The fairy town was so cute. I was hoping for Sherpie to knock on the door of one of the tiny houses and say "I love you" to a nice fairy with cookies. 😊
Well, now I want a fairy village in my yard. First step: get a yard. Oh, and don’t feel too bad about not noticing the mirror button on the van. I I had my microwave for over a year before I realized there was a protective sticker on the door. It started coming away from the numbers in the first few months but I just thought it was made poorly. 🤦🏼♀️
I feel really bad now...had my cooker for 27 years.
Don't to this day know how to use the timer.

York is full of history when horses and dogs ruled the world with Romans and Vikings
loved the evening scenes of York! Especially Sherpa shouting hello in the dark!
The walk gave me chills. If a place is haunted, York has to be in top 3 after Edinburgh.

Just a year? My friend had had her car for 12 years when we befriended eachother. First time she gave me a ride, she complained over that the windshield always fogged up, so I leaned forward and changed the fan setting to blow upwards. Her face was amazing and she burst out laughing, because she didn't know you could do that.
Took me a few years before I learned of the night vision option of the rearview mirror.

Oh Sherpa, envy your fan who got to meet you in person. The red van is famous too. Really loved the fairy trail! Was a bit worried, the two of you wandering at night, but will admit the lights and window Christmas displays wouldn't have had the same effect. Waiting patiently for a day time tour from Sherpa's tours. ( Oh and got wonderful news from Amazon that preordered book status has been updated. Something to look forward to!!) 😊💙💙
Wow! As someone who lives in the center of York (you walked past my house in the video), I have never seen it so quiet - even at night!
York's an amazing place, but the locals probably aren't as friendly as you're used to - we deal with so many tourists all the time that we tend to just keep to ourselves as much as we can.
I hope you and Sherpa enjoyed the trip and that you got to see some of the city in the day time too.

I have visited many time's, I think it's one of my favourite places in England 🇬🇧
I first visited there about 40 years ago, I must admit it's certainly changed in atmosphere it could as you say be the tourist but am so pleased to see to this day that nothing has really changed in structure.
Although it would have been nice to see Vikins and wench's about 😄😆😄😆
It really is a beautiful place.

Well, that was kinda festive & spooky at the same time wasn't it? Sherpa seemed rather guarded. Maybe a different atmosphere in the daytime. The fairytown was neat though. Always a cool adventure with you two.
York is a city that feels old all the time. It's like stepping back I. Time and I've never felt this vibe anywhere else. It's a unique place.

Yes, he seemed out of his comfort zone, dogs are very intuitive. It was lovely to see York at night with the shop windows lit up but those narrow lanes were very dark and spooky with not many people around. Although Sherpa is a large dog he is a big softy, take care Jamie with where you walk at night you can never be too careful.
I had the exact same feeling! Very cool but also kind of creepy. Possibly because it wasn’t well lit and kind of empty but I kept expecting to see Jack the Ripper or something. Can’t wait to see it in daylight.
York got they Christmas trees and lights and decs up now

The Wet streets and paths look so amazing! I know many tele shows and movies intentionally wet down the streets to try achieve the same effects (Miami Vice comes to mind.) So cool! Now Sherp just needs a Viking helmet so he can look like the conquering hero that he is!!
You should get some stones, put Sherpa was here, (with the date on it) and leave it somewhere for people to see it.

😍awe sweet Sherpa only wanted to play with the black & white pup, but the pup wasn't having it. What time did the town shut down? Here state side I know of 2 towns that start to shut down at 9pm. Sherpa is excellent security for a night time wonder. I love the miniature village, and butterfly display. Nice shot of the rainbow. Lovely wander. Sherpa keep up the good work protecting Jamie. Batdog taught you well.

Having visited York quite a few time's, the first time I felt I was in a different world.
Thought some Vikings would jump out from somewhere, it's a beautiful atmosphere.
It really is a stunning city.

I only know York from Downton Abbey; supposedly it was the city closest to the fictional estate, and the characters always talked about going there. It was nice to see the real York; you showed some fabulous shops with high-quality goods, unlike the cheap cr@p from China you find in suburban/rural America. If I ever make it there, I'll be sure I have plenty of money for a shopping spree! That was quite a long walk you took; I bet you both slept like logs when you finally got to bed! Looking forward to the next installment.

Love The Shambles! There’s an artist in Darlington that does wonderful watercolor renditions. I have to say that people there certainly aren’t the friendliest, I probably shouldn’t have said that but only my opinion. I’m so used to seeing everyone making such a fuss over our beautiful Sherpa. I know the Sandringham estate has a Christmas fairy trail. Did you intend a pun when you said "That's a good sign" when you saw the 'food here' sign? 😁 Seeing that bike made me laugh. I love motorbikes & I've always threatened my niece & nephew that I'm going to get a sidecar for them to ride in, with goggles & one of those flying hat things that they would absolutely have to wear! I can imagine doing the same to Sherpa - the look of embarrassed dismay on his face!
A sidecar would be wonderful for this adventurous duo!!! Although, Jamie may feel embarrassed while Sherpa takes the driver seat. The goggles and floppy hat would be iconic! 👍🏼🇺🇸

Oh wow! That was a beautiful rainbow 🌈. Leaving for my Thanksgiving road trip on Wed.. Takes about 7&1/2 hrs to get to my sister's home in Texas. It's interstate most of the way which is so boring. Your trip looks much more interesting.

My daughter went to York St John's University and her graduation was in York Minster. What an amazing day it was! York is my favourite city.
And we've just had our latest graduations there this last week. Great to be back after missing last year.

Sherpa was looking so tired in the van 😀. I have been to the shopping centre in Dec 2019, I was chasing the snow like Sherpa too😀. It was great but very little disappointment with the famous Little Shambles 😀💜💜🐕
In the Middle Ages the Shambles was the place where the butchers had their shops.
