Welcome to Whitby. The thing you passed at the beginning of the video was Hole of Horcum. Decent place to wander around.
The railroad you saw is (mostly) for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. It mainly runs historic steam locomotives. Of note, Goathland Station was used as the Hogsmede Station for the Harry Potter movies.
For the Dracula connection, in the novel by Dram Stoker, Dracula arrives to England in Whitby and goes up the 199 steps. So the town kinda goes all in on that, and has two 'Goth Weekends"
Oh wow thankyou for that information! I wonder when the goth weekends are..
@@SherpasDay Usually around Halloween weekend, and then a weekend in late April.
Wow what an amazing looking place will have to venture there next year 🤗🤗
@@SherpasDay would love to see that.. and Hogsmeade station..next time
So cool...
Thanks Colodie!
A perfect day to see it on, so blue!
Always a good day seeing you guys👍
@@markusmichaelsen7359 you have real issues.
when will key go on an adventure....
I suggest you publish a calendar of Sherpa posing at your various destinations, with a brief description of each. So many interesting places.
'Bat dog' is going to be SO jealous when he finds out that Sherpa went to one of Dracula's castle's. Thanks for the tour. Looking forward to part two. 😀
Haha I'm sure he and Dracula are school buddy's or something
Bat Dog learned from the BEST! LOL!
No matter how many times I watch his videos , I still want to scream “ you’re on the wrong side of the road!”
"Am I boring you?" He isn't bored, he is looking for chicken balls hahaha
Haha he always is 😂
You have given Sherpa the best life, you're both very blessed to have each other. ❤️ Sherpa ❤️
Aw thankyou Marni ☺
It’s striking now, but must have been very impressive in it’s time, a vision from miles around. Love Sherp’s posing, he compliments everywhere, think Bat Dog may have been impressed too, with the Dracula connection
I'd loved to have seen it in its day 😲
Watching on December 14, 2024 10:00 pm, remembering Sherpa, and supporting Jamie. Lovely place to walk around, and neat to see so many vans! Two yellow, two red, a black one, and a couple of RV's. The castle was so nice, and Sherpy has become as seasoned professional model. There must be some lovely photos of him in front of all these memorable places. I love it when Sherpy would give out his howls, letting the other dogs know who was boss. And, of course, to let the humans know that His Lordship was approaching... Sherpy did so well, especially in the museum, and enjoyed the first half of his tour. Rest In Peace sweet Sherpa- watch over Jamie until you two are reunited at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🌈🌈
Jamie, it’s great that you are able to take Sherpa into the Abbey’s and museums. The pictures of Sherpa in front of all the places are beautiful.
Can’t wait to see part 2!!
Have a great week!! 🐕🦺💙
What a fantastic blue sky with the Sun beaming through the windows! Quiet Sherpa is so considerate.
Whitby is one of my favourite places and i am a big Dracula fan as well. The Abbey is stunning sitting high upon the hill. Its nice and scary at night up there 😱 Whitby has become a popular place for Goths to visit. 🧛♂️
I bet night time is amazing... the walls were so low I'm surprised people don't just hop over at night
Jamie, you & Sherpa are really living! I truly appreciate you sharing your travel adventures, it makes me smile & laugh when Sherpa howls & it echos😂🤗🐺🧔coffee ☕🥰
Ha aw thankyou Tracy ☺
Sherpa could get noted in Gunniesse book records as most places visited by husky malamute
Haha well let's keep going then ha 😆
Jamie, what a lovely piece of filming, bright sunshine and blue skies and so much history to look at, you do our country proud. My friend and her husband had a long weekend in Whitby earlier this year, they said it was a lovely town and full of history. To think that when Mary Shelley started writing Dracula in the early 1800s most of those ruins you've filmed would have been entire buildings out on the Moors. They're now over 200 years old but they must have been very foreboding in the 1800s and trigerred her imagination. They were lovely to see, but a bit spooky. I'm glad I didn't have to live in the 1800s, they must have been very tough times. Thanks to Sherpa also for giving us wonderful entertainment, he always makes us smile.
The people who settled my region of Canada came from that area. Towns (some of which are now cities) here include York, Scarborough, Pickering, Whitby, and Durham Region. We have a Whitby Yacht Club too, which has reciprocal arrangements with its British equivalent.
Oh wow really 😲💙
Canada is amazing they have a lot of English names.
I have a friend who lives in London 🇨🇦
I find it confusing sometimes when he mentions different area's in Canada.⚘⚘
@@SherpasDay There's a Scarborough in Tobago too!
That Dracula castle was awesome! Thank you for another great video Sherpa and Jamie! Have a beautiful rest of your day ❤️🥰🐾🐕🐾
Thank you too Sandy ☺
My friend took a selfie at Whitby abbey last year and when she looks at the photo, there’s a strange hooded figure standing in the background.
