhere so beautiful. That shooting star shot was worth the cold night alone... Thanks for sharing, cheers from "down under". 😁
In Total Expensive set up :) But..... I am big fan of RAB products...... its perfect for me.All Stuff from clothes i get,fit perfectly....So happy and comfortable.....
Great video and incredible piece of geological history. Looking back at that face and imagining a giant waterfall coming over the top. I've got a siltarp (not the wing though) but I've been too afraid to try it against the winds (still late cyclone season here in New Zealand) so only really used it in woodland. Do you reckon it will take some moderate wind in that A configuration? Looks pretty stable and the wings are quite interesting.
yeah my thoughts exactly what a sight that would have been, just thinking back to those times in general how the landscape would have looked fascinates me..the design of the tarp is a good design to shed wind so i would be confident in using it in some higher winds tfw.
Stunning location that Andy, a place high on the list for a nosey. Mint set up that, perfect mate, RAB deffo up there with the best like 👍 Nice photography as always mate, tfs Dave 👍
I loved that. Thanks for taking the time to research the area and share it with us. Amazing photography, you should share more of your images in your videos. Great videography too.
Hi Andrew. Cracking vid. I did the same walk you did, some years ago. Cracking location. When i went it was quiet. It’s a pain in the arse when its busy! Always time for a nice Caspar 👍 . Take care. Robert
Great bivy camp that was My you had some gear on in the bivy, I can’t sleep dressed up hence I use the Rab ascent 1100 bag and I only need a shirt and socks on, manage down to minus 5 like that. Yorkshire is mint with cracking spots but a bit busy. Will sub and watch some back catalogue
i didn't wear the clothes for sleeping in id got up & dressed for the filming bit..i usually just wear thermals in the bag & a midlayer if necessary..tfw.
@@AndrewBeavers just getting my thermals on as I read this, I see you are dressed as you get in and out filming lol should have thought, been a hard week mind not on it Thanks and keep em coming
Lovely video of your trip again. Had our first ever trip to the Yorkshire Dales last year. The whole place is stunning. Goredale Scar and Malham Cove are just incredible. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for the history/geology lesson.😀
You could spend the rest of your life exploring the 'dales' and only scratch the surface so looking forward to you getting out there in the future(not discounting north-yorks moors area, also another on your list im guessing).........as always Andy you have done your homework on the area you visit(hats off to you for that)......smart set-up there Andy the tarp looked good, that area is a no-go for me in summer as you eluded to in your summing-up it gets crowded..........no doubt you will find more remote spots in future(takes nowt away from a fine video and camp)........used to watch a guy a few year back(doesnt make may vids these days).....who explored the dales for a while ''plodders lost'' he might be worth a watch for a few ideas for more remote pitching spots although he might not be your 'cup-of-tea' if you know what I mean...........anyway great vid Andrew enjoyed it................ATB........Stu....👍👌.
thanks stu yeah ive walked a lot of yorkshire dales over years but not camped a lot up there..ill be rectifying that somewhat..ill have a look for plodders lost & see what content hes all about.tfw.
Great vid and pics, interesting set up that. I reckon that area's one of my top 5 places of all time, got a proper soft spot for it, got some great memories through the years. Bet the Neutrino was welcomed that night 🥶😁 TFS David
I've been especially looking forward to this one Andy, I just love the Dales. That route you did is a real favourite of ours.....even the kids like it 😉! Malham is such a special place. I know it gets packed sometimes but that's because it is so nice. Some nice views down to Pendle too 🎃. And of course I enjoyed the geology bits. Top notch vid pal. ATB, Chris
cheers Chris ayy i bet you did i actually thought about you when i was going through that stuff & thought you'd do a cracking job of explaining it,certainly a lot better than i did..beautiful area up there & i intend to do some more up there..you can't blame folk for visiting it's such a stunning area.tfw mate..
I'm just over an hour away and I love Malham as it's fantastic walking country, but my word it gets way too busy these days. Feel like I'm in Leeds city centre at times, but I suppose that's to be expected when it's so close to an overpopulated region like West Yorkshire. Fantastic scenery to wake up to in the morning though, and your setup seemed to work pretty well.
yeah that the issue with it..ive been there midsummer & its horrendously busy but you cant blame folk for wanting to visit such a wonderful place..tfw.
I’ve just received this tarp in error (supposed to be the SilTarp2!). Considering to keep it or not. How would it fair with 2 people and how would it be getting changed from saturated clothes into dry spare clothing, I realise headroom is low, and likely to be lower if it’s raining. Cheers.
i reckon itd be a struggle for two people so the 2 man would be better..with it being low obviously its not as easy to change under there as it would be a tent but i intend to add some line & line locs to the three peg points down each side so i can raise the tarp to suit.tfw.
Superb that Andy. Some lovely shots on the wall in with the focussed pulled. Setup looked nice too. Winter is definitely biting back. What a shot that was with the shooting star too. Superb. Nice area round there, had a few camps there myself. Good work as always. TFS. ATB, Craig
cheers craig ayy i never saw the shooting star till i checked the baxk of camera, talk about timing as it was only a 6 second exposure..beautiful area up there & i intend to get up there a lot more.tfw mate.

Yep! Enjoyed your geological and history ramblings, Andy!👍 I have just discovered the delights of a tarp and have a Silwing too. I haven't got a bivvy bag yet and would be interested in your thoughts on the Rab Alpine. Top video as always 👍👍