Whitby is a cool place, especially during goth weekend when everyone gets dressed up there. 🙂
Omg really 😲 , that would be amazing to see.. When's goth weekend?
@@SherpasDay it’s usually the closest weekend to Halloween I think
I like it when sherpa is closed up so beautiful dog
Lord Sherpa and his faithful driver Jamie have moved into vampire killing. And while killing vampires you go straight to the top guy
😂😂
You picked a beautiful day to share this amazing place with us. Am always in seeing these incredible pieces of history. Imagine building back then, no computer drafted plans, no huge machines to lift and haul, yet built and still standing. Sherpa, know you prefer meeting the hoomans, thank you for your patience while Dad shares the history part. Sherpa tours, the best guide channel!😊💙💙
Aw thankyou Christy.. it was so so gorgeous 😍
I just love the way Sherpa sits for his pictures
Love watching your videos.Greetings from Edmonton 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 🍁
He's such a good boy isn't he 😆
He is absolutely wonderful and you are a wonderful daddy.
Tbh, Jamie, I really look forward to my Sunday visits from you and Lord Sherpa. Thank you for all you do for all Sherpas’s friends from around the world! 🌎 Cheers! xx Colorado, US

Sherpa is so photogenic.
Hes our ambassador to all these historic buildings.
Xx
Jamie: "Ssshhh!!"😱
Sherpa: Dad,I'm singing with the ghost choir here,& they're saying pipe down, you're making a racket!😂👻
😂😂
Man each block in those arches hand chiseled with hand forged iron tools. Breathtaking even in decay! Thanks for having along as always!
Perfect place for Sherpa, it has people coming and going for him to say hello to and get pets. Absolutely loved this place! I love history and preserving history like they're doing.
You and Sherpa are fantastic Jamie that’s a compliment as a friendship present for you 😁
Aw thankyou Peter you are too buddy
Just to say I remember you commenting , good to see you , don't comment , always late , Peter lol just hi , Sherp is the Boi 🐶
He is such a very lucky dog that you two go to so many interesting places!
Sherpa and key would love it right now it’s snowing we’re I live right now
Oh mannnn 😭
Holy dooley 4 degs That is Arctic. Specially to one who lives in the tropics. When the temps plummet to 25 degs. we don our winter woolies. Lovely to see Sherpa out and about. Much love to you both Jamie.
Looked like the beginning of an old horror film when you looked over that wall .brilliant mate ...the abbey looked really great from a distance 👍👍👍👍
I'd love to explore at night 🦇
@@SherpasDay absolutely. Bring a fresh change of pants though 😁😁😁
Whitby is fantastic. And I am lucky been there twice. Love the Abbey, but not the steps. lol
Looking forward see next part. Greetings from snowy Sweden. ❄🤍🤍🤍🤍❄
Omg I want to visit snowy Sweden now 😂
@@SherpasDay Sherpa and you are welcome. Winter time I can recommend north Sweden with their Northern Light.
Sherpa is such a good boy! I can’t believe he stayed still that long to get that great shot of him in the front of the Abbey!
Nice sunny day to explore 🐺😄😘💙
Jamie, I'm so glad you like exploring and that you take all of us along with you! I like to explore also, but I'm not able to any more so I explore through you and Sherpa!
I love it when he talks to you he really looks like he's talking to you! It's absolutely adorable!! Love you Sherpa! 😘😘

Good morning sherpa and Jamie and sister Sarah and I love you so much sherpa and he is so cute and so adorable and smart and I'm sending kisses 😘 to sherpa
Morning ☺
You guys have a lovely day
Thank you for sharing this longer version of your wander with Sherpa. It is a delight for us to see what you saw, and to spend time with you and your wonderfully fuzzy friend!
Thankyou Eric ☺💙
The stonework of the Abbey is amazing! I feel for the workers that literally slaved away building this place!
Jamie, I love the places you take us they are so amazing never know where you and Sherpa are going to take us next but we are never disappointed Thanks
Aw thankyou Audia ☺
@@SherpasDay your welcome
What an epic looking Abbey! Stunning!
Gorgeous isn't it Trev 😍
@@SherpasDay Incredible!
Sherpa in the doorway with the Abbey behind him was a brilliant shoypt.b that would be the best mouse pad ever!
What a beautiful old abbey! Must have been stunning when it was intact. Does Batdog know about this place? It must have zombies at night! LOL Picked up my Sherpa book today. What a precious little story, and the drawings are beautiful. Looking forward to the next installment of this adventure.
Sherpa is well travelled like my cat Duffy my late husband would take us all on various trips out for the day even taking our dog Nancy too been to Whitby Bay but didn't know about the castle there very interesting though you are both well travelled it's so lovely watching your videos on your different activities it's a pleasure seeing what you both get up to on your days out always amazing thank you Jamie and Sherpa for sharing these amazing videos with us
Sherpa is such a good boy. Also very lucky to get to see so many historical places.
There was a cafe in Whitby the last time I was there that done Yorkshire puddings the size of the plate your meal was served inside of it. Wow was it yummy.
Omg I've had one before in Newquay! Place used to be called Phoenix... now called Wax
Just spent 20 minutes with Street View and found Crumbs And Cobbles. The photos show a full English Breakfast inside a Yorkshire pud. So wrong and I want one!
I can see the beauty in it now can only imagine how majestic it was back in the day! Thank you so much for taking me places that I will never be able to go to!
COOL Van, turned a Van into an RV.
It's so cool isn't it 😆
@@SherpasDay Yes!
Sherpas such a good boy for his photos. Thank you for showing us this beautiful place 🐾🐾💙💙
What amazing buildings. So much history. I love these precious buildings. What beautiful Photos of Sherpa
Sherpa is getting even more famous every day. He's getting more and more known and recognised everywhere he goes by everyone especially the fans who knows him by name. I'm a big fan myself and now even my partner is also a fan. I've got my copy of Sherpa in Search of Snow book, we've read it and both love it and enjoyed the story. I'm also a fan of his bestie K'eyush the stunt dog.
The little devil meets the devil himself ….. lol ….. love you Sherpa
😆😆 I think sherp would win ha
Sherpas pitter patter of his paws on the little bridges was the best part! So cute, especially when the camera was not on him, but you knew it was his footsteps.
It's a beautiful place Sherpa sure love's announcing he's here he love's everyone love the video it made my day🥰🥰😍😍😘😘❤❤❤❤
Thankyou Carolyn ☺
I love how Sherpa is very loud... I just love it😄😘😘😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
There's no in-between is there 😂
Whitby has soooo many memories for me.
I'd love to metal detect there. Can you imagine all the cool lil things youd find? Even an old button would go down as one of the coolest finds ever!
Definitely 😲
Now I know what I appreciate about your channel and why I subscribe!!! I really like your dog, Sherpa, and you don’t comment about the most mundane things. You have quiet moments and you let the clips speak for themselves. Other channel host would have endless chatter which bores me.
Nice abbey, great views and the lighting is spectacular (sun).
We love you sherpa. Looks like the Yorkshire moors
It's gorgeous 😍
🧛♂️ 🏰 , what a lovely wander … thank you for bringing us along 🐾🐾🐕🦺💙
You and Sherpa go to the most interesting place. How nice he sits for his picture. You two are the best. You always make me smile
What a lovely way to spend the day. I do wish that more sites in the U.S. were dog friendly. I would love to take my dog everywhere with me!
I love the photo of Lord Sherpa I front of the castle. He can make anything look good.
Lord Sherpa your so adorable and such a good boy much love to you guys
Aw thankyou ☺
What a beautiful place this is! A "wowww" can hardly say how gorgeous it all looks...
You're a lucky doggo, my dearest Sherpa. Truly, you are.
And a big thank you to Jamie. To go to these places and to take us along in your camera.
Thanks & cheers.
Big 🤗🤗 from us here in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
😘😘,
💖💖💖🐶
Yay! My favorite part of the day!! Thank You Woo-Woooo!! XOXOXO
Imagine Sherpa wearing a headset and doing football commentary! XD
Sherpa is a poster boy posing so nicely 🥰 Jamie you are an Awesome doggy dad😊Much love from Ohio USA ❤️
Sherpa's next book should be about his "Abbey Adventures"!!!
Wonderful place, so many interesting things to see. Sherpa's wanders are better advertisements for tourism than fancy pants travelogues. Batdog would have loved to have been there too. He has few things in common with Dracula, fangs, capes, nocturnal, double life, wealth, secretive, etc.
Even though Batdog is the good one and Dracula the bad one, I think they could call a truce. I can imagine them taking a break from their nighttime activities to sit by a roaring fireplace. They'd enjoy discussing the ups and down of their night lives, exchanging cape care tips, etc., while sipping hot tea on a cold night. Well, Sherpa would be drinking tea, I don't want to think about what would might be in Drac's cup.
Hello. Have a safe blessed day! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Such a beautiful day and wonderful architecture! Sherpa really is getting very good at posing! Fantastic pictures!
Thank you for sharing I love you Sherpa
My book came yesterday Saturday 27th. Amazon USA said that it was to be delivered on the 30th. When I was reading it I thought it would end with it all being a dream that Sherpa was having. LOL😁 The Abbey was great.
What a great tour. Thank you. The Gothic architecture is amazing. All that stonework and detail in the arches was amazing to see. All done by hand w/minimal tools for the time. This structure is huge as well, and on that flat landscape would have been just a sight to behold to someone traveling in the area around 1500. Even from what I could see, it is THE sight that stand out from everything else, even the town below. I always enjoy going to the web sites of these places you visit and I can look around on there, take online tours, view the museum displays and enhance my knowledge of places in the world. My family heritage also stems from Yorkshire as well as the first of my ancestors left this area and settled in Virginia in the 1600's so its a real treat to see some of this.
It's crazy how amazing it is isn't it Michele, no cranes or anything like that back then either
Exploring and people to love. A perfect day for Sherpa. Well almost perfect. Chicken balls are missing lol
It is beautiful. Another place u could probably get some cool drone footage, but don't know if it's allowed at places like that. Sherpas so handsome he makes the landscape look more beautiful 😍 🥰🐺thank you,Jamie, for taking us on your adventures. Really enjoy seeing these places. I 🥰🌻🌈🌻🌈🥰
Yea I probably could and run.. but if I uploaded it I'd obviously get caught haha
So beautiful! We have old ruins in the US but nothing like this!! Thanks for the tour! And the Sherpa footage too!!!
Wow, I think the Van felt at home in that parking lot with all those other vans!
WOW!😲 Absolutely beautiful!😍 I can only image how it would of looked back in it’s glory days. I most definitely putting this place on my must see bucket list. Thanks for sharing!😊👍🏼💕
Sherpa always makes me smile 😁🥰
Beautiful abbey, beautiful place. Many thanks. God bless.
Hi always been amazed by this Dracula story honestly this castle gives me a scary feeling . Imagine how cold it must of been in those days with no heating especially a huge castle . Lucky Sherpa gets to travel and explore everywhere . Sherpa looks like a real lord Sherpa in front of the castle . We should all bow
OH oh oh I'm a weaver so I lived seeing the warp weights. So very cool. Thanks for filming everything.
The National Trust, Cathedrals and other ruins by Sherpa and his Hoooman!
That red Dracula T-shirt would have looked really good on Sherpa if you found one in his size. The abbey looked incredibly beautiful, but that would have taken an immense amount of craftsmanship to build…very impressive. The abbey, and its location along the sea, were built with Sherpa in mind. Beautiful place for a walk!😇✌️
When I lived in Europe I loved all the history all about, going to the castles n old churches
I love seeing your country. It's very beautiful
Sherpa say's ' i looooove the castle ' 🙂🥰🐾🐺x
All I can say is WOW. We need those stone structures. They'd be great in a hurricane. Sherpa's book is the greatest book I've ever read. Straight from the heart. Everyone should own a copy 🥰
Aw thankyou so much Janet ☺💙
My mom ordered me a Sherpa book from Barnes and Nobles. I didn't know how to get one. I'd like to get 2 Nook calenders, do you know how to get them?
Thanks Sherpa & Jamie for the awesome tour.
Thank you for sharing Jamie and Sherpa, I'd of never seen the COOL Places y'all visit if you didn't share. WOW
Thanks Jacob anywhere in particular you'd like to see? 🤔
@@SherpasDay Unsure, my Sister visited London back in about 1998, she won a Chearleading Competition, her and her Squad got a trip there. I ENJOY seeing the Castle like places, looks like another World to me.
I just got home from work , I work a later shift . And this popped up .
Wonderfully , relaxing down time watching your travel vids . There benign .and comforting . No politics , no drama as in the world turns , if you get my drift .
Also you show real love for this four legged friend , adopted kid . There are alot of parents including myself should watch your patience , kindness , and long love.
You drove back three hours to get his medicine , then three more .
Total love and dedication .
Thank you for teaching us .
This Abby was probably destroyed by Henry the eighth' .
Very massive and impressive .
Two cuties on a great adventure. ❤️ from Idaho.
Lucky Sherpa gets to travel all around & see so many things. :) Thank you for sharing this video with us. :) Such beautiful buildings.
I think Sherpa has seen more of the UK than me he is one lucky dog and the pics in front of the castles are lovely
Jamie , as Sherpa is getting older , it may be better to not take him for journeys more than 30 minutes away from home . Travel may not be good for him. My suggestion is to make him spend more time at nearby places rather than travelling in long journeys . Our bat dog's loud howl may hide his tiredness but I feel frequent long journeys may not be good for you guys . Just a suggestion . Love you both.
*SHERPA* : Abbey!? I hope she's Cute and has Treats! ;-)
